Heavenly Asura Path(Percy Jackson)

Chapter 2: Heavenly Asura Path 2

Chapter 2: The Elder Chaos

Placing his only arm in front of him, Percy covered his face from the enormous heat and brightness emitted by the light that suddenly appeared. Right now, he felt a little upset; not knowing where he was, not understanding what this place was and what was happening, plus everything he had suffered, his mind simply went down the path of annoyance.

He wanted to scream, curse and burst into tears, but he couldn't. All the tears had been released and there were none left, the curses had come out of his mouth so many times that he couldn't think of anything to say anymore.

He... just wanted a moment of peace.

When the intensity of the light began to diminish, Percy slowly dropped his arm, seeing that there was now someone else inside this strange temple. Percy's slightly empty and tired look immediately turned murderous. Even though he only had one limb left, and was standing on the ground with it, his back became straighter as a terrifying killing intent came out from him.

The figure was an old man, not too tall, but not small either. He was wearing a white robe with some black and gold details. The robe had a hood that was over the old man's head, revealing only a bit of grey hair on his forehead line.

This old man's face had wrinkles and his eyes weren't open too wide, only revealing a bit of the golden color of his left iris and a purple color of his right iris. He had wrinkles on his forehead and a nose that fit his face perfectly.

As he looked at Percy, his expression was calm, peaceful and patient, like a kind grandfather who was taking care of his grandson.

"You~..." Percy's hoarse voice sounded with rage as he looked at the old man. Just by looking at him he knew that the old man was some kind of god. And the mere fact of having one in front of him filled Percy's heart with rage. Ever since he fell into that damned place, he stopped trusting anyone, especially the gods.

"Calm down, young man," the old man spoke, showing that his voice was warm and comforting, to the point that even Percy, with a heart full of rage and resentment, calmed down a little.

"I know you don't trust me, but I want to talk to you," the old man slowly raised his hand. Percy noticed that, even with the old man's wrinkled face, his hands seemed intact, as if the dirt of the world had never touched him. His skin was white and shiny, it seemed soft and clean.

"There... we can't talk with the state you're in," when the old man's voice faded a ray of green light shot out of his hand and went straight into the center of Percy's chest. At that moment, he almost let out a groan. The green light felt warm and comforting, almost like his mother's hugs. And as he was surrounded by that feeling, his limbs regenerated while his body grew at an incredible speed.

His black hair grew until it reached the end of his back and his muscles bulged.

It was as if everything that should have grown outside of Tartarus was growing in just a few seconds. Finally, a black tunic with almost purple blue prints settled on his shoulders, and black pants with a belt of the same color as the prints appeared at his waist.

Percy's eyes that were closed as he enjoyed the feeling and let tears of relief fall, slowly opened. But, his sea-green eyes no longer existed. The resentment and hatred in his heart had not disappeared, turning his eyes into a deep blue color, almost like the darkest depths of the sea.

"Who are you?" Percy's cold voice came out of his mouth as he moved his lips. "Why did you heal me?"

A soft laugh came out of the old man's mouth before he sat on the two-colored throne behind him. His gaze never left Percy, always smiling softly.

"I have many names, young man. But, for your understanding, you can call me Chaos. And yes, before you ask, I am that primordial, I am simply taking a more physical form."

Percy immediately frowned, taking three steps back as Anaklusmos flew into his hand from the ground a few meters away from him.

"What is this place?" Percy asked, now much more alert to the old man's every move. Oh, he knew he couldn't fight Chaos, there was no way he would win, but that didn't mean he would give up and show his neck so easily.

"It's a temple. And more specifically, a temple I created and eternal resting place for divinities that have completely vanished," the old man answered kindly, extending his hand to Percy's right.

"Look there, it's the statue of Helios, when he vanished, his remaining scenery traveled to this place for his eternal sleep," Chaos said before pointing to the other side, where there was a statue of a woman, "The same thing happened with Selene."

"Why did you help me?" Percy asked again, glancing at the statues. And it was true, he could vaguely feel a sensation similar to when he was in front of Artemis or Apollo. It was something that could barely be felt, but if you concentrated hard enough, you could more or less feel it.

"I want your help," Chaos replied, and hurried on, "Of course, it won't be free. In fact, I'll help you with some things and ease your way to a certain extent."

"I refuse," Percy declared, not even hesitating for a moment.

"Wait, please don't refuse so soon. This isn't about some kind of quest I'll give you and then get a reward," Chaos raised a hand to stop Percy.

He then waved that hand and a table full of food and drinks appeared next to a chair.

"Please enjoy. And while you do, I'll tell you about some things that have happened since you entered Tartarus and the reason I need your help."

Percy looked at the plates of Greek food, noticing that they weren't the only ones. There were dishes from the United States to South America, from Europe to Asia. He felt a large amount of saliva build up in his mouth before he had to swallow some.

When was the last time he ate something other than raw monster meat? He wondered before carefully sitting down and slowly reaching out for a hot dog and carefully biting into it before swallowing.

Chaos nodded with a gentle smile.

"In the mortal world, it's been three years since you fell," Chaos began to recount what he had promised. "And inside Tartarus... it's been three hundred years."

Releasing a small sigh, Chaos shook his head, noticing how Percy had stiffened, "It's almost a miracle that you've lasted this long."

Percy looked at the water in the glass he was now holding. His face was more grown up and handsome, but he could almost see dried blood staining his face, dry, ashen skin with dark circles under his eyes.

"Three hundred years..." Percy muttered with a slightly dejected expression.

"In the three years that they spent outside of Tartarus, some things have started to happen. One of them is the constant fights that the gods have had with each other, especially between Zeus and Poseidon."

"Zeus has wanted to recover what there was in the ancient times, with mortals worshipping the gods. Poseidon has kept it with Hestia and other gods. But, it is just a matter of time before a civil war begins," at this point, Chaos slowly shook his head, his expression looking disappointed rather than angry.

"...", Percy remained silent, slowly swallowing the food. Even if his body had grown and healed, he didn't want a stomach ache from eating so fast. He took his time savoring each bite that went into his mouth and listened at the same time. However, his eyes remained cold, as if he didn't care in the slightest what happened with the gods.

"I don't even want to stop them, now I just want them to continue fighting, so that they understand the price they will pay when it's all over. However, those left after that battle could make the same mistakes again; that possibility cannot be ruled out."

"That's why I want your help. Someone like you, who has suffered under the gods and who knows what they can really be like. Only someone like you could punish them properly."

Percy's dark eyes narrowed and he looked at the old man in disgust.

"You want me to be the gods' nanny? I refuse. I'd rather kill myself in this place than do such a thing."

"Nanny? No, of course not, young man. I want you to be an... enforcer... yes, enforcer," Chaos' eyes sparkled.

"The enforcer of the gods' realm, that title is the closest to what I want you to be. I want you to be the one who punishes the true enemies, but also to be fair. I want the gods to be afraid of doing some things. I want them to rule with righteousness and justice, but that's not possible if they themselves are not afraid of committing crimes or bad things."

"So, I want you to be the eyes that watch over the gods, I want you to be the hands that punish the gods."

"Let's say I accept your request," Percy said, letting out a small amused laugh. "How do you plan to make him so strong?"

"Because let's face it, only with a power terrifying enough could one achieve what you wish."

"You're right about that point," Chaos nodded and waved his hand, causing a large screen to appear beside him. The screen showed a planet similar to Earth, but larger and with more enormous continents.

"This is the planet Douluo, within a solar system in a distant galaxy. This planet can be considered as a higher level plane than Earth, this is due to its large amount of resources, external energy and the yet to be discovered high technology."

"You can consider it a magical planet where people are powerful and intelligent, but they do not have technology similar to Earth. Here, there are also places with inheritances of gods from a divine kingdom that belongs to that plane."

In this place you can relax, train, and even obtain the inheritance of a special god who works as an enforcer of that god realm."

"Do you want me to learn from a god?" Percy asked with a frown.

"Relax," Chaos smiled once more. "While these gods may have arrogance, it's not like that of the Greco-Roman pantheon. Those gods were first and foremost mortal humans who rose through their own efforts and good luck. You can say that their arrogance comes from their hard-earned power. And, among them, there are even gods who respect mortal humans."

"This place is perfect for you to train and gain more power. Of course, I will teach you everything you need to live in that world. Also, I'll give you a few gifts to make things a little easier for you."

Percy sighed before drinking some water.

Go to another planet? In another galaxy?... That was something he never expected to do. However, if he accepted, things would be a little different than he thought. His revenge would have to wait a while, which he didn't like too much. Even if he stayed here on Earth, there were ways to bring down the gods and even make them fight each other before the whole civil war thing started.

Perseus licked his lips slowly as he thought, weighing the pros and cons of accepting this offer.

"How long will I have to be on that planet?"

"That depends entirely on your capabilities. But the minimum would be about ten years, I think that approximate time is the minimum it could take you to rise through the ranks of spiritual masters"

Breathing out a breath, Percy leaned back in his chair before nodding.

"Good..."

Chaos smiled even more strongly.

"Then I will begin to teach you what you need to know."
