Heavenly Asura Path(Percy Jackson)

Chapter 6: Heavenly Asura Path 6

Chapter 6: Percy Learned to Be Scheming and Cunning

A cyan beam of energy shot out from two barrels on the shoulders of a young blond man. When it reached its target, a huge explosion swallowed up the targets and black smoke with extremely hot flames could be seen in front of everyone.

Xue Qinghe, the person who was testing this weapon, was trembling slightly. That attack could easily kill a spiritual ancestor over level 50. Even if the beam didn't tear his body apart, the explosion would.

Just a few minutes ago he had entered the shop with curiosity, but as he listened to the owner describe what spiritual tools were, he felt a little skeptical. Now, however, he was trembling with fear and excitement. He knew that if some clan or sect got hold of the method of creating these spiritual tools, then they could dominate the continent.

"Sir, this is amazing!… But, I have a question, I don't know if sir is able to answer."

"Speak," Percy looked coldly and emotionlessly. He didn't even show any respect to the prince. The servants were about to speak, but Xue Qinghe immediately stopped them.

"For example sir, if a Titled Douluo used a spiritual tool, could he fight against a higher level Titled Douluo?"

Percy looked at the prince indifferently. He knew that from level 91 to 95, all Titled Douluo were more or less the same. They could fight without too many differences. But, when one reached level 96, going up a single level was too difficult. From this stage, Titled Douluo were called differently and each level was a chasm that was difficult to overcome.

For example, a Level 97 Titled Douluo could fight against a Level 98 Titled Douluo, but the chances of winning were not the best. And not to even talk about level 99, an existence of such power could kill anyone below them.

The reason for Prince Xue Qinghe's question was simple. If a titled douluo above level 96 could contend with someone of a higher level using spiritual tools, then the powers on the continent and, perhaps the world, would change from now on.

"Impossible," Percy replied, causing the prince to let out a sigh.

"The tools I sell are still too low-level. However, level 9 or 10 spiritual tools, then if they are able to help a titled douluo contend with the level gap."

Percy smiled inwardly as he saw the prince's slightly frightened and annoyed expression. He knew that saying this kind of information could be dangerous, but it was better this way. Percy knew that this prince Xue Qinghe was actually Qian Renxue, someone from the spiritual hall, who was a rival of the Empire.

Simply put, Qian Renxue killed the real prince and was using his identity. By telling this important information, Percy was opening up the possibilities to two paths. The first, is that 'the prince' would try to get him on his side, meaning the spirit hall, so he would send someone secretly or he would come secretly himself. And, if that doesn't work, he would try to kill him and steal all the information he has.

This second path would allow Percy to identify his potential enemies and prepare countermeasures. After all, the shop had security put in place by the old man himself, so inside he didn't have to be afraid of anything.

The first path was that Qian Renxue, as a prince in disguise, would try to get him on her side, but only on her side. This would also help him learn about his enemies, but also gain benefits from being friends with the prince. And if the servants behind her survive when they reach the palace and are part of the empire, then they will report to the emperor, so he would gain more benefits.

In the end, either path benefited Percy and he had nothing to lose.

"Then, I'd like to buy some spiritual tools."

"Do you have the money?" Percy asked. "The one you used just now alone costs over two million gold coins."

Xue Qinghe choked a little, cursing inwardly for not bringing enough money.

"Then... I'll be back soon."

"Let's go!"

"Yes, prince," the two servants immediately followed.

When Percy saw the girl disguised as a man walk out, he smiled coldly.

"Next time, go straight through the door. I don't care who you work for, I'll kill you straight up," Percy's eyes turned red as he looked at a dark corner. But, after a few moments, he walked out of the testing room, causing a shadow to jump straight out of the place.

...Here come the dividing points.....

In an alley near Percy's shop, a man wearing a dark cloak that hid his face, knelt down while holding his throat as he coughed.

"What... was it..." he muttered, trembling in fear. When he saw Percy's red eyes, he felt as if he was sucked into an abyss. And, at that very moment, he felt a killing intent so absurd that he saw his own death by being slit open.

"I have to report to the emperor," he muttered urgently before beginning to run through the shadows.

Inside the throne room, Emperor Xue Ye frowned as he sensed a presence.

"Didn't I order you not to report to me inside the throne room?"

"It's urgent, your grace," the man who had suffered from Percy's killing intent knelt behind the throne and began to explain the prince's visit and his conversation with the shop owner.

The Emperor's expression was first one of surprise before it darkened slightly.

"You were able to sense his soul power level?"

"No... when I tried to probe him, I felt a terrifying abyss. That man is not normal, Your Excellency. You have to be careful when dealing with him, who knows if he is a hidden dragon."

"Do you think it is a good idea to buy his tools? The emperor knew it was a good idea. His empire would gain power to face his enemies, but dealing with such a mysterious character could be the opposite of a benefit.

"Your Excellency, as long as he is not offended, benefits can be obtained. The man did not hide the power of his spiritual tools, so he should have no problems selling them at the right price."

"Although...", the man paused for a moment.

"Speak, I will not be offended."

"Yes... I think it is better for you to go to the shop yourself, Your Excellency. The man, despite being dangerous, I think he would have a better opinion of you if you went to the shop. When he spoke to Prince Xue Qinghe, there was no respect or admiration, but there was no disrespect either. Simply put, he is not a man who is moved by someone's social positions or political power."

"Fine..." the emperor let out a breath of air. "You may leave."

"As you command," the man faded into the shadows behind the throne and left the emperor in complete silence, weighing his options.

As for the now scheming shop owner...

He sat in front of a black and copper cauldron with dragon and phoenix figures on it. The flame within burned brightly as a comforting fragrance filled the room. Percy's eyes were fixed on the fire as he controlled it and used his soul power to mold the ingredients into a shimmering golden pill.

When the process was finished, Percy smiled.

"Now I just have to wait for the Emperor or the prince to come to me. When my identity is exposed, then it will be the time for this pill to shock the world," a sly smile appeared on Percy's cold and handsome face.
