Heavens' Laughter

Chapter 59: Love

"Well~ seeing how you've managed to get the hang of your Absolute Zero Physique pretty quickly, you should start working on the Law of Ice before the sun comes up," Feng Shen remarked, a sly smile playing on his lips.

While he was impressed by his personal servant's rapid progress, he knew there was no time to waste.

If she could begin grasping the fundamentals of the Law of Ice, she'd have a fighting chance in what lay ahead.

Feng Shen suspected this trial was crafted to test survival in its purest form.

In a forest, teeming with monsters was already a daunting challenge, but it was the presence of other humans that truly elevated the stakes.

Desperate, cunning, and often far more dangerous than mere monsters.

Feng Shen was certain that after this survival trial, there would be others, each more grueling and merciless than the last.

Unlike this trial, where fighting seemed optional, he suspected future trials would force participants into direct combat, leaving no room for avoidance or hesitation.

And so, Feng Shen needed to ensure his little piggy didn't get herself killed. It would be inconvenient.

Plus, he would be far from pleased.

"I'm ready for anything!" Yùn Yì nodded firmly, determination shining in her eyes as she clenched her fists in front of her.

She was ready to learn anything, to push herself as far as necessary if it meant becoming stronger.

Now that Yùn Yì understood the magnitude of the gift she possessed, a newfound confidence had taken root within her.

Her doubts about her cultivation path were fading, replaced by a resolve to master her abilities and prove herself worthy of the Second Young Master.

"Good, good." Feng Shen murmured, scratching his cheek as he fell silent for a moment.

His mind wandered as he tried to recall anything from his past life that could help guide his personal servant.

After all, Feng Shen didn't have manuals or anything for his personal servant to follow.

He frowned slightly, realizing he'd have to rely on his own knowledge and insights to pass on whatever he could.

'This might be a problem…'

Feng Shen was well aware that most of the cultivation techniques available to him were broken to the point where low-level cultivators couldn't safely use them.

These techniques required an immense amount of Qi, experience, and precise control—things that took years, if not hundreds of thousands of years, to master.

Without the right foundation or level of skill, attempting to wield such power could easily backfire, often with fatal consequences.

Feng Shen knew it was a dangerous path to walk, and he had to be cautious about what he taught his personal servant.

Pushing her too hard, too soon, could lead to disastrous results.

'Wait a minute…!' Feng Shen's golden eyes suddenly lit up with realization. A grin spread across his face as he remembered his personal servant's unique gift:

'She possesses the Absolute Zero Physique!'

Feng Shen cursed himself inwardly:

'How could I forget something so crucial?'

Feng Shen shook his head, annoyed at his lapse in focus.

Because his personal servant's body was far from ordinary—capable of withstanding even the most advanced and taxing Law of Ice techniques, regardless of her cultivation level…

Feng Shen knew she could handle the ice technique he was thinking of—one that even he hadn't fully mastered.

It was a technique that required a deep, intricate control over the Law of Ice, something he hadn't quite achieved despite his close proximity to mastery.

Feng Shen was strong enough to wield it with impressive skill, but not to the extent of complete mastery.

His personal servant, however, with her Absolute Zero Physique, could endure its strain and unleash its full power.

"You can start learning the Ice Phoenix Technique," Feng Shen spoke, his voice calm but thoughtful. "Though, seeing as we're not in a snowy environment, this will be quite difficult..."

He glanced around, his eyes scanning the forest, clearly aware that this was not the ideal place for such training.

Feng Shen paused for a moment, as if pondering a solution.

Then a spark of realization flickered in his eyes. An idea had struck him.

"Come here." Feng Shen's voice was firm. His expression was serious, no longer showing a grin, as he gestured for his personal servant to step closer.

Yùn Yì gulped, feeling her heart flutter at the command. A slight warmth spread to her cheeks, and she couldn't help but blush, her head feeling a little light.

Her heart raced at the seriousness in the Second Young Master's tone, but she didn't hesitate.

She didn't reject his words. Instead, she replied in a soft, almost bashful voice:

"At once…"

Yùn Yì stepped forward, a mix of anticipation and nervousness swirling within her.

'Wait, what's he doing? This is happening way too fast! Is he… is he going to hug me?! Ahh—no, that's way too forward! I thought he was going to teach me techniques, not... this kind of technique! This is way too much, I can't even!"

Yùn Yì felt her breath catch as her heart raced uncontrollably.

Her face flushed a deeper shade of red, and she felt light-headed, as if her entire world had tilted with the sudden closeness.

Before Yùn Yì could process it, she found herself wrapped in the arms of the Second Young Master.

The warmth of his embrace enveloped her, and, almost instinctively, she found herself inhaling deeply, her senses overwhelmed by his scent.

It was a mixture of confidence, power, and something uniquely the Second Young Master—Yùn Yì's mind struggled to focus as she felt herself melt into the moment.

"Hold on tight," Feng Shen instructed. He tightened his embrace around his personal servant.

Completely unaware of the effect his proximity had on her, he was focused entirely on the task at hand—her training.

"O—Ok…" Yùn Yì muttered softly, her voice barely audible as she hesitated for a moment before wrapping her arms around the Second Young Master.

A wave of nervousness hit her, and she found herself overly conscious of every little thing.

Yùn Yì became acutely aware of the sweat on her palms and the faint smell of her own nerves, worrying that it might be off-putting.

Her heart raced even faster as she desperately tried to keep her composure, hoping that the Second Young Master wouldn't think of her as anything less than perfect in his eyes.

"Alrighty~ let's do this~," said Feng Shen.

He then used Shadow Step.

Reappearing near a small pond, Feng Shen glanced at the clear water, a faint nod of approval crossing his face.

He was glad he had remembered the location of this place—a perfect spot for the training he had in mind.

"Ok, let's get started~ Get into the small pond," Feng Shen said. He pointed toward the water.

He wanted his personal servant to start applying her Absolute Zero Physique in a practical way. Explore hidden tales at My Virtual Library Empire

The goal for right now was simple—make the pond cold.

Feng Shen mainly wanted his personal servant to focus on making the exterior of her body resistant to the extreme cold.

While her inner body was already well-suited to handle the chill due to her physique, the outer layer of her body wasn't as accustomed to it yet.

It was something Feng Shen knew his personal servant would need to master, especially if she was going to learn the Ice Phoenix Technique.

Seconds passed…

No movement…

Silence…

"Um…?" Feng Shen raised an eyebrow, his confusion quickly turning into slight irritation as he noticed his personal servant hadn't moved.

A small vein popped up on his forehead, his patience wearing thin.

Feng Shen's eyes shifted downward, catching sight of his personal servant's hair, and for a moment, he fought the urge to rip it out in frustration.

"Hello~" he called out in a dangerously calm tone.

"Get into the pond~" Feng Shen's words were sharper now.

He needed his personal servant to start focusing, to take action, and the sooner she did, the sooner they could move forward with her training.

Though, as Feng Shen tried to maintain his composure on the surface…

He was about to mutter under his breath:

'Don't waste my fucking time, you dumb bitch.'

"Oh my~! I'm so sorry!" Yùn Yì exclaimed, finally snapping out of her dreamy daze as the Second Young Master's words registered in her mind.

She realized she had been lost in her own little world, and her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

Quickly, Yùn Yì unwrapped her hands from around the Second Young Master, taking a step back, and gave herself a small, self-punishing slap on the cheeks, leaving light handprints.

Her face turned even redder as she wished she could just hide in a hole somewhere.

Feeling utterly mortified, Yùn Yì walked hurriedly toward the pond, her steps slightly faltering as she tried to shake off the rush of emotions, forcing herself to focus on the task at hand.

Feng Shen simply rolled his eyes, a faint sigh escaping his lips.

If he was honest, he couldn't understand this emotion called "love."

Despite having witnessed its signs and being well-aware of the effects it had on others, he couldn't quite grasp the depth of it.

Feng Shen had never in his entire existence gone through it himself and it had never made sense to him.

Emotions like love, with their unpredictable pulls and irrationality, were beyond his comprehension.

After all, to Feng Shen…

It was a weakness.
