Chapter 162: Chapter 4: The Honkai Experiment
In a small village of less than a hundred people...
"Many thanks for the meal!" Kallen said gratefully, setting down the last bowl she had polished off.
Whether it was due to Kallen's physiology or not, despite the food being rather basic, she found it quite delicious.
And so... she had consumed nearly seven to eight times the amount a single person usually would.
Truly a gastronome in action.
"Lady, are you really full? There's more if you want..." A nearby villager, eyeing the empty plates on the table, couldn't help but tremble involuntarily.
This seemingly ordinary girl had just eaten the equivalent of seven to eight adult portions. How incredible...
If they didn't know she was a divine spirit, they might have thought she was some kind of disguised creature from folklore.
But could their village truly sustain such an insatiable goddess? It was a legitimate concern.
-
What the villagers thought, Miss Kallen's beauty remained unaware of—though even if she knew, it wouldn't have mattered much.
After all, Kallen could never stay here.
So...
Once Kallen had eaten her fill, she began inquiring about the location of Yae village.
"Excuse me," she asked a villager as she stood up. "Could you tell me where we are? How far is it to Shinano?
"Shinano... It's quite far from here," the villager replied promptly. "But none of us have ever left the town before, so we don't know how to get there. If you need to go to Shinano, it might be best to ask around in the nearest town."
"As for where we are... This is Hagoku."
"Hagoku..."
Kallen, with her basic knowledge of the Eastern War of Japan, could roughly determine her current position.
Hagoku wasn't close to Shinano, but at least it wasn't too far either.
Shinano Province was located in the middle of Eastern Japan, and Hagoku was separated from it by two or three small provinces.
One could travel through Uzen to reach Echigo, and then on to Shinano. However, this route required a long journey through Echigo, which was particularly expansive.
Alternatively, one could go through Hagoku, Iwado, Kamiwa... and finally arrive in Shinano. Overall, neither route was significantly longer than the other.
-
After getting a clear understanding of her location, Kallen prepared to leave. Finding Yae Village in Shinano was her primary goal, after all.
If she arrived too late and something happened to Yae Rin, the adorable younger sister of Yae Sakura, it would be most unfortunate.
So, Kallen, now fully fed, began saying goodbye to the villagers.
"I have urgent matters to attend to in Shinano," she announced. "It's time for me to take my leave. Thank you for your generous hospitality."
As Kallen prepared to depart, the villagers protested inwardly. They had finally encountered a genuine Godly Being—how could they let her go? They must maintain good relations with such a deity! What if another monster attack occurred in the future?
However... the Godly Being had important business to attend to. It would be even more inappropriate to hinder her.
In their dilemma, they ultimately bid Kallen farewell.
-
After Kallen left the village, the villagers began discussing amongst themselves. In the end... they decided to build a divine statue in her honor.
This way, during times of danger, when they prayed to the Godly Being, she would surely sense it.
With the decision made, the villagers set out to choose a location, gather materials, and plan the construction...
Kallen had no idea that after her departure, the villagers would actually start building a divine statue for her.
At this moment, Kallen was steadily walking towards the south. As long as she continued moving in a southerly direction, she would eventually approach Shinano Province, although there was always the possibility of veering off course.
-
While on the move, Kallen briefly checked Sixth Serenade's current skills.
Sixth Serenade possessed a unique form of energy called "Nachtsicht."
Through "Nachtsicht" she could directly use the skill [Raven Blitz].
Raven Blitz was both cool and powerful.
With a single thought, her body split into two indistinct blue silhouettes, moving swiftly to attack.
At this moment, Sixth Serenade's body became immune to all attacks, able to phase through solid objects and deal massive damage to enemies.
Nachtsicht energy no longer required accumulation through combat; instead, it could be directly converted from Honkai energy.
Looking ahead, Kallen slightly crouched down, positioning her feet...
"It's my stage now..."
She seemed to transform into two illusory figures, swiftly gliding past row after row of trees in the blink of an eye.
As Kallen's Raven Blitz concluded, the dual forms merged back into one, reverting to her original appearance.
One second, two seconds, three seconds...
The trees behind her instantly disintegrated, turning into a pile of debris on the ground.
"A perfect performance..."
The girl gracefully adjusted the crow mask on her head, her lips curving into a smile that could captivate any heart.
-
Because Kallen had been traveling south, she encountered many uninhabited forests.
However, unlike in the world of Inuyasha, Kallen did not meet any monsters or supernatural creatures.
For the most part, there were only ordinary wild animals.
Faced with these creatures, Miss Kallen couldn't possibly pass up such a opportunity for fresh meat delivered right to her doorstep.
After all, Kallen... possessed the same attribute as a certain songstress.
A foodie...
In this world, one must never turn their nose up at fine cuisine.
Fortunately, the inventory still contained seasonings she'd brought along, so even simple grilled meat could be flavorful and delicious.
Kallen held a grilled partridge leg, eating as she continued moving.
It wasn't until a wild boar suddenly charged into her field of vision that Kallen decided to conduct an experiment.
Can every fragment of Honkai easily turn ordinary animals into Honkai Beasts, and humans into Minions...?
And then... would the Honkai Beasts I've modified obey my commands?
With this thought, Kallen took out a Honkai Crystal and directly placed it into the wild boar's mouth, releasing the Honkai energy contained within.
In the blink of an eye...
The wild boar's anguished screams pierced the air.
The creature, once no more than two meters tall, rapidly transformed into a monstrous beast five or six meters in size.
Its body radiated an intense desire to destroy, wreaking havoc on the surrounding trees and rocks. Then, without warning... it turned its sights on the one who had altered it.
Kallen...
"Um... I command you... to lie down," Kallen declared, her voice firm as she addressed the mutated Honkai beast before her.
But...
The Honkai beast ignored Kallen's command entirely.
Does my command have no effect? Kallen pondered. Or is it no longer under my control?
Just then, the wild boar Honkai beast charged towards Kallen with frenzied aggression.
So it doesn't acknowledge my authority. In that case... there's no point in transforming and controlling Honkai beasts.
As the rampaging beast hurtled towards her, Kallen remained remarkably unperturbed...
With the Honkai beast mere moments away, she delivered a swift kick...
The colossal Honkai Beast barreling towards her was sent soaring into the sky with a single kick from Kallen.
