The tickets to Hai City were booked for the second day of the vacation, and Qiao Yun didn’t have much luggage, just a small suitcase.

“Do you want Mom to go with you?”

Su Mian was afraid that Lu Zhanxing might be too busy at times to look after Qiao Yun.

Helplessly, Lu Rui said from the side, “Our daughter is going out on a rare occasion; there’s no need for you to worry so much.”

“Once you’ve landed, you must call me,” Su Mian insisted, still worried.

Qiao Yun obediently nodded, “Okay.”

“If you need anything, just tell your second brother,” said Lu Jingzhi.

Although he had had some unpleasantness with Qiao Yun because of a problem with making friends a while ago,

he still came back today, after all, it was his little sister’s first long trip.

Even now, he didn’t think he had done anything wrong.

Su Mian reminded Qiao Yun, “Don’t be polite with your second brother. He offered to take you out, so he must take full responsibility for you.”

Seeing the care coming from them, Qiao Yun felt a bit uncomfortable.

When she used to go out, no one would nag her like this.

Suddenly, Lu Jingzhi asked, “Why isn’t Tingting coming out to see Qiaoqiao off?”

“Tingting said she’s not feeling well,” Su Mian said, a touch of concern in her voice.

When asked, she only mentioned she hadn’t slept well at night.

Lu Jingzhi frowned slightly but eventually decided to send Qiao Yun off first before going upstairs to check on Lu Ting.

As they stepped out the door, they saw Li Hanzhou standing by the car.

Mr. and Mrs. Lu were taken aback.

Qiao Yun was also stunned.

Not understanding why Li Hanzhou was there.

Lu Jingzhi noticed the furrow in Li Hanzhou’s brows.

“Qiaoqiao is going to Hai City, and it just so happens I’m also heading there. She and I agreed to go together,” he said.

Li Hanzhou rarely explained his actions.

When did they agree on that? She had no idea.

“Then please take good care of Qiaoqiao along the way, Mr. Li,” said Su Mian, not overthinking it but feeling a bit embarrassed instead.

Li Hanzhou hummed in acknowledgment, his gaze falling on Qiao Yun’s pale fingers resting on the suitcase, and he lifted his chin slightly, “Shall we go?”

Qiao Yun didn’t expose him and after saying goodbye to Mr. and Mrs. Lu, she prepared to get in the car.

Li Hanzhou naturally took over her suitcase.

Seeing their interaction, Lu Jingzhi’s frown deepened.

Uncertain of his own feelings, he said to Li Hanzhou, “I appreciate your help this time, Han Zhou, but next time we can send her off ourselves.”

“With the relationship Qiaoqiao and I have, it’s not troublesome at all,” Li Hanzhou replied with a smile at the corner of his mouth, as if he didn’t grasp the subtext of Lu Jingzhi’s words.

Lu Jingzhi’s expression stiffened.

What kind of relationship? How deep was it?

“Mr. Li is really a good person; Qiaoqiao usually depends on you guys to look out for her,” Su Mian said, genuinely happy that Qiaoqiao had made friends.

Even after Li Hanzhou’s car had driven off, Lu Jingzhi still had a dark expression on his face.

It left Lu Rui and Su Mian completely baffled.
