High Martial Arts: Unmatched in Reality - Ascending Beyond the Game

Chapter 20: Ch20- Extraordinary Realm, The Road to Becoming a God?

A scarlet blood shadow suddenly emerged from the ruins.

The hand that was originally aimed at He Qing's chest swung wide, falling empty.

"Huh?"

A surprised sound escaped as Yogan rolled on the ground with the woman in his arms, looking at the blood shadow with heightened vigilance. When he felt the breath of the approaching entity, his pupils suddenly contracted.

"Level 1 peak!"

Where the woman had just stood, a figure in a blood-colored long gown was crouched, surrounded by surging blood.

"There are still survivors. I can continue to feast," the figure hissed.

Yogan stood up, his face grim, blood surging through his limbs in preparation.

Before him, the blood shadow slowly raised its head, revealing narrow, triangular vertical pupils that glowed with a sinister and terrifying light.

It was a snake-man.

More precisely, it was a grotesque monster with a snake's head and a human body.

Its entire body was covered in blood-colored scales that shimmered, making it appear even more bizarre.

As the snake-man spoke, Yogan was hit with a pungent, foul smell, as though death itself had followed him into the world.

The snake-man fixed his gaze on Yogan, a strange, twisted smile spreading across its face—gloomy and malevolent. Then, its eyes shifted to He Qing behind him.

The woman's full figure, especially her exposed white skin beneath her tattered clothes, caught the snake-man's attention. His eyes gleamed with hunger.

The snake-man's tongue flicked out, wetting his lips with a snake-like gesture.

"I didn't expect to enjoy this again. This is worth defending…" he hissed, his long tail whipping the ground like a whip, his entire body trembling with excitement.

"Another mutant beast!" Yogan's heart raced, and his body tensed. The blood-colored snake-man before him posed a far greater threat than the previous Qingyou Wolf. The vertical pupils gleamed with cold, calculating cunning.

"Camp... Camp?" He Qing bit her lip, her gaze locked on the building not far away, where the strong stench of blood filled the air.

"Brother Yang... They wouldn't..."

The woman murmured, disbelief in her voice, her eyes starting to mist with unshed tears.

Yogan didn't care for He Qing's emotional turmoil. The camp was her home, but it held no personal significance to him.

"Hey, kid, want to make a deal?"

The snake-man twisted his neck, producing a series of ominous clicks.

"Send the woman behind you, and I'll help you open the door to the new world... How about it?"

Yogan frowned in confusion, puzzled by the snake-man's words. The power system of this world seemed to be far more intricate than he had anticipated.

At that moment, He Qing tugged at his arm, panic in her voice as she shouted frantically.

"Don't... don't listen to him! That's the power of the devil. Once you sink into it, you'll become a walking corpse!"

He Qing was visibly terrified of this power. Her shoulders trembled, and her pretty face twisted with dread.

She had witnessed too many people succumb to the allure of such power, only to become uncontrollable mutant monsters—beasts that could no longer retain their humanity.

She didn't want Yogan to become like that.

"..."

At that moment, Yogan's hand reached out, pressing gently on her trembling body, stilling her movements.

He Qing snapped back to reality, her body halting its tremors. She stared at Yogan, trying to gauge what he would do next.

"Tell me about that power," Yogan's voice came, calm but piercing. His words were like a whisper from the devil itself.

There was always a price for power.

He Qing, her face filled with disappointment, lowered her gaze. She didn't want to hear any more of this conversation.

The snake-man's cold smile widened, his tense body relaxing with satisfaction.

In the chaotic world that had emerged after the God War, the original energy of heaven and earth had collapsed, and humanity's thirst for power had become greater than ever before.

Naturally, Yogan—just like many others—could not resist the allure of such overwhelming power.

"As long as you are willing to devoutly believe in God, God will grant you power," the snake-man said in a hoarse voice.

"So simple?" Yogan asked, still confused.

"Of course not..." The snake-man's voice was laced with mockery as he stood tall, his eyes gleaming with something dark.

"If you want to gain the recognition of God, you must transform your body, like me. This is the first step."

The snake-man's gaze lingered on his own body with satisfaction.

"Once the transformation is complete, and you continuously believe in the true God, you will begin to feel the power wandering between heaven and earth. Absorb it, and you will rapidly break through to level three... This is the second step."

The snake-man's eyes glowed with enthusiasm, as if he could already taste the immense power that was so close.

"The third step!" he continued, his voice rising in excitement.

"The true God will feel your faith. After reaching level three, you will truly gain God's affirmation, absorb the power of God, and enter the extraordinary realm!"

"Above the extraordinary is the road to becoming a god!"

The snake-man spread his arms, his voice sharp and triumphant, as if he were a demon claiming victory.

Yogan remained silent, his expression unreadable, though confusion swirled in his eyes.

"Above level three... the extraordinary realm... the road to becoming a god...?"

This training system was completely different from the martial arts he was familiar with in reality.

He thought back to what his teacher had taught him during class.

"Martial arts are divided into nine grades."

"Below the first grade, practice blood and qi. From the first to the third grade, forge the body. The fourth, fifth, and sixth grades refine the qi."

"The seventh grade marks a master, the eighth a great master, and the ninth, the strongest!"

The extraordinary realm and the road to becoming a god, however, were entirely new concepts that had never been mentioned in his previous life.

"What is the extraordinary realm, and how does one become a god?"

Yogan's mind raced, trying to comprehend this foreign system of power. The answers he sought were buried in the chaos of the God War and the strange world around him. The path to becoming a god was unknown, but Yogan was determined to find out.
