Chapter 30: Chapter 29: The Banquet of the Gods

Kenji raised an eyebrow. "Good news?"

Hestia beamed with excitement, practically bouncing on her heels. "There's a divine banquet happening tomorrow! And this time, gods can bring their Familia members with them!"

Liliruca's ears perked up. "A divine banquet?"

"Yep!" Hestia puffed out her chest proudly. "I'm finally a goddess with a Familia! That means I can attend without feeling embarrassed! And, Renji, I'm bringing you!"

Kenji chuckled, already expecting this.

But before he could say anything, Liliruca suddenly latched onto his arm.

"Then I'm coming too," she declared.

Hestia froze, her smile twitching. "Wait, what? No, no, no, just me and Kenji!"

Liliruca narrowed her eyes. "Why?"

"Because… because someone has to stay behind to guard the Familia!" Hestia sputtered.

Liliruca smirked. "Bell can do that."

Hestia flinched.

Bell, who had been silently watching, suddenly felt targeted.

"...Why am I being offered up like this?"

And just like that, Liliruca won the argument.

---

Under the glow of chandeliers, the grand manor radiated elegance.

It was massive—a sprawling estate, easily over a hundred thousand square meters, with lush gardens and towering marble pillars.

Inside, divine figures mingled in groups, laughter and chatter filling the air. Gods from across Orario stood together, some drinking, others scheming.

And among them—

"Renji, open your mouth~ Ahhh~"

Hestia held up a delicate pastry, practically shoving it toward Kenji's mouth.

Before he could react—

"Kenji-kun, this one is better," Liliruca intercepted, offering a perfectly cut slice of steak on a fork.

Both women locked eyes, tension crackling between them.

A silent war had begun.

Kenji sighed, used to this by now.

But before things could escalate—

"Oi! If it ain't the little pipsqueak Hestia!"

A loud, mocking voice rang through the banquet.

Hestia twitched.

Everyone turned as a tall, red-haired woman strode toward them with a cocky grin.

Loki.

"Well, well," Loki continued, stopping in front of them. "I heard ya finally got a Familia. Took ya long enough!"

Then she grinned wider, leaning down with a wicked glint in her eye.

"But tell me, Hestia—have ya gotten even shorter since last time?"

Silence.

The room froze.

The moment those words left Loki's mouth, Kenji swore he heard something snap inside Hestia.

A dark aura erupted around her.

"You…" Hestia slowly looked up.

Then—she smirked.

"And you," Hestia countered, eyes flickering toward Loki's chest, "are as flat as ever."

Loki's face darkened instantly.

Kenji blinked. Did she just…

"You little brat—" Loki lunged.

Hestia dodged, grabbing her by the face. Loki retaliated, grabbing Hestia's head in return.

And then, before anyone could stop them—

The Goddess War began.

Hair pulled. Insults thrown. Divine dignity? Gone.

The other gods?

They watched with interest.

"Ah, good ol' Hestia and Loki," one god mused.

"They never change," another chuckled.

Meanwhile, Kenji rubbed his temples.

"...Should I step in?"

"No need," a calm voice replied.

Kenji turned—his gaze landing on a familiar golden-haired knight.

"Ais," he greeted.

Ais nodded slightly. "Loki does this a lot. It's fine."

Kenji chuckled. "I can tell."

But then—

The banquet hall fell silent.

A wave of intense presence swept over the room.

All eyes turned toward the staircase.

Descending slowly was a goddess so breathtakingly beautiful that it felt unreal.

Freya.

Draped in a silver dress, she exuded an otherworldly charm, her every step elegant and deliberate. Beside her stood a towering warrior clad in black armor—the strongest adventurer in Orario, Ottar.

Gasps echoed through the hall.

Kenji's eyes narrowed.

Freya…

Unlike others, he wasn't captivated.

But Freya…

She was looking straight at him.

And she smiled.
