Chapter 24: 24
Of course, this thought only flashed through Ivan's mind. If he continued to do stupid things, Snape might really deduct a lot of Gryffindor house points.
Ivan didn't care about this, but he wouldn't let the entire Gryffindor house suffer losses just to earn academic points.
Therefore, in the next few days, apart from doing some small things in private and collecting some materials needed to brew hypnotic potions, Ivan did not do anything big during the Potions class.
This preparation work continued until the eve of Halloween. Ivan looked at the system bar and was very satisfied with his results.

After nearly half a semester of hard work, Ivan has upgraded all the spells he knows to level two, except for the newly learned shrinking spell. Both the power and stability are much better than level one.
Among them, potion knowledge was the first to reach the third level. The only thing that remained unchanged was magic item making, and Ivan had no idea for the time being. He also left enough academic points for a trial card, just in case, and all the application points were exchanged for unexpected cards waiting to be activated.
In order to welcome the upcoming Halloween, pumpkin lanterns have been hung in the halls of Hogwarts. They contain magic cast by Dumbledore himself, which can continuously emit a faint blue light.
Peeves also insidiously hid in one of the lanterns. Whenever an unsuspecting little wizard passed by, Peeves would suddenly pop out of the lantern to scare him, and then laugh and get into another lantern amid the little wizard's scolding.
But I have to say that it is because of Peeves that this Halloween has the proper horror atmosphere.
At least Harry and Ron both felt the festive atmosphere brought by Peeves, and they would subconsciously stay away from the glowing pumpkin lanterns in the castle.
"Ivan, why did you create so many thorns?"
In the Great Exhibition Hall, at the long table of Gryffindor, Harry looked at Ivan curiously as he turned the wooden blocks and branches he had picked up from somewhere into semi-circular spikes.
These semi-circular iron thorns were extremely ugly, but the spikes were thin and long, and the cold light they emitted made Harry shiver.
"To provide some fun for everyone on Halloween, of course," Ivan said with a smile.
"Fun?" Harry and Ron looked at each other and had a bad feeling.
"I'm just kidding, I'm just practicing a spell." Ivan waved his hand and explained.
But Ivan did not stop his actions. He waved his wand at the newly transformed spikes, used the shrinking spell to shrink the spikes dozens of times, and threw them into the bag.
There was a sudden sound of metal clashing in the bag, and Ivan picked it up with his backhand.
"By the way, where's Hermione?" Ivan looked around but didn't see Miss Know-It-All, and couldn't help feeling a little strange.
"Well... this..." Ron's face turned slightly red, and he hesitated for a long time without squeezing out a few words.
Finally, Harry couldn't stand it anymore, so he told Hermione what happened today when Ron was secretly saying bad things and was heard by Hermione.
"I'm not wrong, she is like that!" Ron blushed.
Ivan frowned, he didn't expect that such a thing would happen even with him around. After thinking for a while, Ivan stood up, picked up his wand, and walked towards the exit of the hall.
"Ivan, the party hasn't started yet, where are you going?" Harry asked.
"Of course, I'm going to find Hermione..." Ivan answered, leaving only his back to Harry and Ron.
After leaving the bustling exhibition hall, Ivan found a secret passage and headed to the abandoned girls' bathroom as quickly as possible, intending to persuade Hermione to leave first so as not to disturb his subsequent actions against the troll.
However, halfway through, Ivan changed his plan again after careful consideration, because he was not sure how long it would take him to persuade Hermione to leave, and he didn't know when the troll would be released. If he and Hermione were blocked by the troll while taking a bathroom, it would be difficult for them to escape, let alone fight!
In comparison, it would be better to kill the giant monster directly at a place a little further away from the bathroom.
Since he had scouted the spot beforehand, Ivan quickly found a suitable corridor and threw a few rock biscuits that Hagrid had given him in the center of the corridor.
These rock cakes are soaked in a powerful sleeping potion, enough to feed several adult wizards.
As for why it is rock cake?
Ivan said that the trolls were not picky eaters and would eat everything, and the rock biscuits were easy to carry, so they could just consider it as waste. Otherwise, why would they just leave them in the dormitory and wait for them to get infested with bugs?
Since Hagrid, the half-giant, likes to eat it so much, maybe the troll likes it too?
After making sufficient preparations, Ivan hid in a secret passage beside the corridor. He could defeat the giant monster in the simplest way. Ivan would only fight with his magic wand when he had nothing better to do...
You only have one life, so you have to be timid when it is time to be timid.
Less than a minute after Ivan was ready, there was a slight vibration on the floor. Ivan faintly smelled a foul odor and his expression suddenly froze. He became extremely nervous. The troll had arrived!
The next moment, a twelve-foot-tall behemoth appeared on the other side of the corridor.
The first thing Ivan saw was a pair of thick feet that looked like those of a Xianbei. The giant's fat waist was like a huge bucket made of a dilapidated old tree, and it was painted with a layer of ugly green paint. The small head on top looked only slightly bigger than Ivan's, and combined with its burly body, it looked a little absurd and ridiculous.
The most important thing is that it was holding a thick wooden stick in its hand, dragging it on the ground, making a series of sharp and piercing sounds.
Ivan swallowed hard, and finally he understood why Dumbledore chose the troll as one of the defenses of the Philosopher's Stone. Its huge body alone was enough to make an adult wizard treat it with caution.
And for a young wizard who has not yet graduated from the wizard academy, it is even more of a nightmare!
Ivan couldn't help but feel lucky that he didn't choose to fight directly. If he was accidentally hit by the giant monster's big stick, he might have to travel through time again...
