Chapter 92: Hogwarts, Please Graduate Soon, Ch 61.4
The seeds of snapping cabbage were also a type of ingredient. The steel potion would enable a wizard's body to become as hard as steel for a limited time, with snapping cabbage being one of the main materials used.
"Really?" Sprout was a bit skeptical. "You can brew the steel potion already? You're not thinking of growing the snapping cabbage yourself, are you?"
Such things weren't unheard of.
The students from Hufflepuff were all little badgers with a talent for gardening, often growing unusual potted plants in their dormitories. When she was a student, some even kept a carnivorous plant in the dorm, and every day her roommate would dive into the flower bud to sleep, worrying if she would be able to get out alive every morning.
"Professor, how can you think that?" Wayne shook his head vigorously, as if he were a bobblehead. "What I brewed last night was a potion of hatred; making a steel potion is really not that challenging."
"Even if I wanted to grow Venomous Tentacula, there isn't enough sunlight in the dormitory."
Sprout nodded in agreement. Venomous Tentacula needs a lot of sunlight and adequate humidity, and the Hufflepuff dormitory really doesn't have those conditions. After Wayne assured her that he wouldn't be growing it himself, Sprout still gave him a bag of seeds. She believed in Hufflepuff's honesty.
Once outside the greenhouse, Wayne immediately divided the Venomous Tentacula seeds into two portions. One was for brewing the steel potion, and the other was… obviously for planting.
However, he was still an honest Hufflepuff; having promised the professor, he would certainly not break his word. So, Wayne decided to seek Hagrid's help.
Hagrid, who grew Venomous Tentacula, was in his small hut. Upon hearing Wayne's request, Hagrid shook his head repeatedly.
"No way, that thing is too dangerous. Why would you want to plant it?"
"It's you who will plant it," Wayne corrected him. "I'm just giving you the seeds; you can then give me the mature Venomous Tentacula."
Hagrid looked at him blankly. "What's the difference?"
"Of course there's a difference," Wayne earnestly explained. "I won't be involved in the planting process, so I won't be violating any school rules."
Hagrid was left confused but still maintained his stance. Wayne had no choice but to pull out his trump card: "Hagrid, you wouldn't want to miss seeing Fawkes in the future, would you?"
"If I can't see him, then I can't see him," Hagrid hesitated for a moment but then stuck to his position. His favorite magical creatures were the fierce dragons; as for the phoenix… it didn't entice him much.
If Wayne really managed to bring a dragon, not only would he agree to plant the Venomous Tentacula, he would even gladly plant a Wimbourne Willow.
Wayne thought for a moment and unleashed his secret weapon: "Hagrid, you also wouldn't want me to beat up your dog, Louie, every day, right?"
Hagrid was taken aback. "How do you know about Louie?"
"Isn't he just down the hallway on the fourth floor? I've interacted with him a couple of times; we really hit it off," Wayne said, winking. "If you don't help me out, don't blame me if one day your dog goes missing."
