Hogwarts: The Unscientific Wizard (TL)

Chapter 782: Chapter 782: Advice and Duel (2)

At the count, Andy's heartbeat sped up, his blood boiled, and his magic became more active, answering to his emotions.

When the count reached one, Andy pointed his wand at Dumbledore, grey-white sparks glittered at his wand tip, and his eyes fixed on him.

As the word "Start!" echoed in the desolate land, Andy made the move first, channelling his focus into a combination of a simple but effective first-year spell and a transfiguration spell as a warm-up move.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" Andy chanted, causing not one but four sizeable stones around Dumbledore to float and lunge at him with a whistle, showing his mastery of the spell. The stones started to deform and compress on the flight trajectory, turning into dark cannonballs.

Looking at the incoming projectiles, Dumbledore remained calm. With a fluid motion, he flicked his wand and spoke calmly. "Evanesco!"

With a slight wave around his head, the stone aimed behind him disintegrated into thin air before they could reach him, and after another wave, three stones that hurled toward him from the front turned into eagles with a spark of intelligence and life in their eyes. Dumbledore's eyes sparkled with curiosity as he observed Andy's initiative.

If I had used the transfiguration spell to control the stones directly, he might not have been able to take control and transfigure them, but for that, I need to transfigure them into a bird and transform them back when they reach him.

While Andy looked at him and mused, Dumbledore sent the eagles to attack Andy to test his reaction.

When they reached halfway through, Andy transfigured a falcon from the snow. This time, he decided to use the curse he had wanted to try for fun for a long time since seeing it in Gringotts.

When the Falcon reached the eagles, and the eagles were about to attack it under the control of Dumbledore, who wanted to see what Andy was planning to do, Andy pointed his wand up and chanted the incantation, "Geminio!"

"Flagrante!"

When the Eagles attacked it, Falcon started to duplicate swiftly under the effect of the Gemino Curse and proceeded to burn and scorch the Eagles under the effect of the Flagrante Curse, leading to the Eagles' deaths and the cancellation of the transfiguration spell.

But because of the heat, the Falcons also couldn't maintain the transformation any longer and turned into powder of snow, falling along with the pieces of red scorched stones.

While launching the next attack, Andy thought about the difference in their transfiguration skills.

The birds Dumbledore transformed seemed slightly different from the ones he usually transforms. Hm... what's the difference? And how did he achieve it?

They have the aura of a wild animal and seem more agile, unlike the one I transfigured, which seemed more like a home-raised one.

Shaking off these thoughts, he decided to ask Dumbledore later if he couldn't figure it out during the duel. Andy became focused once again and waved his wand, using a complex transfiguration spell.

The ground around Dumbledore transformed into a shifting, quicksand-like mass of mud to hinder his movements.

To which, Dumbledore reacted instantly, launching a rapid sequence of spells; first, he used the levitation spell to lift himself slightly above the sinister mud.

He then countered with Aguamenti, washing away the mud using a powerful jet of water, revealing the ground again. Finally, he used the opportunity to cast the Repairing Charm, quickly mending any damage done to the area.

But before Dumbledore could land, with a rumbling sound, two sturdy, seven- to eight-foot-tall hands rose from either side of him, aiming to crush him like a bug.

Andy's eyes sparkled as he watched the hands; this is a move that he had always wanted to use in his previous life while watching martial arts films.

"Protego Totalum!"

As the hands were about to enclose and crush him, with everyone watching with their hearts in their throats, a comprehensive shield encompassed Dumbledore.

At the contact, ripples formed on the barrier, absorbing and rebounding the shock back to the hands, causing slight cracks, which healed swiftly under Andy's control.

The hands were relentless, gripping the shield like a water balloon and trying to crush it along with Dumbledore.

With a wide smile, Andy made the grip harder. He wanted to see how Dumbledore would counter this.

Would he use Apparition to leave the spot when the Shield Charm fails to hold out? Or would he use a lethal spell? Or does he have some other way?

Andy's confident that Dumbledore can't take control of them this time, like how he did with those stones.

Dumbledore remained calm as usual, just maintaining the Shield Charm.

But with the cracks appearing, he needs to make his move now.

Just as Andy expected, Dumbledore stopped channelling his magic to shield charm to cast another spell.

In the next instance, just as the shield charm broke, Dumbledore chanted, "Diffindo!"

The broken and cracked parts of the shield charm turned into blue wind-like blades and cut the hands into thin pieces.

"Good thinking, but you should be more gentle with an old man at the end of his journey and use ordinary spells." Dumbledore half-joked with a calm smile. While waving his wand to condense water droplets out of air with just a transfiguration spell, proving his skill as a master of transfiguration.

The water droplets elongated and transformed into ice needles and swiftly fell in Andy's direction like a crystal rain, reflecting moonlight.

"Ventus!" Andy chanted and cast the Windy Spell with all his might. Without being fully aware of how powerful his spells had become after the 'True Soul' transformation.

Instead of the expected jet of swirling wind, a tornado formed, affecting everything and sucking up the needles, clouds, sand, and snow—even Andy and others nearby— in just under a second, causing Andy to hurriedly cancel his spell.

After regaining their bearing, everyone looked at Andy with wide eyes.

Professor McGonagall, Hermione and Harry looked in stunned silence at the normal Windy Spell, which turned into a natural disaster-level spell.

Now Professor McGonagall understood why Dumbledore brought her here.

"Sorry, Professor, I didn't expect that a Windy Spell would reach this scale at full power." Andy scratched his head and said. "If I had known, I would have controlled the scale."

"Should we continue?" Looking at Dumbledore and others, he asked, breaking the silence.

"Andy, from this, you should've learned the consequences of uncontrolled power." Dumbledore advised, "You should never use such a spell in a public place without proper control and a full grasp of your power."

Thinking of the spell earlier, Dumbledore decided to stay at Hogwarts a bit longer and guide him to grasp his power through duels every weekend independently.

"Let's continue with just normal spells this time," Dumbledore said after a pause.

This time?

Andy felt overjoyed, understanding the hidden meaning.

When duelling with someone as powerful as Dumbledore, he could use his full power and learn his weakness just by casting spells.

They could use a more powerful spell if not for others being here.

Next, the duel continued with a mesmerising dance of charms and transfiguration. Both of them displayed remarkable skill and control; their movements were fluid and precise. The air crackled with magical energy, and the surrounding ground was covered with the remnants of spells cast and countered.

The following duel was a demonstration of their magical prowess, a display of defensive and offensive techniques finely honed over years of practice. The outcome remained uncertain, a tight and thrilling exchange that the three watched on the edge in awe, with their wand held tight, under the protection of Professor McGonagall's shield charm.

The sight of ordinary and normal spells being so reality-altering made Hermione and Harry yearn to practice more and master such a power.
