Chapter 783: Chapter 783: Mythical Creature
On the silent, dark night, under the silver moonlight, the sound of spell clashing and the red and blue beams of magic were more prominent.
The two beams clashed, producing sparks at the intersection point. The red beam slowly started to push the blue beam back, increasing the tension of the onlookers.
When the confrontation of magic power clearly became unfavourable to him, Dumbledore cut off the magic connection with the spell and sidestepped, avoiding Andy's spell. Which, despite being a stunning spell, made a loud noise, breaking the dry, withered tree some distance behind him.
Feeling tired, Dumbledore decided to end it for the night.
Because, with this, he had already figured out Andy's greatest strength. His magic is truly powerful; from that Windy spell to the previous magic confrontation, everything proved it.
The only thing he lacks now is the fine control of power and experience. Both of them are something that could be gained with time.
Since no one can control Andy anymore if he ends up walking on the wrong path, if he leaves. Then he just has to make sure Andy can control himself and his power better before he leaves Hogwarts.
The next duels will be used to help him control his power, while his family and friends could tie him to society and anchor his humanity and bottomline.
Dumbledore shook his head and came back to his senses, and focused on Andy, who was now looking at him without attacking once again.
Well, now it's time to finish this duel.
"Let's stop for today. It's time for dinner." Dumbledore exhaled deeply, lowered his wand, and spoke. "Let's continue some other time."
Looking at the potholes, broken and withered trees, boulders, and a changed landscape with mud, pools, and barbed vines. He continued after a pause. "Well, let's clean this place up before leaving."
Although Andy feels a bit tired and doesn't mind leaving, he still wants to try one more spell and learn whether rumours about Dumbledore's spell are true and, if it's true, learn how he did it.
But looking at the surrounding environment, he felt he should fix the place before asking.
For Andy, today's duel was quite successful, so he's already quite content.
First, Andy was able to confirm that his magic power is stronger than Dumbledore's, who has the Elder Wand. Which is good news to him.
Although his experience and mastery of spells are slightly inferior to Dumbledore's, which was expected considering their age.
Andy felt happy because he could overpower Dumbledore if he ever needed to confront him, just by spamming powerful spells and working with Fat Cat.
Whether Dumbledore concealed his strength at the final confrontation or not is not relevant. The fact that he overpowered him was all that mattered to Andy.
For wizards, confidence is one of the most important factors. If you're confident in your ability, it will help with better spell-casting.
The second good news is Dumbledore's words – Let's continue some other time.
This signifies that he could use him as a toolman to practice fine control and gain experience.
"When will be the next time, Professor?" Andy asked, waving his wand, to use transfiguration to change the potholes first.
For the perfect conclusion, all that's left is seeing Dumbledore's Patronus and asking him how he did it if his Patronus turned out to be a Phoenix.
It might give him some ideas to perfect the magical creature Animagus transformation – the fusion of body and true soul.
"Reparo!" Dumbledore first used the Repairing Charm on the trees, causing the splinters, wood dust, and broken parts to return to their original places as if time had rewound before answering, "Hm... How about next Saturday?"
"No problem, Professor." Andy replied and continued his work with a smile.
Looking at his smile, Dumbledore shook his head with a slight smile and continued with his work.
It is good that he asked about the duel himself and didn't change his mind unpredictably.
While they were fixing the place, seeing they had stopped the duel, Professor McGonagall and the other two also approached and started to help.
The three seemed to be lost in their own thoughts, thinking about the duel, causing awkward silence as each fixed a place on their own.
When everything mostly returned to their original appearance, Dumbledore said, "I will call Fawkes to take us back."
Before he could summon it, Andy interrupted him and asked, "Professor, there is one more spell I want to try and ask some advice on."
When everyone turned to him and looked at him with question marks, Andy coughed and chanted, "Expecto Patronum!"
With a blinding silver light, a giant silver-blue cat appeared, a bit bigger than the last time he summoned it.
As the eyes of Harry and Professor McGonagall seemed like they were about to burst out, Andy asked, "Although Fat Cat started to grow big like Andros the Invincible's Patronus, I still can't transform him like yours, Professor."
"So, if you can, I want advice on how to do that."
Andy decided to ask in a certain tone, like he's sure that Dumbledore's Patronus is a Phoenix, as if he learned about it from Grindelwald or someone who saw his Patronus, to prevent him from denying it.
Before Dumbledore could speak, Harry, who had recovered from shock, circled the Fat Cat and asked in an excited tone, "Andy, how is your Patronus so big?!"
"Can mine grow this big too?!"
For this, Dumbledore answered, "Love, Harry, love."
"Do you know what magic is?"
Seeing Harry confused by the sudden question, Dumbledore swept a glance at the other and answered himself, addressing everyone, "Magic is a miraculous power."
"From ancient times, no one was able to decipher the true nature of magic. So they tried to understand and decipher something easier than that: the power of mind and emotions."
"During research, they found out about the miraculous power of love. Through which they wanted to delve deeper into magic."
"Even muggles and animals can use the power of love to achieve miraculous feats."
Dumbledore gazed at Harry for a second before saying, "Like how mothers can burst with supernatural power when protecting their children."
"For the revenge of a loved one, even the laziest person can change and work harder than most people."
"In magic, the power of love is capable of achieving various miraculous results, like how even the unforgivable curse can be countered."
Dumbledore turned to Andy and said with a wave of his wand, causing blinding light to appear once again, "Like how this is possible."
"Expecto Patronum."
When the light dimmed a bit, a silver-blue phoenix with wavy, fire-like feather tops appeared before their eyes.
Looking at his Patronus, Dumbledore said, "At first, my Patronus was an eagle."
"Only later, when I recognised my love for teaching and my students, it transformed."
"When all the self-doubts you have of your love vanish, and you feel your pure love, your magic and Patronus can feel it as well and respond to it."
"You should never forget the importance of mind and emotion to magic. When you can feel a certain emotion in its raw and pure state, the spell connected to that emotion will undergo transformation."
Andy looked at the Patronus and pondered over Dumbledore's words. Thinking about how to achieve it.
