Hokage:Overturning Ninja world

Chapter 54: Chapter 54: Uchiha Itachi Is a Traitor!

Konan… got hit!

Deidara stared in disbelief, stunned by the sight. A rush of thoughts raced through his mind. Though obsessed with art and often appearing eccentric, Deidara wasn't foolish. One couldn't master a technique as intricate and deadly as explosive clay without a sharp mind.

Something was wrong. Seriously wrong.

Logan was strong—everyone knew that. But even with his strength, he shouldn't have been able to dominate a fight against Konan, Deidara, and Uchiha Itachi all at once.

Deidara quickly replayed the entire battle in his head. When did things start to fall apart?

Then it hit him.

"It started from the very beginning," Deidara muttered, realization dawning in his eyes. "The moment Itachi cast that genjutsu..."

That should've been their advantage. Itachi was famous for his illusions—his Sharingan was deadly in its precision. But Logan had resisted it without even breaking a sweat.

"No one knew Logan could summon more than one Stand. No one... except Uchiha Itachi."

Itachi was the one who spread the idea that Logan could only summon one evil spirit at a time. That piece of misinformation had prompted Konan to rush in, thinking she had the upper hand—and led to her capture.

Deidara turned toward the battlefield again.

He hovered above on his clay bird. Konan was now restrained at close range, while Itachi stood far from the fight, untouched.

Deidara's eyes narrowed.

"You're… you're not a spy for Konoha, are you?"

If that were true, it would explain everything. Logan and Itachi were both from Konoha. And this time, Itachi had insisted on coming along despite having been so passive in previous missions.

Deidara's thoughts sharpened with fury.

"Was this a setup? Did Konoha see that Konan—the deputy leader of Akatsuki—would be here, and decide to spring a trap?!"

Though Deidara often acted impulsively, he wasn't naive. Ōnoki, the Third Tsuchikage, had always treated him with care. Deidara had been trained well, and betrayal was something he had never truly faced.

Until now.

He heard Itachi shout from below:

"Drop all your explosives—dragons, birds, clay bombs! I'll back you up with Amaterasu! We'll seal him in completely!"

Itachi's voice was urgent, but something about it rang hollow.

Logan had survived everything so far, even regenerating lost limbs. Itachi's plan sounded logical—saturate the area with high-yield explosions and burn him with Amaterasu—but Deidara wasn't buying it.

He leaned out from his bird and screamed down at Itachi:

"Blow your mother up!!!"

If he listened to Itachi and used up all his explosives, he'd be completely defenseless. It was a setup. He was sure of it now.

Itachi and Logan were in on this together.

"They've been acting the whole time! Using me as bait!"

Without wasting another second, Deidara pulled back on the clay bird and vanished into the sky, disappearing into the clouds.

Uchiha Itachi stood silently below, his heart sinking as he watched Deidara flee.

He hadn't intended this outcome.

He had burned a massive amount of chakra using Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi. He was drained—and Logan was still standing, barely winded, now capable of summoning two Stands simultaneously.

"If I could only summon Susanoo again…"

He focused his chakra, and the ethereal red ribs of Susanoo began to form—but they vanished in the next second. His body rejected it. After their previous confrontation, Itachi hadn't been able to summon Susanoo again.

He was out of options.

"I need to retreat and regroup. I'll have to try to assassinate him another time."

Casting one last look at Logan, Itachi dissolved into a flock of crows and vanished.

Silence fell over the battlefield.

Logan didn't give chase.

Itachi was already too far and fleeing fast. Logan glanced down at Konan, who now lay unconscious, eyes glazed. She had mentioned her "ideals," and for a moment, Logan considered her words. Maybe… maybe he'd spare her until he could see her memories.

"Is it over?" one of the spies hiding in the shadows whispered.

None of them dared blink. They waited, bracing themselves for another surprise attack.

Ten seconds passed.

Then twenty.

It was over.

This historic battle was truly over.

Yakushi Kabuto collapsed to the ground, still in disbelief. What he had witnessed defied logic.

Logan had charged into the enemy's domain, defeated the First Hokage's clone, killed Orochimaru, captured Konan, scared off Deidara, and forced Uchiha Itachi to retreat.

"What kind of monster is this…?"

"Would you mind bringing me a cup of tea?"

Kabuto blinked. He wasn't hallucinating. Logan really had asked that.

He moved like a puppet, his body obeying before his mind could catch up. He poured tea from the nearby kettle and handed it over with trembling hands.

Logan smiled faintly.

"Thanks."

He looked around. Eyes peered at him from the shadows—some filled with awe, others with fear, hate, desire, confusion.

So many emotions.

Logan raised his cup and addressed them all, his voice steady:

"This was a personal matter between Orochimaru and me. It has nothing to do with the rest of you."

He took a slow sip, letting the words sink in.

"But… if anyone here wants to avenge Orochimaru, I understand. You're welcome to step forward."

He finished his tea, placing the cup back in Kabuto's hands, then stood.

No one moved.

No one spoke.

Not one of Orochimaru's former allies dared lift a finger.

"Thanks," Logan said again to Kabuto before turning away.

He sheathed the Destruction Sword on his back, lifted Konan's unconscious body, and walked away without looking back.

---

Konan woke to cold wind brushing against her face.

A breeze rustled the leaves above her. She was lying in a quiet forest under a starry sky, a fire crackling softly behind her.

A blanket had been thrown over her. It was still warm, faintly smelling of… Logan.

Her eyes snapped open—but ninja instincts told her to play dead.

She turned, groaned softly, and peeked from under half-lidded eyes.

Logan sat a few meters away, tending the fire. He was roasting something—meat, maybe—and didn't seem alarmed or even interested in her waking up.

"He didn't kill me?"

Konan remembered the last thing she'd seen: the white snake and Star Platinum descending on her at once.

She had truly thought she was dead.

But she was alive.

And that meant a chance.

Konan began forming hand signs beneath the blanket, intending to escape out of Logan's range and report back to Nagato.

But just as the chakra surged within her, something felt wrong.

A foreign command—one not of her own mind—rang out in her heart:

You cannot run. You must stay by Logan's side and obey him.

Her body froze.

She clenched her chest, breathing heavily. The jutsu she was forming collapsed.

What was happening?

"Now that you're awake, stop pretending to be asleep."

Logan's calm voice cut through the night.

Konan sat up instantly, covering her chest. She could feel it—that unnatural compulsion radiating from deep within her.

"What… what did you do to me?!" she shouted.
