Chapter 21: Chapter 21 : The Third Phase of the Hunter Exam V
Everyone stared at the arena seriously, curious to know the outcome of the final clash.
Although Touta was immortal and couldn't die, Kuroumaru was sure he would surrender if he lost in this last battle, as that was Touta's character.
Soon, the dust cleared, revealing Touta standing while the ground beneath his feet was destroyed, and Ken, who was lying on the ground with a fist-sized hole in his chest.
"Why..." Ken asked in a hoarse voice, staring quietly at Touta.
Touta certainly knew what Ken meant by his question.
"I'm not ungrateful enough to destroy your head," Touta said. Had he not sensed Ken's desire to die in battle, he wouldn't have killed him, as Ken had been kind to him.
"I see..." Ken mumbled and closed his eyes with a satisfied smile. He had dreamed of dying in battle, not rotting in prison.
"Officer, can I take his body and give him a proper burial?" Touta asked, staring at the giant screen.
"Do what you want," Lippo replied. Although it wasn't allowed, he decided to look the other way this time. "You've earned the right to proceed."
After Lippo spoke, another corridor opened from the battlefield toward the side while the door closed. The other prisoners couldn't do anything, as the handcuffs were sealing their Nen.
"Kuroumaru, can you store Ken's body like you do with the swords?" Touta asked, looking at Kuroumaru, who had reached his side.
"I'll try," Kuroumaru said, touching Ken's body lying on the ground, causing a magical circle to appear beneath it before it vanished.
"Thank you, Kuroumaru," Touta smiled happily, pleased to see that it had worked. He felt sympathy for Ken, remembering what had happened to the criminal Mechi had killed.
"Let's go," Mechi said, walking toward the newly opened door. Although she was curious about Kuroumaru's ability, she didn't say anything, as she wasn't the best at communication.
"That's right," Touta nodded, sealing his aura in his body and walking behind Mechi with Kuroumaru.
After dealing with the prisoners, they had to run through a narrow corridor, with a giant stone ball rolling behind them. They then had to jump from one place to another over a lava pit, and later ride a minecart on a dilapidated railroad track... and so on.
Although this might be difficult for ordinary applicants, Touta and the others easily made it through everything.

Stone Hall
This stone hall was at the center of the tower and was the final destination for everyone. However, it was empty now, as no one had completed the Trick Tower until then.
At that time, one of the stone doors opened, and Touta came out, followed by Kuroumaru and Mechi.
[Applicant number 407 is the first to arrive, with an estimated time of 02:31 and 3 seconds.]
[Applicant number 406 is the second to arrive, with an estimated time of 02:31 and 5 seconds.]
[Applicant number 47 is the third to arrive, with an estimated time of 02:31 and 7 seconds.]
When the three arrived, their arrival was announced through the speakers hanging on the room's walls.
"So, do we have to wait here for 70 hours?" Touta asked, clearly not bothered by the idea.
"It seems like that's the case," Kuroumaru said, staring at the empty hall. There was nothing except for the fire torches and closed stone doors.
While the two were talking, Machi didn't say anything. She walked toward a secluded corner, sitting silently with her eyes closed.
"Do you want to play cards?" Touta asked with a smile, pulling out a new deck of cards from his shirt pocket. "And you, Machi-chan, do you want to play with us?"
"Sure," Kuroumaru nodded, as he wasn't in the mood to train or quietly observe everything.
"... " Machi opened her eyes and stared at the two for a moment before nodding and standing up. "No problem playing, but I don't play without a bet."
"A bet? Sure," Touta nodded without hesitation. "How about the loser has to pay a million Jenny or remove a piece of clothing?"
"Clothes!!..." Kuroumaru could only feel embarrassed, as he didn't expect such a bet to be made.
"Alright," unlike Kuroumaru, Machi didn't hesitate to accept the bet, confident in her skills at card games.
"Then it's decided!" Touta cheered as he sat on the floor. Machi followed suit and sat as well, but he noticed Kuroumaru was still stunned. "What's wrong, Kuroumaru?"
"T-Touta-kun, don't you think taking off clothes is a bit much?" Kuroumaru said, embarrassed, feeling like he would die from the shame just imagining it.
"What are you saying? Machi-chan is a girl, but she didn't say anything while you're complaining like a man," Touta said, but his gaze shifted to suspicion. "Or are you really a girl?"
"I'm a man!!" Kuroumaru shouted, embarrassed, sitting down. His eyes burned with determination, as he felt there was no turning back and no choice but to win. "I will definitely win."
"That's the spirit we need!" Touta smiled and began shuffling the cards, thinking about what game they would play.
"... " Machi stared seriously at Kuroumaru, curious about his gender. She couldn't believe he was a man and felt the urge to make him remove his clothes to confirm his gender.
And so, the three began playing the game Babanuki.
