Chapter 916: Finale-3
It was cathartic to hear his rumblings. It's like he was describing his own life in fine details. Whatever he accused Samuel of doing, he was doing it too. It's like he had lost his mind forgetting about his vow to not cross the white devil.
" Shut up!" Bernard roared and gave a heavy slap whoch woke Alan up from his stupid stupor.
" Father...you?" Alan was stunned. He looked at his father's pained expression but it didn't register in his mind why he would hit his own son. He was never beaten in his life, hell, his father never even raised his voice when scolding him.
Bernard was also helpless seeing his son behaviour. He never knew his son would be so stupid that he had to resort to violence just to save him. He had a massive headache looking at Alan clutching his face with a shocked expression of disbelief on his face. He should have handled it better, that's all he could think right now.
But Alexis wasn't a forgiving type," Mr Alan, I know you are not the brightest of bunch but I never thought you were this stupid. You father is only trying to save you. You might think you are a bigshot but you have to be aware how you should behave infront of others.
It's just business, unlike you I like to seperate it from my personal life." She glanced at Samuel first seeing the frosty expression on his face.

Alan also sobered up after the slap, finally understanding the gravity of his words. Like he said Samuel wasn't keen on forgiveness, falsely accusing him of anything inappropriate would only lead to a gloomy future. It would not only implicate him but everyone around him.
" I also want to point out your other stupid actions. You say I am chasing you but what about you daily night trips to that bar? You said you have left your past behind and doesn't mingle with that crowd but you broke your promise again and again. From clubhouse to seedy motels, I have countless instances of you running out on my over these past few months.
Just the other day you spent three to four days holed up with that socialite without even caring about me, should I forgive you for that too?" She said in a calm tine but everyone heard it. The dirty laundry was getting aired out in front of the guest but at this point she didn't care.
She wanted to make him understand even if there was something between them, he was the one who broke their trust.
He had been unfaithful throughout their partnership, she would never allow a man like him to touch her. He might have money and some looks but his character was rotten.
She also knew about rumours regarding Samuel but for some reason, she could feel he wasn't completely different from Alan. She might know more about his circumstances in the future but right now she was going with her gut feeling and trusted him.
" This...I..I already said..this.." Alan began stammering. It's been a long time since he had to explain to anyone. What he did was his own matter, why would he ever explain what he did to any of his girls? That's right, in his eyes Alexis was just another girl who was beneficial to him.
He knew there could never be any feelings involved because he was never in her type to begin with. Her fiery personality coupled with her stubbornness was something he could never handle. Just like her, he ws planning to let her go after he was done with her!
" There is a reason why I am so frustrated with you. Do you remember the night when I called you about the Count Hey's shares? You hung up on me telling me it wasn't important. He had four percent of the company shares, do you think that's not important?" She started laughing maniacally.
" Do you what happened next? I went to him and he strung me along for hours. I waited and waited but you never came. That's when I heard you were busy making love to that socialite again. Another shocking fact came when your sister asked me to meet her. I found out they were the ones who bought his shares at a steep price.
If not for your carelessness, this, all this would never have happened. But you were too busy to care about anything else!" She practically roared at her last sentence.
Months of pressure was boiling over as she poured everything, every little detail of how he fucked up her plan. Her words cut deep into Alan's psyche.
He never knew what was happening behind the scenes. He finally understood his arrogance had costed him greatly.
" After seeing you practically failing me at every turn, I decided it was best to jump off the sinking ship and focus my time and attention on someone who cared about the business. Delphina came to me with a proposal that I couldn't refuse.
What's funny is you never would have guessed that your so called foolish sister was the mastermind behind all of it." She chuckled as she looked at Delphina who just shrugged signalling that it was okay to share.
" The social butterfly that you were so fond off was only there on your sister's orders. She was only playing her part to distract you and you fell for it as usual. Your obsession made your careless which meant you lost the battle even it began." Alexis was done with her tirade.
She had said enough and from the shocking look on Alan's face, it was well worth it. His massive ego must have taken a huge hit which was her goal all along!
" You..you..." Alan looked at three of them not knowing what to say. His eyes were red as his body was violently shaking. It's like he was having a heart attack as his world crumbled around him.
Everyone could only give their sympathy for both son and father as they truly lost their game. A father who believed too much in tradition ignoring his competence and his son the laughing stock of the city who thought himself as a king among clowns. The climax was over but there was still the ending credit left.
