Chapter 132: my type(chapter 131)

Chapter 131

If confusion was a sentence, then it would have been written on everybody's face as Gray looked at his hand, stained with Shimmer, which he sniffed before exhaling. "Hmm, smells like petrol, but also a drug. It's addictive and also mutative. It's a fuel, a drug, and a mutation agent," he commented from a single sniff before freezing the Shimmer off his hand. He then turned toward the remaining attackers before extending his icy hand and gesturing for them to come, snapping the attackers out of their daze as they charged at him immediately. Gray froze the ground beneath the first attacker, making it erupt into several spikes of ice that impaled and killed him. He then had enough time to freeze the Shimmer inside the body and extract it with a single gesture, just as another attacker reached him. Gray took a step back, letting the attacker miss his strike before grabbing him by the back of his suit and pulling him back with such force that he slammed him into the ground, cracking the floor beneath him.

Gray then stomped on the attacker, breaking the glass in his suit and freezing the Shimmer inside him just as another attacker tried to sneak behind him. Caitlyn fired a shot at the attacker, who didn't flinch and continued his charge, his strike landing on Gray's head—or about to—when Gray's wings formed a shield. The attacker's suit started to glow silver before exploding into smithereens, leaving only the Shimmer intact. The last attacker then charged at Gray, who took a deep breath before exhaling a stream of fire so hot that it melted the suit, leaving only the purple liquid preserved. Gray collected the Shimmer just as the Piltover reinforced officers arrived, leading them was a towering, muscular woman with deep brown skin and striking white hair—voluminous, wild, and flowing behind her shoulders.

Her face bore the hardened lines of a seasoned warrior, with piercing eyes exuding dominance and strength. A deep scar ran across her cheek. She wore an imposing black and gold chest plate, segmented for mobility while providing solid protection. A crimson sash draped around her waist, adding a regal yet fearsome touch. Her large, angular pauldrons were reinforced with metallic plating, giving her a broad and intimidating silhouette. Her arms were protected by heavy gauntlets with intricate engravings, and her lower half was clad in dark armored greaves with red accents, allowing both agility and durability. She wielded a massive war axe with a serrated, crescent-shaped blade, its edges etched with Noxian symbols. The weapon was connected to a thick chain, allowing her to use it as both a melee and ranged weapon, emphasizing her brutal and calculated combat style. In her other hand, she carried a reinforced shield with a spiked, aggressive design, capable of both defense and offense, perfectly complementing her overwhelming battlefield presence. She, along with everyone else, saw Gray standing among the dead attackers. His figure was just as towering as Ambessa's, who studied him for a second before walking toward him, as he did the same. When they were inches away from each other, she pointed her war axe at him. "And who might you be?" she asked.

Gray studied her for a second before answering, "A tourist, from a very, very distant land," his voice coming out rough. Ambessa studied him for a second before stepping closer. She was shorter than Gray, yet she commanded the same imposing aura as she asked again, "What are your intentions?" Gray stared back at her with the same intense gaze she gave him before replying, "Sightseeing. I heard that Piltover is a place that couples often visit." She frowned as she looked around before saying, "Couples? I don't see your partner." Much to everyone's shock, Rachel revealed herself bebind Ambessa and said, "Turn around." Ambessa, who didn't flinch unlike her soldiers, turned to see Rachel, whom she studied for a second. Rachel continued, "Now you see her." Ambessa chuckled as Gray returned to his normal form, which again shocked everyone. But the one who was most amused was Ambessa, who studied him with a smile before bluntly saying, "Perhaps we should have a lengthy chat back in my quarters."

She said this in front of everyone, including her daughter Mel, who just facepalmed. However, someone who was not amused was Rachel, who surprisingly didn't flare up her domain as Gray expected. Instead, she just sighed and said, "No, he is quite busy enjoying the scenery." She then started to walk away before adding, "Hurry up, pretty boy." Gray paused for a second before smiling and saying, "Oh, I am the pretty boy?" before running after Rachel, who didn't stop. Ambessa and many onlookers watched them leave, but before they left the scene, Gray suddenly asked, "So are you jealous again?" Rachel ignored him as Gray persisted, "Were you really jealous of her?" Rachel replied, "No, because she isn't your type." Gray chuckled.

"You do know that my type is muscular women who are strong. If they can beat me, that's even a bonus," he said, making Rachel stop. She turned toward him before asking, "I thought your type was intelligent sorcerers and witches." Gray chuckled, much to the surprise of the onlookers who had just witnessed him decimate the Zaun attackers. Seeing the same person who had done all that laughing like a child made them pause for a second. "They are," Gray continued, "but so are warrior-type women or powerful businesswomen. In fact, my type of woman is a strong woman, whether that is physical, arcane, or mental. As long as the woman isn't a damsel in distress, they give me the ick." Rachel chuckled and said, "For someone who despises damsels in distress, you sure are one quite often." Gray smiled and replied, "That's because you are protective of me. You don't even let me play my cards before you swoop in, my knight in shining armor," he said as he nudged her shoulder while they walked away.

"Come on, we have Zaun to explore," Rachel said, much to the shock of everyone present. One enforcer muttered, "Who the fuck goes to Zaun for sightseeing?" Another whispered, "Some powerful noble people who are bored." Vi, finally speaking, added, "i am too sober for this shit. Time to grab another drink."

-scene change-

Zaun is a sprawling undercity nestled within the deep canyons and valleys beneath Piltover. Its labyrinthine streets are lined with towering industrial structures, interconnected by a web of corroded pipes and metal walkways. The air is thick with smog and chemical fumes, casting a perpetual haze over the city and filtering the limited light that reaches its depths. Buildings of stained glass and iron dominate the skyline, reflecting the city's moniker as the "City of Iron and Glass." The streets are bustling with activity, as residents navigate the narrow alleys and crowded marketplaces.
