Chapter 133: essence of transcendent shimmer(chapter 132)
Chapter 132
The pervasive scent of oil, metal, and industrial waste lingers in the air, a testament to the unregulated industries that thrive within Zaun's confines. Today, the residents were taken aback by Gray and Rachel, who looked quite noble—literally. Not only were they breathtakingly beautiful, but they both had an aura of superiority around them, meaning that they attracted attention like a fly toward a freshly rotten corpse. "Well, shall we?" Gray said as he bowed toward Rachel, who looked at him confused for a second. "Where to?" she asked as Gray just smiled.
They moved methodically through Zaun, hitting every building containing shimmer with precision. Gray utilized his humanoid chimera form, his body shifting seamlessly between his natural and enhanced state, allowing him to dispatch threats effortlessly. The shimmer was stored in reinforced steel containers, tucked away in dimly lit warehouses and underground facilities, guarded by those enhanced by the very substance they protected. However, to Gray, they were nothing more than minor inconveniences.
The surrounding environment was grimy and worn, the floors slick with oil residue, the walls covered in layers of soot and rust. The scent of chemicals was overwhelming, mingling with the ever-present stench of decay. The guards, their veins glowing faintly from the shimmer coursing through them, stood vigilant, their bodies augmented beyond human limitations. Yet, to Gray, they were still insignificant. He moved through them effortlessly, incapacitating each one without breaking a sweat.
Despite their enhancements, the guards posed no real threat, and Gray didn't even bother killing them. With swift and calculated movements, he rendered them unconscious, leaving them sprawled across the cold metal floors. There was no point in wasting energy on such weak opponents. With their path cleared, he and Rachel continued their relentless pursuit, their presence in Zaun leaving a mark that would not be forgotten anytime soon.
After hitting the last place containing shimmer, Gray and Rachel could be seen walking along an alleyway as Gray said, "Well, I think I have had enough of this world, unless there is more coming?" He looked at Rachel, who sighed before saying, "There is more," making Gray smile. While they were talking, another person draped in a hood was walking in front of them, and just as they were about to pass by each other, something or someone fell from above, landing on the hooded person. It turned out to be a blue-haired girl with two long ponytails. "Oof, that's gotta hurt," he said as he looked at Rachel, who was staring at the blue-haired woman.
"And I am guessing she is important," he said as he watched the two girls get up. That was right, the one who fell turned out to be a young girl. "That is Jinx, sister of the red-haired girl we met before," Rachel introduced, snapping the blue-haired girl out of her dizziness as she immediately drew her pistol and aimed at Rachel. "Who the fuck are you?" Jinx asked as Gray approached her, unafraid, kneeling down. "Hmm." He looked Jinx up and down while she moved her gun from Rachel as three men appeared, which Jinx quickly shot in succession. The only one to react was the little girl, as Rachel and Gray just stared at her. She then moved her gun and pointed it toward Gray's head. "You feel… the buzzing behind your eyes" she paused dramatically as she said, " because you know, in a moment, it could all boom," she said dramatically as Gray continued to stare at her.
"You… are pretty," Gray said, much to the shock of not only Jinx and the girl but also Rachel, whose eyes twitched. "Huh, it's weird, but you are definitely pretty," he said as he moved the gun to the side before leaning in further. Jinx didn't back off, too stunned, while the girl was stuck in between the two. Rachel then grabbed Gray by the back of his collar and literally lifted him up, making him face her. "You think she is pretty?" Rachel asked as she looked at him. "Yeah, can we adopt her?" he said, much to the shock of everyone present again. Jinx finally spoke, "Are you okay in the head?" she asked, as Rachel said, "Congrats, Gray Knight, you just got called crazy by the craziest woman in the city." Jinx complained, "I am not crazy, I am just not okay in the head," making Rachel sigh as she said, "That is the definition of being crazy, for god's sake," while Jinx cursed.
"Well, screw you two, lady," Jinx said as Rachel ignored her. "And adopt her? She is as old as me," Rachel said, much to Gray's surprise as he turned toward Jinx before saying, "Huh, I did not expect that." Rachel then dropped him. "Get up, we are leaving," she said as she walked away, passing Jinx. Rachel briefly stopped and stared at Jinx, who was sitting on the floor, before scoffing, "Beautiful, he said," before walking away. Gray got up and dusted himself off before walking after Rachel. "I didn't mean sexually, I promise," Gray said as he sped up his walk. That was when the young girl, Aisha, finally spoke, "You are all crazy," causing Jinx to look down at her.

[ Name: Essence of Transcendent Shimmer ]
[ Grade: Demi-god grade ]
[ Description: Crafted with a Level 12 Potion-Creation skill, this potion is the pinnacle of alchemical refinement, created from thousands of gallons of Shimmer that have been meticulously purified, condensed, and filtered to leave behind only 100ml of the purest, most potent Shimmer ever to exist—an essence so powerful that no naturally produced Shimmer for thousands of years could rival it.This potion grants the consumer an unparalleled transformation, elevating their body and mind beyond any known limits. Upon consumption, the user gains absolute superhuman enhancement, with strength, speed, agility, durability, and resilience magnified to an absurd degree, making them an unstoppable force on the battlefield. Unlike standard Shimmer, which leads to addiction and bodily degradation, this version perfectly harmonizes with the user's physiology, preventing mutations or long-term damage. The potion also bestows instant regeneration, allowing the user to recover from lethal wounds, including limb loss, organ failure, and near-total bodily destruction, provided their essence remains intact. However, such power comes at a cost. The user's body will radiate raw, unstable energy, warping the space around them, creating bursts of destructive force with every movement. Their mind will experience brief moments of hyper-awareness and detachment, making them feel disconnected from reality. The sheer potency of this potion means that the universe itself strains under its existence, and extended use may attract unknown cosmic forces seeking to reclaim the unnatural power bestowed upon the drinker. This potion stands as the ultimate evolution of Shimmer, offering perfection without corruption—but at the risk of shaking the very foundations of reality. ]
[ Deterioration-Rate: 100%, the freshness of the potions ]
Inside Pangea, Gray, who had finally purified and concentrated the thousands of gallons of Shimmer he stole, had made the purest form of Shimmer that would ever exist, which in turn became a demigod-grade potion. He was currently holding it, having spent days making it, but since Rachel was present and giving him glares, he had to stop to take regular showers and eat. All the while, Rachel was giving him the silent treatment, which he found quite cute, but now he had to focus. Sighing to himself, Gray took the potion, which immediately took effect as his body underwent metamorphosis. Rachel, who was waiting for this moment, got up, alert in case something went wrong, but luckily for them, nothing did.
