HP X LOTM : Please Call Me Mr. Error.

Chapter 400: Descent Into Chaos : Shifting Battlefield.

Even though Voldemort had responded appropriately, Laura wasn't shaken, because she had thought of this day multiple times in her head.

She knew she wanted Voldemort dead and she made sure that no matter what happened when she met him, she would leave him in a state worse than dead.

Taking a stance, Laura's fierce determination shone through her eyes.

It was clear that the tension was going to snap at any moment with Laura going to try and engage Voldemort in a close combat fight-

'NOW!'

Laura vanished from her position leaving behind sonic booms as she reappeared in a flash right in front of Voldemort.

And given that Voldemort couldn't sense her through his normal senses he was a little late in realising where she was, except even though Voldemort was a little late, he was too fast for Laura.

Before Laura could release the punch she'd cocked up for his chin, Voldemort stabbed his bone wand into Laura's neck, of course, it didn't go through since the wand itself was weaker than Laura's body, but it did leave her open to any spell he would use.

Loki's eyes widened when he saw Laura's speed and the posture the battle had frozen in when the two Saints stopped.

'Hey! That's my move you freak!'

'Don't copy me!' Loki wanted to scream.

Laura dodged Voldemort's wand at the last second causing the wand to pierce her shoulder instead. To prevent Voldemort from exploding her shoulder or directly killing her using the killing curse, Laura quickly kicked Voldemort in the chest with enough force to separate from him and create some distance.

"Can't even aim for a blind man?" Voldemort taunted, his lips taking on a smirk as he aimed for more, "Even that kid before you was a tougher opponent!" Voldemort.

Even though he couldn't use Beyonder means to manipulate Laura's emotions, he could still say things that were going to hurt her, and so he didn't hold back.

"Have you come to avenge your dead husband? Then don't worry, I shall send you right to him! You can tell him exactly how you failed once I defile your corpses and throw you into the Abyss along with your Husband for the demons to have fun with."

Laura's eyes reddened as her clenched fists shook with fierce energy flooded into her system by anger.

And before anyone could understand what was happening, the scenario devolved into an unbridled play of chaotic energy.

Loki did his best to keep track of the fight using his immense calculative abilities, but even he was finding it hard to keep up.

All he could normally see otherwise were the sudden sparks and bright flashes of light that rushed around from place to place as the flaming abyssal swords either missed Laura entirely and stabbed into the Earth, cleaving a trench so deep into the ground that it looked like a portal to the Abyss-

-or Laura forcefully grabbing them out of the air and freezing them to create ice swords before using those same ice swords to try and skewer Voldemort by launching them back at him as projectiles.

Laura fought against the flying swords, each clash and clang sending reverberations through her body as if she were striking diamonds.

Yet even though her body ached as it fought through the degradation that Voldemort induced into it with each strike by controlling poisonous flames, Laura kept pace.

Laura looked like a fiery tank that cared not for her own fragility as she rained down blow upon blow onto Voldemort.

And in a few seconds, Voldemort started to try and create some distance between them. Not because he was weaker or feared Laura, but because the woman was just being too forceful.

His slowly degrading mental condition was already slowing down his responses, but Laura's continuous blows tired his body too.

Being an Arbiter, Laura had immense physical strength, and she didn't hold back when using it, making sure each muscle in her body was focused on the singular cause of deleting Voldemort in every single strike that she unleashed.

In Voldemort blocked with a sword, she'd aim to cleave through the object her used to block her and then cleave Voldemort himself.

If Voldemort dodged and switched himself with a sword, she'd push herself closer to him irrespective of the abyssal swords burning her to make sure his dodge was wasted.

It was the dance of a mad, rabid, dog.

One which cared not for its own self and desired total death and destruction upon its enemy.

Eventually, Voldemort was tired of it and decided enough was enough.

He directed the several flaming Abyssal swords around him to barrage Laura without giving her a break, much like she was doing to him.

If the fight wasn't going to be based on skill, Voldemort was not kind enough to try and defeat Laura using skill. Instead, he showed her just how underpowered was against him.

So Voldemort laid a clear trap.

Voldemort made a single pathway to reach him through the barrage of swords that were being rained down upon Laura.

Laura could only reach him if she destroyed all the flaming swords. Meaning she could only reach Voldemort dead tired and exhausted from having fought meaninglessly against all that Voldemort had to offer before she reached him.

It was a simple trap, one that even Loki recognised because of how blatantly open it was.

It looked like asking a human to pull the trigger to their own death!

But to Voldemort's excitement and Loki's shock, Laura moved closer and closer towards Voldemort. Not by thinking of a clever solution to skip the problem that Voldemort had set up, or even using some special ability to make it easier.

Laura looked like she could only see the way through the flaming swords that Voldemort was showing her.

Her eyes were focused like she was a mad bull being shown red.

And her body moved through the pattern that Voldemort exposed to her as she did everything in her power to reach Voldemort.

This wasn't a completely out of field response since if Laura outlasted Voldemort in his trap, she would undoubtedly gain the upper hand.

And since Voldemort had already slowly started corrupting her with the help of the Abyssal Swords she was forced to act quickly, even if it was a brutal way, since wasting time searching for a plan and implementing it would only waste valuable time in which she would be corrupted even further!

She even had to make sure that the seed of Defilement within her didn't break out of confinement.

And on top of it all, Laura had to make sure that Voldemort didn't overpower her confinement of his abilities! If he was able to regain even one of his Beyodner Abilities the fight would be decided very easily and would become one sided.

'Woman!!!!'

Loki was tense and worried.

Partly because he'd come to admire Laura a little and also because he had a good raport with her since she let him do as he pleased with his wishing well stalls in Knockturn Alley.

But mostly because if Laura went down, his task to advance to Sequence 4 would become that much exponentially harder.

'Things probably aren't that simple…right?'

'Laura has a plan right!?' Loki thought whlie clipping his nails with worry.

'She probably has a plan and this is just bait!? Right!?'

The stakes were high and Loki knew it.

'Should I do it then!?'
