Chapter 427: Chapter 428: Moon Goddess, Artemis

Danmachi World.

At this moment, Alexander was holding Hestia waist as they soared through the skies, riding on Tohru's back. The wind rushed past them as the powerful dragon flew swiftly through the air.

Tohru's speed was remarkable—after all, she carried the noble bloodline of the Dragon King. Hestia, sitting in front of Alexander, was brimming with excitement.

"Alexander, is this an actual Iv9 Dragon? It feels completely different from the flying dragons Ganesha tamed!"

Hestia's eyes sparkled as she spoke. Alexander chuckled and affectionately ruffled her hair.

"Of course. Tohru may still be young, but once she matures, she'll be comparable to a god."

He recalled the lore of the Dragon King, whose might was said to rival the end of the world itself. Tohru, as the Dragon King's daughter, might not have reached that level yet, but her potential was undeniable.

"She's so fast! Look, Alexander! Look! Artemis's camp is just ahead!"

Hestia pointed excitedly toward the horizon. Following her gaze, Alexander spotted a cluster of small tents. Around the camp, several figures were bustling about, unaware of the visitors approaching from the skies.

However, as the massive dragon drew closer, the people below began to panic.

"Enemy attack!"

"It's a dragon! A dragon!"

"Sound the alarm! Everyone, retreat immediately!"

"Prepare to defend the camp!"

Amid the chaos, a tall, elegant figure emerged from one of the tents. She was a strikingly beautiful goddess with long, flowing blue hair that exuded an aura of heroism and grace.

This was Artemis, one of Olympus's main deities, the Moon Goddess, and the protector of hunting, archery, and the wilderness.

Artemis looked up at the approaching dragon with a mixture of shock and tension.

"A dragon of this magnitude? Impossible! This aura… it's far beyond that of an ordinary dragon," she murmured, her heart racing.

Artemis wasn't afraid of death, but the thought of losing the brave children around her filled her with dread.

"We cannot fight such a monster! Everyone, retreat immediately!"

"But, Goddess—"

"Retreat!" Artemis commanded with authority, her voice leaving no room for argument. Yet even as her Familia scrambled to follow her orders, it was already too late. The colossal dragon had landed before them.

"Wait, Artemis-sama! Look! There are people on its back!"

One of the Familia members pointed at the dragon. Two figures were seated on its back: a man with a calm demeanor and a cheerful girl with twin ponytails, frantically waving her arms.

"Artemis! It's me, Hestia!"

Hearing the familiar voice, Artemis's eyes widened. The goddess rushed forward in disbelief.

"Hestia!"

"Artemis!"

The two goddesses ran toward each other, their voices ringing with joy as they embraced.

"Hestia!"

"Artemis!"

"Hestia!"

"Stop shouting already!" Alexander finally interrupted, unable to contain his irritation. "You're acting like characters from a bad romance drama."

Hestia, still hugging Artemis, shot Alexander an annoyed glare.

"Hmph! A man like you wouldn't understand the bond between us girls."

Alexander sighed and shrugged, deciding it wasn't worth arguing. He'd learned by now that reasoning with women—especially goddesses—was a lost cause.

Artemis, still holding Hestia, finally calmed down enough to ask, "Hestia, why are you here? And what's with this dragon? Also, who is this man?"

Overwhelmed by the barrage of questions, Hestia shook her head. "One thing at a time, Artemis! This is Alexander. We're Familia now—no, that's not important right now! What matters is that you're in great danger! The monster below is terrifying! If you face it, you'll all be wiped out!"

"W-what?" Artemis was taken aback by her friend's words. She blinked in confusion. "Wait, are you saying you came all the way from Orario just to stop me?"

"Exactly!" Hestia nodded firmly, her expression serious. She glanced nervously at the members of Artemis's Familia, noting that the strongest among them was only Level 3. How could they hope to defeat such a monster?

But Artemis's face darkened. Instead of gratitude, she looked offended.

"Hestia," she said, her tone icy, "what is wrong with you? Are you suggesting that my Familia is so weak they can't handle this?"

Hestia hesitated, realizing her words had unintentionally insulted her friend. Gods like Artemis prided themselves on the strength and courage of their followers, and her warning must have felt like a slap in the face.

Gods might have little to occupy themselves with beyond enjoying the pleasures of life and maintaining their appearances, but their pride ran deep. And to Artemis, Hestia's actions were a direct challenge to that pride.
