Chapter 137: HHES: Chapter 137
Saiyu, with a burst of speed, charged towards Loki.
Saiyu's ability utilizes three Nen beasts: "Sight Monkey, Hearing Monkey, Speech Monkey."
Successfully hitting an opponent with all three deprives them of sight, hearing, and speech, rendering them unable to activate or maintain their abilities.
Even Enhanced-type Nen users, after being hit, would be thrown into disarray, their movements potentially predictable due to disrupted aura flow.
Of those present, Saiyu offered the best chance of disrupting Loki's abilities; hence Botobai's intervention.
The three Nen beasts swiftly approached Loki. Loki, observing the three monkeys gesticulating in the air, blinked slowly. Their aura was relatively weak, insignificant to Loki.
However, Nen beasts usually assist their users in combat, often possessing unique abilities.
The monkeys' weak aura suggested they weren't meant for direct confrontation but for support; they were meant to be a distraction, not a primary offensive force.
Loki's immediate priority was to avoid being hit.
However, his flames had already erupted. Loki raised both hands, aiming to incinerate two of the Nen beasts with his flames.
But, the instant Loki made his move, two of the Nen beasts simultaneously used the third as leverage, redirecting their trajectory mid-air.
Bang! Bang! The two Nen beasts' attacks were weak, but their speed was considerable. Two punches landed on Loki.
He felt no pain, but in the next second, his vision and hearing were gone, his Nen flow disrupted. The accumulated flames erupted violently.
Saiyu's eyes flashed. "He's hit! His abilities are disabled. Sight Monkey, Hearing Monkey, return!" The Speech Monkey continued its advance towards Loki.
The unleashed flames spread instantly.
The expanding flames rapidly filled the four Zodiac members' vision.
"Get out of the way!"
"Damn it, was that a success or a failure?!"
The three exclaimed, scattering to find cover. Botobai, after a moment's hesitation, also leaped back to avoid the flames' impact.
Boom! The expanding flames swept across the area, engulfing everything within sight. A series of explosions echoed.
Outside, further explosions punctuated the air as flames erupted from the top of the building, climbing to even higher floors.
The intense heat scorched the building's exterior glass, causing it to crack and shatter, sending shards raining down onto the plaza below.
The crowd in the plaza looked up, their gazes fixed on the building's upper floors.
"More flames! What in the world is causing such terrifying flames?"
"Is it a bomb?!"
"Could the flames be...?"
"Look! Someone's jumping!"
The terrified crowd watched a figure plummet from the building's upper floors, falling at an alarming speed. After a few seconds of stunned silence, the crowd erupted in panicked shouts.
"Get out of the way! Get out of the way!"
A large area quickly cleared in the plaza as the figure, having leaped from a high floor, fell directly towards the empty space.
Thud! A tremendous sound echoed as the figure impacted the ground, kicking up a dense cloud of dust. The ten members maintaining order in the plaza exchanged worried glances.
"Chairman!"
"Pyon!" Gel, Saccho, and Cluck rushed towards the dust cloud.
"Ohruru! That was quite a drop! Almost twisted my ankle," Netero's voice boomed from within the dust cloud.
The crowd in the plaza paused, their eyes fixed on the dissipating smoke.
"Why did you make me jump, Chairman? I wanted to keep watching Botobai and the others fight! It was such a rare opportunity," Pyon complained, her expression clearly disgruntled.
The smoke gradually cleared, revealing Netero in a massive crater he'd made upon impact.
"Chairman, are you alright?!" the three inquired anxiously.
Netero waved a dismissive hand. "I'm fine." He turned to Pyon, whose dissatisfaction was evident. "I brought you down because the next phase of this fight is beyond your capabilities."
Netero rubbed his shoulder. "Leave this to me. After all, I'm the one who trained this monster, and it's only right that I handle it myself."
"The Chairman will fight personally?" Geilu exclaimed, surprised. "Couldn't someone else handle it? There's no need for the Chairman to personally engage a single child."
"Chairman, leave it to us! We are your chosen Twelve!"
"Please stay here, Chairman! If the Twelve Zodiacs, personally selected by you, can't even handle one child, then we don't deserve our title," another member added, their voices filled with a mixture of concern and determination.
Netero surveyed the group, a faint smile playing on his lips.
"It's not that I doubt your abilities; I simply wish to handle this myself," he stated calmly, his gaze lifting towards the upper floors of the building where the flames still raged.
"Alright, there's no need to say any more. I've made my decision," Netero declared, turning and heading towards the building's entrance, effortlessly closing the door behind him.
The other members of the Twelve Zodiacs attempted to follow, but Netero's sharp gaze stopped them in their tracks.
"Do you think I've become too old to fight?!" he questioned, his voice carrying a hint of both amusement and challenge.
"But Chairman—"
Before the Twelve Zodiacs could fully articulate their concerns, Netero had already entered the building, firmly shutting the door behind him.
Pyon exchanged a glance with the others. "Don't worry. Since the Chairman wants a workout, let him have it. That kid, no matter how strong, is no match for the Chairman."
Saccho chuckled softly, his head bowed. "That's not what I'm worried about..."
And Saccho wasn't alone in his apprehension. The others shared a similar concern. Their worry wasn't about the outcome of the fight itself, but rather about whether Netero could bring himself to truly harm Loki.
After all, Loki had learned Nen under Netero's personal tutelage—a unique honor bestowed upon only Loki in the past decade or so, even surpassing the training received by the esteemed members of the Twelve Zodiacs.
As Netero disappeared back into the Hunter Association building, a hush fell over the plaza, lasting only a few seconds before the crowd erupted in a wave of excitement.
"The Chairman's going to fight personally!"
"Wonderful! With the Chairman's intervention, there's absolutely no doubt that everything will be resolved without issue!"
