I Am Raditz

Chapter 81: Chapter 81: Forced Assimilation!

This world contains many "cheat" techniques that nearly bypass level and combat power limitations—moves like Solar Flare, Evil Containment Wave, and the Destructo Disc. Earth seems to have gathered all these magical skills. Although Earthlings lack raw power, they possess a profound understanding of martial arts.

The Destructo Disc compresses high-speed rotating energy into a disk shape before launching it. If this attack connects, even Frieza could be cut in two!

As the spinning energy disc flew rapidly toward Frieza, closing the distance with each passing moment, the tyrant's body suddenly tensed before he leapt into the air!

Though unable to sense energy, the sound of wind and noise generated by the disc's high-speed rotation had alerted him, causing him to instinctively avoid the cutting attack. The Destructo Disc continued its path, slicing cleanly through a nearby hill.

On the other side, Krillin, having missed his target, immediately ducked into a mountain crevice. Taking advantage of this moment, Raditz and Goku also slipped into the valley to rest, taking Krillin's Senzu Beans and quickly swallowing them.

This time, they were only seriously injured rather than on the brink of death. As a result, the improvement to their combat effectiveness was limited.

At that moment, several more figures were flying through the air, arriving slightly behind the others.

"Huh? Is that Nail and the others?" Krillin exclaimed.

"That's right, it's them. These fools are simply going to die," Vegeta said disdainfully, unconcerned about the Namekians' fate.

By the time Nail and the others arrived, Frieza had already begun regaining his vision, slowly adjusting to the light. They had come to help on the Grand Elder's orders, never expecting to encounter Frieza in his fury after being attacked!

How could Frieza tolerate being humiliated by Earthlings and Vegeta? The moment his eyes half-opened, he swept his arm in a wide arc, creating a purple-red energy whip that split the sky.

Before the few remaining Namekian fighters could assess the situation, Frieza's wrathful attack had already struck. Only Nail, who reacted in time and bent backward at an impossible angle, avoided being sliced in half!

The others, having arrived in haste, were buried before they could even make their presence known.

Shock froze on their faces as their bisected bodies sprayed blood and fell to the ground.

Suddenly, a figure leaped from the water, snatching three dying Namekians before rushing to shore. This figure was also covered in blood, leaving a trail of purple blood across the sea's surface like spilled dye.

Lord Slug was still alive! Dragging his crippled body, he desperately intercepted his equally crippled Namekian brethren.

Witnessing this, Raditz was stunned. Among the various strategies he had devised to defeat Frieza, one plan involved Piccolo assimilating all the warrior-type Namekians. It seemed Slug had the same idea.

Could Slug be planning to do exactly that?

Meanwhile, Nail flew toward Piccolo—the Grand Elder had ordered him to merge with Piccolo to create a unified force against powerful enemies. He had brought all the Namekian fighters, intending to strengthen Piccolo in one fell swoop, but Frieza had acted first, destroying their plan. Worse still, the evil Lord Slug had captured his wounded comrades. Nail suspected Slug intended to force assimilation!

Combat-type Namekians could greatly increase their strength through assimilation. Theoretically, with enough subjects, Namekians could continuously grow stronger! But assimilation required both parties' willingness—forced merging might not succeed.

The evil Namekian Slug didn't care about such restrictions. He pressed his hand against the chest of a barely-breathing Namekian warrior as black energy emanated from his palm. His dominant consciousness invaded, forcibly assimilating the dying warrior!

While absorbing information from the elder's brain, Slug had learned the technique of assimilation. Facing his current crisis, he unleashed the instinctual power in his Namekian blood. As a demon, his powerful evil will distorted the fragile beliefs of the dying Namekian fighters, allowing the assimilation to proceed smoothly!

Dark light poured from his hand, quickly engulfing both figures as waves of energy spread outward, raising a tremendous aura.

Frieza was stunned by this sight. Strong energy seemed to be building within that light, making him uneasy. Already mentally exhausted by his opponents' endless strange techniques, he didn't want any further complications. He simply raised his hand and fired a Death Beam.

Straight as an arrow and fast as lightning, the beam possessed enough power to pierce the ground—yet Slug deflected it with a single hand! The Namekian warrior he had been holding had vanished, and Slug's energy signature had doubled.

Frieza stared in disbelief.

Slug, however, paid Frieza no attention. He continued with his second assimilation, devouring another dying Namekian warrior while an evil smile played across his lips.

The sensation was incredible! He had never imagined assimilation would provide such tremendous benefits! His wounds had completely healed, and the energy consumed by regenerating his severed limbs was instantly replenished. His power had grown beyond imagination. Beyond the three fighters he'd captured, two stronger candidates remained—Nail and Piccolo. If he could assimilate them all...

Slug couldn't contain his excitement. At this rate, he would definitely surpass Frieza, and perhaps even... Lord Guru!

His aged heart pounded fiercely as the ambitious Slug fantasized about his future—a future that seemed to be materializing step by step. Light flashed, and in an instant, he had completed the second assimilation.

His current combat power had reached at least 700,000!

The frenzied Slug grabbed the last dying soldier, grinning maniacally as he pinned down the warrior's body.

"That's quite enough!" Frieza, seeing Slug growing stronger and recognizing the Namekian's strategy, launched himself like a cannonball straight toward Slug.

Slug, lost in his euphoria, reacted a moment too late. As he attempted to retreat, Frieza had already pierced the Namekian warrior's head with one hand. Purple energy exploded from the middle of the skull, a beam of light shooting diagonally into the sky.

Slug quickly backed away, furious that his final assimilation had been interrupted.

Meanwhile, Nail explained everything to Piccolo. Following the Grand Elder's instructions, he was willing to sacrifice himself to strengthen Piccolo for the battle against their evil enemies.

Raditz didn't interfere with Slug's actions. An enemy's enemy is a friend. Frieza remained the greatest threat, so Slug's enhancement wasn't necessarily bad. At minimum, he could delay Frieza and drain the tyrant's stamina.

At that moment, Raditz signaled to Vegeta, suggesting he improve his strength through near-death combat experience. The Saiyan zenkai boost—power enhancement after recovering from near-death—was an innate ability, but it required specific physical, psychological, and environmental conditions to be triggered. It reached its maximum potential during life-or-death battles.

The effects of near-death recovery varied greatly between normal training and actual combat. Moreover, the degree of improvement depended on individual talent, enemy strength, and the warrior's will.

Jumping from 9,000 to 300,000, or from 25,000 to 250,000, was entirely possible.

How far Vegeta could reach depended entirely on him.
