I Became a Little Vampire Princess After Being Infected by a Game Virus

Chapter 55: Are You Serious?

Chapter 55: Are You Serious?

After eating and drinking enough, it was about time for me to get moving.

“Gaia, didn’t I tell you that you need to stay in bed and rest? You shouldn’t get up yet! Just lie down for a little while longer.”

Seeing Gaia trying to get out of bed again, Mios rushed over to press down on his shoulder, forcing him back onto the bed.

“Don’t worry; I’ve rested enough. After all, I’ve already slept for 36 hours! If I don’t move around a bit, how can my body be alright? I know my body well. Plus, while you were busy making noodles, I contacted Ouxs, and I have some things to deal with over there. I can’t just keep lying here in bed.”

“Uh… well, if that’s the case, then fine. I won’t interfere. But be careful with your body, okay? Don’t do anything too strenuous.”

Mios had to give up on trying to make Gaia stay in bed. After all, as a king, he had a lot to do, which was totally different from someone like him who was just hanging around.

“Don’t worry! I know my body well enough not to do anything harmful. Well, I’m off!”

After putting on his clothes and shoes, Gaia waved at Mios and left the room, heading toward where Ouxs was.

“Oh, isn’t that Gaia? You’re awake already!”

On the way, he ran into Yake and Aierjisi, who were still taking a stroll in the Royal Palace for rehabilitation training. They greeted him warmly upon seeing him.

“Yes! I just woke up not long ago. Speaking of which, what are you two doing?”

Gaia looked at them, not quite sure what they were up to. It seemed like a normal stroll in the palace.

“Oh, nothing much. Just taking my servant for some rehabilitation training. This guy has been sleeping for 36 hours, and now he can hardly walk! I had no choice but to take him for a walk to get him back on track. By the way, Gaia, are your legs alright? You seem to be walking just like before!”

Aierjisi observed Gaia’s walking pace, which apparently had not changed at all since he fell asleep. Could it be that after sleeping for 36 hours, Gaia could still move around effortlessly?

“I’m fine! Just a little numbness in my feet; a little walking will help. I won’t disturb your rehabilitation training anymore. I have things to take care of, so I’ll be off now.”

“Going to do what? Tell me about it!”

“Oh, it’s nothing too important. Just going to find Ouxs. I’m planning to go up the mountain with him to meet Ailin’s father, the Ice Dragon King.”

“Oh, going to meet the father-in-law, huh? That’s perfectly normal, especially since Ailin got snatched away by those pyramid scheme guys. If we have the Ice Dragon Clan’s help, the chances of saving Ailin will definitely increase.”

Aierjisi immediately realized why Gaia wanted to head up the mountain to meet his father-in-law. It was simply to seek assistance, and besides, the strength of the dragon clan was always formidable. With the Ice Dragon Clan’s help, the success rate of this operation would rise significantly.

“Right. Although it’s a bit risky, I want to try my best.”

Gaia knew that once he informed the Ice Dragon King about Ailin being captured, he would have to face the king’s wrath. He wasn’t sure if he could withstand it. At the worst, his spirit might shatter under the Ice Dragon King’s anger.

But even so, he still wanted to try. He wanted to see if he could get help from the Ice Dragon King.

“As a part of the plan, this step isn’t bad. Do you want me to go with you? I’m also curious to see just how powerful the Ice Dragon King really is. Maybe I can help persuade him to assist us!”

Aierjisi took the initiative to propose going up the mountain with Gaia to meet Ailin’s father, hoping to gather some useful information from him, since like Ailin, she was also a traveler from Earth.

“Thanks, but it’s better if you don’t. This is my own business. You guys should just focus on your rehabilitation training here.”

Gaia declined Aierjisi’s goodwill. This matter was his own, and he didn’t need the help of an outsider.

“Okay then. Since you say so, I’ll respect your wishes. Yake, come on, let’s continue our rehabilitation training.”

“Oh, got it! But Aier, don’t walk too fast; I can’t keep up with you!”

Yake complained while doing his best to match Aierjisi’s pace.

Knock knock knock!

“Ouxs, are you in there?”

Gaia knocked three times on the door, inquiring about the situation inside.

“I’m here; just come in.”

“Alright.”

Gaia turned the doorknob and entered the room, seeing Ouxs looking troubled over some documents on the table.

“Ouxs, thanks for your hard work these past two days. You’ve handled quite a few troublesome matters for me. I see you’ve lost quite a bit of hair.”

“It’s nothing really; it’s mainly for you. As long as you can rest well, what’s losing a bit of hair? By the way, I have to ask you again, are you serious? Do you really want to go up the mountain to find the Ice Dragon King right now?”

Ouxs paused from his work and looked up at Gaia, asking whether he was truly ready to seek out the Ice Dragon King. If he wasn’t sure, it wasn’t too late to back out.

“I’m serious! No matter how many times you ask, my answer is the same. I’m getting ready to go up the mountain and seek the Ice Dragon King’s assistance.”

Gaia nodded firmly. To smoothly rescue Ailin, he wanted to gather every bit of power available to him.

“Since you’re serious, then I can’t stop you. So when are we setting off? Right now? Or do you want to wait a bit?”

Ouxs understood Gaia’s character. Once he decided on something, it was hard to change his mind.

“Are you very busy right now? If you are, it’s better to finish what you’re doing and then we can head out together.”

“It’s no big deal, really. It’s just some funding for local events or tax-related stuff. I can easily handle it anytime.”

“Then let’s get going! We’ll head up the mountain to visit the Ice Dragon King now.”

“Okay!”
