Chapter 54: Be Good and Eat Your Meal
Chapter 54: Be Good and Eat Your Meal
“Um? What is this thing? Is it a potion?”
After hanging up on Ouxs, Gaia shifted his gaze to the potion sitting on the nightstand. He didn’t remember having this before he fell asleep. Did someone bring it to him while he was unconscious?
“Why does this potion look so strange?”
Holding the vial in his hands, he examined it closely. The purple liquid inside gave him an odd vibe. Could this potion actually be some kind of special recovery elixir?
【Maybe I should wait for Mios to come back and ask him.】
Gaia shook his head, squashing the idea of drinking the potion. After all, he didn’t dare to consume something that had an unknown origin. What if he turned into some Wolverine-type creature? That would be hilarious!
“Gaia, I’m back! Huh? Did you drink that potion?”
At that moment, Mios walked into the room carrying a heaping plate of food and noticed the potion Gaia held, which was given to them by Aierjisi.
“Not yet. I don’t know why, but this potion seems really weird, so I didn’t dare to drink it. Is it yours? Where did you get it?”
“This potion isn’t mine. Miss Aierjisi visited you while you were unconscious and left this for you. She said it’s a recovery potion that can revive someone even if they are dead for less than 20 minutes.”
“Is it really that magical? Then it seems I was right not to drink it. A potion with such effects must be incredibly valuable. I should save it for when I’m in crisis!”
After Mios explained the potion’s effects, Gaia carefully placed the vial inside the drawer of his nightstand.
“Yeah, this potion definitely needs to be kept safe. Accidentally mistaking it for a regular potion would be a serious loss.”
Mios laughed, teasing Gaia about his earlier behavior, and set the food in front of him.
“Here. Gaia, look at what you want to eat. Feel free to take whatever you like!”
“Thanks, but I think I want some porridge. It’s easier to digest.”
Gaia noticed that the food Mios brought didn’t include any porridge that would be gentle on his stomach, so he asked him to check in the kitchen for a bowl.
“Porridge, huh? Let me see if there’s some in the kitchen. If there is, I’ll bring you a bowl. If not…”
“If there isn’t any, then just make me some noodles. Noodles are fine too.”
“Got it! I’ll head out now, and you just relax here, Gaia.”
“Sure, I know, hurry up and go. I’ll lie down a bit longer.”
Gaia waved Mios off, wanting to catch some more sleep while he had the chance.
“Alright, good night then, Gaia! I’ll come back once the noodles are ready.”
Mios closed the door and dashed off to the kitchen to prepare food for Gaia.
“Yare yare. How can I feel this tired just from resting a bit?”
Gaia massaged his shoulders. Perhaps he had accumulated too much fatigue from work lately; his body still felt sore. I wonder how Ouxs is doing?
Ten minutes later…
“Gaia, the noodles are ready! Look at this steaming hot bowl, just off the stove! You better eat it while it’s hot!”
Mios returned to the room, placing the noodles on the bedside table and calling for Gaia to get up and eat.
“Ah? Okay, okay, I got it. I’m getting up now.”
Gaia had barely just settled down when Mios burst in, waking him. Reluctantly, he got up; after all, noodles are meant to be eaten hot!
“Hot! These noodles are way too hot!”
As soon as he tried to take a bite, Gaia yelped and spat the noodles out, clutching his mouth.
“Ah, yeah, it does seem a bit hot. Let me feed you then!”
Mios took the noodles, blew on them to cool them down, and held them out to Gaia.
“Isn’t this unnecessary? You’re not my mom or anything! I can handle eating noodles myself!”
Gaia felt embarrassed about this situation. After all, he was an adult—having someone feed him was just too awkward.
“It’s fine! It’s just the two of us here; no one else will know. Besides, we’ve been friends since childhood. Feeding you isn’t something to be embarrassed about!”
Mios didn’t care at all, seeing their bond as childhood friends was beyond just casual. Feeding him was nothing to fuss over.
“That may be true, but I’d rather do it myself!”
Gaia recognized their unique relationship, but even so, he didn’t want Mios feeding him noodles.
“Be good! Just open your mouth; otherwise, the noodles will turn into a mushy mess!”
Ignoring Gaia’s protest, Mios smiled, encouraging him to open his mouth.
“Ugh, when will you learn to actually listen to me?”
Defeated, Gaia knew his friend would never listen and would just do things his own way.
With no other choice, Gaia opened his mouth obediently and accepted the noodles.
“See? You’re so good! Look, you’ve already finished all the noodles in no time!”
About ten minutes later, with Mios feeding him, Gaia polished off the steaming bowl of noodles.
“Let’s not do this next time, okay? It’s still quite embarrassing.”
“Really? Because I noticed you weren’t embarrassed at all when you were feeding Ailin.”
Mios teased, noting how Gaia would feed Ailin without hesitation yet felt shy doing the same with him.
“That’s completely different! Ailin is my wife. Feeding her is just a fun game. But with you, it’s not the same. You’re a knight from the Royal Palace! Doing this would definitely make me feel awkward!”
