Chapter 16: Chapter 15 The Clash of Legends: Hashirama vs. Madara
The sky had been clear just moments ago, but now, a massive dark cloud loomed overhead, carrying the promise of an impending storm.
Danzo sat in his room, studying a ninjutsu scroll, when a cold gust of wind blew in through the window, heavy with moisture.
"Tch. The weather changes so suddenly. Just like a summer storm—completely unpredictable."
The streets of Konoha quickly emptied as villagers rushed home, seeking shelter from the inevitable downpour.
At the same time, a lone figure, clad in a straw hat and a weathered rain cloak, approached Konoha's gates step by step.
"Konoha… I'm back. Stronger than ever."
The man was none other than **Uchiha Madara**. Having tamed the **Nine-Tails**, Kurama, he now stood at the pinnacle of his power. In his mind, he could already picture Senju Hashirama kneeling before him, begging for mercy.
"Hahahaha!"
His sudden laughter drew the attention of the two guards stationed at Konoha's entrance.
"Hey… that guy up ahead—did he just start laughing to himself?" one guard muttered.
"Looks like he's got a few screws loose," the other replied. "Should we let him in?"
"The Hokage never said mental illness was a reason to deny entry. Guess it's fine?"
"Yeah, sure. Let him in."
Madara was ready to kill the gate guards if they attempted to stop him, but to his surprise, they merely gave him a strange look—one that almost seemed… pitiful.
Are they underestimating me? Or is there an ambush waiting inside?
Madara quickly considered the possibilities, but in the end, it didn't matter. He had only one true opponent—the only person he cared about:
Senju Hashirama.
The very thought of his old friend-turned-rival sent a thrill through him. His Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan spun wildly as he strode toward the Hokage Building.
---
In his office, Senju Hashirama sat idly, playing a game of cards to pass the time when a sudden chill ran down his spine.
"He's here. I can feel his chakra."
"Who?!" Tobirama snapped, immediately on guard. "Uchiha Madara?! But how did he get past the barrier?! Did he just walk in through the front gate?!"
Tobirama couldn't believe it. Who would attempt to infiltrate a village **by walking in openly**?
Hashirama, however, didn't respond. He simply turned toward the window, his expression grim.
At that moment, a monstrous wall of **Fire Release** erupted from below, roaring toward the Hokage Building. The intense heat evaporated the raindrops before they could even touch the ground.
"Tobirama! We attack together!"
Hashirama wasted no time.
Wood Release: Deep Forest Emergence!
Massive trees shot up from the earth—not to block the flames, but to protect the surrounding buildings and the people inside.
Water Release: Great Waterfall Technique!
A towering torrent surged from Tobirama's mouth, crashing into Madara's fire and filling the street with thick steam.
A dense fog shrouded the battlefield.
"Madara! If you want a fight, let's take it outside! The people of Konoha are innocent!" Hashirama shouted.
Madara scoffed. "Still spouting your naïve nonsense, Hashirama?"
Despite his words, he advanced.
Wood Release: Wood Dragon Technique!
A massive wooden dragon burst from the earth, its jaws clamping around Madara before launching both of them out of the village.
"Damn it! Hashirama, you sneaky bastard!"
Madara barely had time to react. In the last moment, he activated an incomplete **Susanoo**, its skeletal frame protecting him from the dragon's crushing bite.
As the two clashed mid-air, the battle that would shake history was about to begin.
---
By the time they reached the valley, Madara had already shattered his wooden restraints with sheer **Mangekyō Sharingan** power. He landed gracefully on the rocky terrain, eyes gleaming with battle lust.
"Hashirama… let me show you my new power!"
Summoning Jutsu!
With a thunderous roar, the **Nine-Tails** emerged, its crimson eyes filled with raw malice.
Hashirama immediately countered. **Wood Release: Wood Locking Wall!**
Gigantic roots erupted from beneath his feet, attempting to bind the rampaging beast.
But something was different. Kurama broke free effortlessly.
"Impossible… My Wood Release isn't enough anymore?!"
As Madara leaped onto the Nine-Tails' head, he smirked. "Now, Kurama—Tailed Beast Bomb!"
The air crackled as a massive sphere of condensed chakra formed in Kurama's mouth, aimed directly at Hashirama.
Wood Release: Wood Dragon Technique!
The familiar wooden beast coiled around Kurama, biting down hard. But before it could suppress the tailed beast, Kurama fired the Tailed Beast Bomb—obliterating the wooden dragon's head in an instant.
Hashirama barely had time to react as the explosion engulfed the battlefield.
When the dust settled, Madara's **Nine-Tails** stood covered in a towering **Susanoo armor**, wielding an enormous blade.
From atop his beast, Madara sneered. "Let's see you block this, Hashirama!"
Hashirama narrowed his eyes. *I have no choice…*
Sage Art: Wood Release—True Several Thousand Hands!
A colossal wooden Buddha erupted from the earth, dwarfing even the armored Nine-Tails.
With fists the size of mountains, the **Buddha Statue** rained down a relentless barrage of punches.
Madara met the attack head-on, his armored beast clashing with Hashirama's divine creation. The valley trembled under the impact of their battle.
---
Both warriors were nearing their limits.
Madara's **Susanoo armor shattered**, and Kurama was subdued by Hashirama's **Kokuangyo no Jutsu**. With the last of his chakra, Hashirama **sealed the Nine-Tails**, leaving both combatants exhausted.
At last, it was down to one final exchange—**taijutsu.**
A flicker of movement. A flash of steel.
Madara stood, while Hashirama collapsed.
*"Looks like… I win."*
Madara reached for his victory—only for his vision to blur.
A searing pain pierced his chest.
His eyes widened in shock.
The "fallen" Hashirama in front of him dissolved into **a wooden clone**.
Hashirama, standing behind him, withdrew his blade. "No one—**not even you, Madara**—can stand against the village. This is my dream. **Our dream.**"
Madara staggered, a bitter smile on his lips. "You've changed, Hashirama… Someday, your village will drown in darkness."
With those final words, he collapsed.
Hashirama, clutching his wounded shoulder, turned back toward Konoha.
"A generation of brothers… now enemies."
The battle was over.
