I Have a Girlfriend in Marvel

Chapter 80: Spider-Man and Batman

Though filled with questions, Tony Stark knew this wasn't the time to dwell on them. He shouted to Spider-Man from a distance.

"Be careful! This guy isn't like Ivan Vanko. His attack power is strong, but his defense is even stronger!"

Before Stark could finish, he found himself being yanked by webbing, swinging like a wrecking ball in an arc straight toward the Destroyer below.

He crashed heavily into the Destroyer, but all doubts in Stark's mind vanished.

This was definitely Spider-Man; his attack patterns were the same. Back at the Hammer Industries expo, War Machine had been used similarly as a wrecking ball against the Iron Soldier drones.

The Destroyer, despite its bulky appearance, seemed lighter than expected—only about 300 to 500 kilograms. After being hit by Iron Man, it staggered back, its fire beams spraying wildly into the sky.

With his flight systems damaged and after taking such a hit, Iron Man was essentially a pile of scrap upon landing. He could still function as a stationary turret but was incapable of providing any meaningful combat support.

Spider-Man didn't seem to expect much help from Iron Man. He released the web attached to Stark and quickly shot another, latching onto a car, which he hurled at the Destroyer.

A car weighing around 1.5 tons was significantly heavier than Iron Man and even outweighed the Destroyer. When it hit, the Destroyer was launched like a golf ball.

However, as Stark had warned, the Destroyer was extremely durable. Even an impact like this caused minimal damage.

With a simple twist, it shrugged off the impact, adjusted its position mid-air, and aimed its face directly at Spider-Man.

The red energy beam fired again, this time targeting Spider-Man perched on a rooftop.

Boom!

The fiery beam shot skyward. Thanks to his agility, Spider-Man easily dodged the attack, but the building beneath him had its roof blown clean off.

Screams and shouts erupted from the crowd. The nearby civilians, already terrified by the ongoing battle, lost all composure as the destruction escalated and began fleeing in panic.

This location was dangerously close to the Shiranui Dojo and not far from the Muse Bar, where Mai and her friends were staying.

If this battle continued unchecked, the Muse Bar was at serious risk of getting caught in the crossfire.

Inside the bar, a few female fighters, taking advantage of the soundproof lounge while slightly drunk, could also end up as collateral damage.

If the Muse Bar's roof were blown off, revealing that sweet but spicy scene, wouldn't Su Ye suffer a huge loss?

The battle couldn't continue here; it had to be moved away from this district.

The Spider-Man jumping across rooftops, evading the Destroyer's attacks, was unaware of all this—because she was Spider-Man, not Su Ye.

So she moved according to her own logic, leaping from building to building without much concern for what lay beneath.

But Su Ye cared.

As the Destroyer's wild attacks forced Spider-Man to leap around chaotically, a nearby wall suddenly crumbled. Out burst a massive, armored black vehicle.

Its menacing, sharp front rammed directly into the Destroyer's chest, pushing it forward in a shower of sparks and lightning.

"Is that… Batman?"

Noticing the bat emblem on the side of the vehicle, Tony Stark's tense expression relaxed.

If it were only Spider-Man, Stark would've worried about things going south. But with Batman in the mix, there was no doubt in his mind—they'd be fine. After all, this was the man who had thoroughly bested him before.

If anyone in New York could turn the tide, it was undoubtedly Batman.

In the distance, the Batmobile bulldozed through walls and glass buildings, swiftly moving away from the Shiranui Dojo and Muse Bar district with the Destroyer pinned to its front.

No one questioned his tactics.

Batman was simply trying to end the fight quickly, and this maneuver seemed perfectly reasonable.

What no one expected was that the Destroyer, now turned into a battering ram by the Batmobile, wasn't entirely helpless. Its body slammed backward, but its hands gripped the front bumper while its face slowly aligned with the vehicle's front.

No matter how sturdy or armored your vehicle is, one beam from its fiery blast could tear it wide open!

The Destroyer's faceplate began to glow once more. Its attack was powerful, but the telltale red glow was a dead giveaway.

The Batmobile's front suddenly flipped open, revealing a black, cannon-like device. It shot forward, jamming itself under the Destroyer's chin and tilting its face upward.

This cannon was a later addition at Su Ye's request, inspired by his jealousy of War Machine's shoulder-mounted guns.

Su Ye wasn't trying to compete; he just wanted to make it clear—when it came to cannon size, everyone else was trash.

The Destroyer's fire beam shot skyward, slicing through a skyscraper. The massive building, as if undergoing surgery, split cleanly in two.

The Batmobile continued its relentless charge, smashing through multiple streets and creating distance—several kilometers—from the Shiranui Dojo district.

"This should be far enough!"

Inside the Batmobile, Su Ye exhaled as the car smashed through a glass wall, switching to autopilot mode. It continued barreling down the street with the Destroyer still pinned to its front.

Su Ye opened the car door, climbed onto the roof, and pulled out a glowing white device. He stepped forward and slammed it into the Destroyer's faceplate.

His cape then stiffened as it became electrified, transforming into a large bat-shaped glider. Using the wind, he launched himself into the air and landed atop a nearby skyscraper.

Meanwhile, the Batmobile continued speeding ahead at over 100 miles per hour, quickly putting several hundred meters between itself and Su Ye's position.

Behind him, Spider-Man had caught up, her red-and-white suit standing out. A familiar female voice spoke from beneath the mask, "Are you Batman? Who's driving the car?"

Su Ye didn't respond. He simply extended his cape, blocking Spider-Man's path.

Far ahead, the Destroyer—still pinned to the Batmobile—finally sensed the foreign object in its face. Its red glow intensified, preparing to incinerate it, but instead, it triggered a violent explosion.

With a deafening boom, a pillar of white light shot skyward, reminiscent of the Arc Reactor explosion at Stark Industries' headquarters in Los Angeles, though slightly less intense.

However, the localized destruction was no less devastating.

The Batmobile was blown apart mid-air, scattering into countless fragments. The Destroyer's head was obliterated, and its now mostly intact body lost all power, collapsing like a ragdoll in the distance.

"That… such a powerful blast? What kind of explosive did you use?" the female Spider-Man asked in astonishment.

Su Ye replied calmly, "Just a coil."
