"I Reincarnated in Boku no Hero but They Forgot to Give Me a System"

Chapter 30: Chapter 30 — Meeting Your Heroines

Chapter 30 — Meeting Your Heroines

Aoi gently closed the heavy door behind the three heroines, the sound echoing faintly through the silent mansion. A quiet stillness filled the air as none of them spoke for a moment.

Their footsteps resonated down the long, polished corridors — firm and confident, yet each carried its own unique rhythm and subtle cadence.

Mirko moved with the intensity of a warrior preparing for battle, every step purposeful and alert, as if expecting an enemy to appear at any moment.

Ryukyu's movements contrasted sharply — calm, measured, almost reverent, as if she carried the weight of responsibility lightly but with unwavering dedication.

Midnight, on the other hand, floated through the space like a shadowy silhouette, her movements fluid and seductive, hinting at a playful yet dangerous nature beneath the surface.

Once they reached the expansive main room, they settled gracefully onto the plush, deep sofa, facing the towering bookshelf that dominated one wall. The shelf was cluttered with a myriad of books, delicate gadgets, and intricate prototypes of inventions — a testament to Aoi's genius mind and restless creativity.

Aoi settled himself into the large armchair positioned directly across from them. Outwardly, his expression was composed and serene, but inside, his mind was alert, calculating, absorbing every detail.

They seem far too comfortable. Completely unaware there's a carefully orchestrated plan unfolding behind their presence here...

His eyes scanned their faces again, searching for any hint of doubt or hesitation. There was none. No forced smiles or practiced gestures. No exchanged glances that betrayed hidden agendas.

This is exactly how it was meant to be. The government kept them completely in the dark — no details, no ulterior motives. Their sole directive was to protect me. No seduction, no emotional manipulation, nothing artificial. They understand well that trying to control a genius only leads to disaster.

Aoi rested his chin on his hand and allowed a faint, knowing smile to grace his lips.

— So... it looks like you'll be living here for a while?

Mirko cracked her knuckles with a sharp snap and smirked, her confidence radiating effortlessly.

— If anyone tries to kill you, I'll personally break their teeth. If someone tries to kidnap you, I'll tear their arms right off. If they dare to invade this house… they won't leave standing. So yeah, consider us moved in.

Midnight chuckled softly, crossing her legs with exaggerated flair, her voice teasing.

— You're cute when you worry. But you really need to learn to relax. Having three incredible women living with you... honestly, it sounds like a dream come true, doesn't it?

— "Dream" is a dangerous word — Aoi replied quietly, matching her tone. — Sometimes dreams turn into nightmares.

Ryukyu tilted her head slightly, serene and composed.

— We're here strictly to ensure your safety. Nothing beyond that. But if you ever need advice, help, or just someone to talk to… I'm here for you.

Aoi studied the three of them again. To him, they embodied a living triad of archetypes: raw strength, intoxicating sensuality, and calm balance.

They were careful in their selection. Different personalities, yet all emotionally compatible with me. It's not just about security — it's about building a genuine bond. And they let that happen naturally, without forcing anything. That's intelligent.

He exhaled slowly, steadying his thoughts.

— Alright then. Since we're going to be living together... let's start with something simple. I want to know the real you — not just your hero profiles.

Mirko laughed sharply, a hint of disdain in her voice.

— Profiles? That bureaucratic nonsense is trash. I'm Mirko. I like fighting, challenges, and honesty. I hate people who pretend to be victims or hide how they really feel. And if you're the type to stall before speaking your mind, you're going to get hit.

— Straight to the point, huh? — Aoi smiled approvingly. — I like that.

Midnight leaned forward, eyes half-lidded and a mischievous smile playing on her lips.

— Nemuri Kayama, pleasure. But you can call me Midnight~. I love freedom, having fun, and… provoking people. But don't mistake my playful side — I'm serious when it counts. Don't let the sparkle fool you, darling.

Aoi crossed his arms thoughtfully.

— Teasing is easy; focus is hard. And you seem to have mastered both. Interesting.

Ryukyu offered a gentle smile before speaking.

— My name is Ryuko. I became a hero because I believed in protecting the vulnerable. I still believe in that ideal. I carry a strong sense of responsibility, but... I have fears too. Yet I keep moving forward despite them.

— Courage isn't the absence of fear. It's acting in spite of it — Aoi said sincerely. — I respect that.

They exchanged glances, a subtle shift in the atmosphere. For the first time, all three sensed something extraordinary about Aoi — he wasn't an ordinary child.

Midnight raised an eyebrow in surprise.

— You really don't talk like someone your age.

Aoi smiled softly.

— Growing up in my family forces you to mature quickly. And with an intelligence like mine, pretending to be a regular kid is impossible.

Silence fell over the room.

For a fleeting moment, all three realized they were in the presence of someone not to be underestimated.

Aoi looked at them, his tone softening.

— Putting that aside… since you'll be living here, you should know this mansion was bought by me to quietly conduct some experiments. I've been spending most of my time here since I acquired it.

He stood calmly.

— The kitchen is that way. Bathrooms are upstairs. Guest rooms are ready and waiting. Make yourselves at home.

He turned to leave but paused in the doorway.

— Oh… and if you're really going to stay here… I hope you're prepared to deal with me. My personality can be a bit difficult sometimes.

And with that, he left, leaving the three women staring silently at one another — for the first time since they arrived.
