I Reincarnated in Lorien Legacies(I am number four.)

Chapter 52: Chapter 44

The Quinjet hummed with a steady rhythm, its rear thrusters glowing softly against the dark expanse of the night sky. The craft soared high above the Atlantic, cutting through the air with near-silent precision, the wing rotors tilting slightly as Alexander adjusted their course. His hands gripped the controls with steady confidence, his eyes locked on the glowing navigation interface ahead.

Seated behind him, Six rested her head against the back of her seat, her arms crossed. She stared out through the tinted window, watching the ocean below, dark and endless beneath the stars. Katrina, her Cepan, sat beside her, ever watchful, her sharp gaze scanning the cockpit displays.

Lexa sat near the rear of the Quinjet, her arms wrapped around her legs as she leaned against the cold metal wall. Her mind churned with old memories—Crayton, the man who had once cared for her before choosing Ella over her, leaving her to fend for herself in Egypt.

She barely registered when Alexander approached, his usually firm demeanor softened as he crouched beside her.

"You doing okay?"he asked quietly.

Lexa glanced at him, her expression unreadable. "I don't know," she admitted. "This feels... strange. I don't even know what I'd say to him if we find him."

Alexander studied her for a moment before pulling her into a brief hug. It was a small, reassuring gesture—one that reminded her she wasn't alone. "Get some rest," he murmured as he pulled away. "We'll be in Spain soon."

Lexa nodded, watching as he returned to the pilot's seat.

Dante stood near the cockpit, arms crossed, his usual air of detachment intact, but his sharp eyes never stopped analyzing the situation. The soft glow of the control panels flickered against his face as he spoke, his voice cutting through the steady hum of the engines.

"Even though he's not trained to be a Cêpan, he's doing pretty well. I mean, leaving false trails, planting stories—it's impressive."

Alexander, seated at the helm, didn't look away from the controls. His fingers glided effortlessly across the dashboard, adjusting their flight path. The Quinjet hummed in response, steady and unwavering.

"Yes, he's careful," Alexander acknowledged. "And even though he lied to Ella about being chosen as the Tenth Garde, it was to give her a reason—a purpose." His voice remained calm, pragmatic. "Add in Ella's Legacy, and it helped him a lot."

Six, intrigued, leaned forward slightly. "What is this Legacy?"

Alexander glanced at her, noticing the same curiosity mirrored in everyone else's eyes. He exhaled and set the Quinjet to Autopilot, his expression thoughtful before he answered.

"Aeternus. It's a rare Legacy—allows the user to move back and forth between the ages they've already lived. With it, a Garde can dramatically extend their life."

A brief silence followed as the weight of that revelation settled in. The Quinjet's controls beeped softly, the rhythmic pulse of the navigation systems filling the quiet.

Dante raised an eyebrow. "Smart," he muttered.

Alexander nodded. "Having Ella turn into a five- or six-year-old to get into orphanages while Crayton worked behind the scenes? It gave them mobility, anonymity."

Six scoffed, shaking her head. "Yeah, staying in orphanages would help, but without Aeternus ? Not a viable choice for most people… unless they decide to become a nun."

Katrina, silent until now, finally spoke. Her voice was measured, thoughtful.

"So, Aeternus from Elder Loridas and Dreynen from Setrakus Ra… she's going to be one powerful Garde."

Alexander nodded.

For a moment, silence settled over the cabin, thick with unspoken thoughts. The only sounds were the steady whir of the Quinjet's engines and the soft pulse of energy running through its systems.

Then—

The HUD screen flickered. Incoming coordinates flashed across the display. A soft alarm chimed as Alexander glanced at the HUD, his fingers tightening slightly around the controls as a set of coordinates flashed across the screen, the soft alarm pulsing in the cabin's dim light.

"Looks like we have our stop," he murmured, tapping a few controls to bring up the full display.

A holographic projection emerged from the dashboard, casting a pale blue glow across their faces. The map shifted, zooming in on a small, isolated location deep in the European countryside.

Six leaned forward, scanning the readout. "That's remote. Not a lot of eyes."

Dante exhaled, arms still crossed. "Smart. If Crayton is as careful as we think, he wouldn't just stay off the grid—he'd disappear into it."
