Chapter 34
“Mr. Kirishima, Mr. Daniel has arrived.”
“Thank you. I’ll be right there.”
Kirishima said this and handed the doorman a $100 bill.
As he made his way to the entrance, he recalled leaving another $100 bill on his bed, just as a customary gesture.
Stepping outside, he saw Daniel waving from the driver’s seat of an open-top sports car, his familiar friendly grin plastered across his face.
A-A-A Huracán Performante Spyder…?!
Let me explain.
The Huracán Performante Spyder is a Lamborghini supercar unveiled at the 2017 Motor Show. This high-performance version of the Lamborghini Huracán features extensive use of carbon fiber, significantly reducing its weight and making it race-ready right off the showroom floor. Yet, despite its track-focused enhancements, it is said to offer an even smoother ride compared to the standard model—a true beast of a machine.
“This is an incredible car…”
“I managed to get my hands on it before it hit the market. It’s my favorite ride right now.”
Daniel casually dropped this bombshell with a carefree smile.
“Man, this is insane. Feels like the entire city is staring at us.”
Daniel smirked, clearly enjoying the attention.
“Alright, let’s start with watches.”
“Sorry, but I don’t plan on wearing any watch other than this one.”
Kirishima gestured toward the watch on his wrist.
“It holds too many important memories for me.”
“I see. That’s unexpected. Well then, how about shopping for clothes?”
With that, Daniel took Kirishima to Caesars Palace.
“Where are we?” Kirishima, still new to Las Vegas, asked.
“The shops in the Forum at Caesars carry the best of the best in Vegas. That’s why we’re here.”
“I see. Then why are we at the hotel instead of going straight to the Forum?”
“Because high-end stores attract a lot of people. Dealing with crowds is a hassle, so I have them bring the merchandise here.”
Kirishima was at a loss for words.
So this is what it means to be rich…
The two were ushered into the highest-grade suite at Caesars Palace. Inside, a bottle of champagne was chilling in a wine cooler, and a personal hotelier stood by, greeting them.
As Kirishima took in the extravagant scene, Daniel, unfazed, simply said, “The usual, please.”
And then, the madness began.
Managers from luxury brands based in the Forum started bringing in their most highly recommended items, one after another, giving presentations on each.
A few managers who threw Kirishima suspicious glances as if to say, “Who is this guy?” were dismissed before they even got a chance to present their products.
“This man is a dear friend of mine, someone I call my brother.”
Daniel’s voice carried weight, his words filled with authority.
“Staff who disrespect my friends have no place in Las Vegas. More importantly, it’s unacceptable for them to provide such poor hospitality to the countless tourists who come here looking forward to their experience. I’ll be reconsidering my dealings with those stores.”
Kirishima was deeply moved by Daniel’s stance. As someone who owned multiple casinos and hotels, Daniel wasn’t just focused on his own businesses but on the future of Las Vegas as a whole.
For Kirishima, who often felt like he’d come this far purely by luck, Daniel’s mindset was both eye-opening and inspiring. He silently vowed to learn as much as he could from him.
By the end of the day, Kirishima had purchased around $50,000 worth of items from each of the stores Daniel had approved. He arranged to have everything delivered to his home in Osaka.
When he tried to settle the bill, Daniel nonchalantly said, “Put it on my tab.”
“Are you serious, Daniel?!”
Kirishima nearly lunged at him in shock.
Daniel laughed. “Consider it a token to celebrate our meeting, brother.”
“Anything money can buy isn’t truly valuable. Once you have enough money, you begin to see what really matters. Human connections, for example. You call it ‘en’ in Japan, right? That’s something you can’t buy. So let’s toast to this amazing connection.”
Raising his glass, Daniel clinked it against Kirishima’s.
Kirishima was shaken not only by Daniel’s overwhelming financial power but also by the depth of his philosophy. He decided to accept Daniel’s generosity with gratitude.
“If you ever come to Japan, let me know.”
Kirishima looked Daniel in the eye.
“I’ll show you what true Japanese hospitality is all about. I’m really glad I came to Las Vegas and met you.”
The two men cemented their bond even further.
Afterward, they enjoyed a lavish dinner at Caesars Palace. Naturally, they dined in a VIP room, indulging in cuisine so exquisite that Kirishima could barely register the taste due to his nerves.
But as the alcohol flowed, the night became more and more fun.
And in the end, just like the previous night, Daniel was the first to pass out.
