I Suddenly Became Rich, But I Have No Idea How to Spend the Money

Chapter 35

Although it was already past noon, Kirishima finally woke up in his suite at the Palazzo. His mind was still hazy as he tried to recall how exactly he had made it back to his room. After a few moments of fruitless effort, he decided it was a waste of time to dwell on it and simply gave up.

As he got out of bed and walked into the living room, his eyes landed on the same Louis Vuitton trunks, packed tightly with cash, still sitting there as they had been the night before.

Well, it was 140 kilograms of cash, after all.

Each trunk had been meticulously prepared, with an equal number of Damier Graphite and Monogram editions, all neatly stuffed with money.

Yesterday, the sales staff who had delivered them explained that they were called “Alzer 80,” the largest trunks available in Louis Vuitton’s regular lineup.

When Kirishima discreetly asked about the price, the staff had leaned in and whispered, “About $20,000 each.”

And now, there were ten of them sitting in front of him—five of each type.

Kirishima was now faced with the dilemma of what to do with this massive amount of luggage.

If he were to continue to his next destination with all of it, the sheer volume of the trunks would be a major hassle.

On the other hand, even if he decided to take them, checking them in on a flight was out of the question. The thought of these pristine, gleaming luxury trunks being handled roughly at an airport was simply unacceptable.

So, he decided to consult Daniel.

According to Daniel, the easiest and most straightforward solution was to open a local bank account and deposit the money there.

“Besides, if I go with you, my connections will make things easier,” Daniel assured him.

With that, Kirishima was effectively taken along—more like dragged along—by Daniel in his car as they headed straight to a Bank of America branch to open an account.

Of course, being overseas, Kirishima had his passport and other identification documents with him, which made the process relatively smooth.

Most importantly, having Daniel by his side was an enormous help.

Ordinarily, Kirishima was just another traveler, but thanks to some behind-the-scenes influence—or perhaps a massive show of favoritism toward Daniel—he was able to open an account without any issues.

Not only that, but likely due to Daniel’s presence, the bank issued him a debit card on the spot, and they arranged for a credit card to be sent to his address in Japan.

He deposited $10 million into the account right then and there.

As for the remaining $400,000, he set it aside for airfare and a few small souvenirs for his next destination.

Still, $400,000 in cash was roughly 50 million yen—an amount that demanded caution in handling.

That left the ten now-empty Louis Vuitton trunks. Kirishima decided to take them back to the Louis Vuitton store, have boxes prepared, and have them shipped to Japan.

He was overwhelmed with gratitude toward Daniel.

“Daniel, thank you.

I’ll never forget this meeting—it’s been one hell of a wild memory.

You have to come to Japan and let me show you around.”

“Honestly, I never thought I’d find a Japanese brother,” Daniel laughed.

“I already loved Japan, and now I have a Japanese brother on top of that. I’m the one who should be grateful for this encounter.

I’m planning to visit Japan next autumn, so be sure to show me around.

Japanese summers are way too hot, so I usually spend that season in either Canada or Miami.

Oh, and I definitely want to see Kyoto.”

“Leave it to me!

I live near Kyoto, so I’ll take you around as much as you want!

I’ll be waiting!”

With that, the two bumped fists.

“When are you heading out, brother?”

“I’m leaving tomorrow. Next stop—Macau.

If I win big in Macau, I’ll head to Monaco. And if I strike it rich there too, I’ll finally return to Japan.”

“You really are a born gambler, huh!

But I have no doubt you’ll win big in Macau too!

Good luck!”

“Thanks. See you in autumn!”

With that, they parted ways in front of the Palazzo, where Kirishima had been staying.

Kirishima then headed to the front desk and asked the staff to call for the general manager. It wasn’t long before Jacob, the GM, appeared.

“Good afternoon, Mr. Kirishima. Will you be departing soon?”

“You were kind enough to say I could stay as long as I wanted, but I’ve decided to test my luck in Macau next, so I just wanted to say goodbye.

I’ll definitely stay here again when I return.

Thank you for everything.”

“Not at all, sir.

It has been our honor to host the champion of Las Vegas.

Are you leaving tomorrow?”

“That’s the plan. I’ll take it easy in the morning and catch an afternoon flight.”

“I see.

Then I’ll be eagerly waiting to hear about your future triumphs.

May the gods continue to bless you in your next battle, Mr. Kirishima.”

With that, Jacob bowed and took his leave.

“This really was an amazing hotel.”

Kirishima was already determined to stay here again—next time, bringing Hitomi along.

When he called Hitomi to tell her he had won a billion yen in Las Vegas, she was furious.

“I wanted to go too!”

She was beyond upset.

Kirishima desperately tried to calm her down, promising, “Next time, I swear.”

After a while, she finally relented but then added, “Well, make sure to win three times as much in Macau.”

“If she’s expecting that from me, I have no choice but to deliver.”

With renewed determination, he picked up the clothes he had sent for the hotel’s laundry service, packed his bags, and made all the necessary preparations for his departure.

The next morning, as he checked out, the front desk staff handed him a letter from the general manager, Morton.

Inside was a message wishing him divine blessings—and a first-class ticket from Las Vegas to Hong Kong.

“Las Vegas is seriously insane…!!”

Even at the very end, Kirishima was completely blown away.

After making various purchases, dining, wiring funds to his Japanese bank account, and using every trick in the book to get his cash holdings below $10,000 to avoid customs scrutiny, he finally set off for Macau.
