Chapter 10: Story 3 : Crimson Seals - The Legacy of the Uzumaki #02: Mito 1.2
There was a moment of silence in between Kenta saying something and the moment Mito took action.
Her chakra chains burst out of her back as she rushed towards Kenta, intending to skewer him. She didn't know what she was doing, Kenta was way out of her league, and she could admit that much.
Even back when she was still a child, he could effortlessly wipe the floor with all the warriors that the Uzumaki clan could muster up. She didn't know what had happened to him in all the time he had spent in imprisonment but she had to do something.
Otherwise…
The scenes of the village were still imprinted in her mind. When she had grown older and had gotten access to Kenta's vile deeds, she had been very disturbed. The scenes of entire villages being filled with mummified people, their very life forces absorbed away by something, would never fade from her memory.
If she didn't want the same fate to befall Konoha, the Village built by her husband, she would have to fight.
"Whoa!" Kenta said nonchalantly as the chains seemed to curve all around him, never really reaching their intended destination. It was fine, the chains were only meant to serve as a distraction.
With a furious cry that resonated with the Nine Tails chakra, she thrust her palm and slammed it into Kenta's chest, triumph filling her as the Fuinjutsu script spread from the point of contact, Black ink spreading across Kenta's body as he watched on indifferent to what fate awaited him.
The second the ink converged on top of his head, covering his entire body, she activated the seal, the seal that was passed down to her by the Clan head, something that could be used to send someone into the void, the space between realms. Not even the Sage of the Six Paths dared to tread those realms lightly.
She was sure that Kenta would die there, ridding the world of another threat that had unexpectedly appeared.
"Oh, this looks familiar," The casual words brought her entire mind to a standstill as she watched the black ink recede from his body, until it eventually disappeared into thin air, the seal disappearing into thin air.
She couldn't even react before she felt an impact on her back as she felt all her chakra being sealed away, making her feel powerless in front of this monster.
"So, can we talk?" He asked her, looking from above as she lay, sprawled on the ground with Hiruzen trying to help her stand up again.
"Do your worst, you monster. I would rather die than help you do to Konoha what you did to those poor villagers all those years ago!" She spat at him, trying to stand up, not being used to the sudden feeling of weakness without the reassuringly warm Uzumaki chakra flowing through her body. It was as if her chakra was not just sealed but stolen.
The possibility alone was horrifying but she couldn't just let Kenta do whatever he wanted here. As strong as Konoha was, they were just not prepared to deal with someone of Kenta's caliber, not even she was, and if she was right, not even Hashirama could decisively deal with the monster in front of her.
Kenta sighed dramatically, "Look, I know that I did some pretty horrible things all those years ago but I have already been punished for that. Damn, Old Man Arashi, sending me to the multiverse of all places."
"Multiverse?" Hiruzen muttered beside her as he continuously sent out chakra pulses to stop the Shinobi standing outside from pouring in. It was odd, her chakra was completely gone, not even flowing through her body anymore, and yet, her senswing abilities were intact.
How?
She was not given the opportunity to ponder when Kenta suddenly sat down, a plush chair forming out of thin air underneath him.
"Look, the time I spent in the multiverse has changed me. I am not the old bloodthirsty…and insane Kenta you once knew. I have changed and as proof of that, I will let you go, even though the transgression of touching me would have had you killed if you had done that in my city,"
His city?
"What is going on, Mito-sama?" Hiruzen whispered behind her, still sending his chakra in pulses to stop the shinobi outside from rushing into their needless death. Kenta might have some interest in her due to her Uzumaki lineage and into Hiruzen because he was the Hokage but she doubted he would spare anyone who came barging in.
Kenta then snapped his fingers and the next moment, her chakra came roaring back. She closed her eyes, shuddering in ecstasy, as her Chakra returned to her.
Her eyes snapped open as she stood up, towering over the now sitting, amused looking Kenta.
"This is Kenta Uzumaki, the reason Arashi-sama had to come back from their tomb and die in the process of sealing him. The Crimson Scourge, they called him back when I was a little kid in Uzu," She told Hiruzen, warning him of the monster in front of them.
"Oh, you wound me, Mito-chan. Look at how you've grown. Oh, well well well, look at what you have inside of you,"
Her fists clenched as she felt Kenta's doujutsu seeing through her. He probably sensed the Nine Tails sealed inside her.
"Oh, that came out wrong. I was talking about the Nine Tails you have sealed inside of you. So, old man Tetsu was able to finish his Sentient Chakra Sealing Formation, then?" Kenta asked her as the atmosphere in the office lightened.
Kenta looked at the still tense Hiruzen and her, sighed, and said, "Look, I was just out and about on a stroll when I sensed something happening to the gate that sealed the doorway to this cluster of the multiverse. OId Man Arashi was truly a monster, even going so far as to sacrifice his soul to make sure the gate remained closed."
Her mind shook from the revelations and she finally understood why the field of seals that explored the realms outside the Shinobi World was expressly forbidden by the elders and all the knowledge regarding those was purged from the Uzu libraries.
It was only because of Kenta and what he had become.
"The Yin shredder barrier that kept Uzu safe fell, obviously, and with that, the remnant energies of Old Man Arashi disappeared into the void, leaving the gate to his world open. I have great respect for Old Man Arashi, the bastard taught me most of what I know. For that and for that reason alone, I am here."
"Now, who destroyed Uzu and how many do I need to kill before I find them?" Kenta's words reverbed in the Meeting Room, his voice alone bringing pressure capable of pressing her to her knees.
The sheer strength behind those words, this presence, it was horrifying.
"....M-Mito-sama, what is he?" The terrified words of Hiruzen reached her ears as she looked at the warping air in front of them.
Right, she was the elder here, she couldn't really afford to fall down right now. So, with much difficulty, she looked Kenta right in the eye and said, "Kenta, stop this right now. The people here are innocent. We can talk in the Senju Estate," She said as she handed over a Flying Thunder God Kunai to Kenta.
The pressure disappeared as Kenta looked over the seals etched on the Kunai, "Hmm, Short range space linked teleportation. Object resonance required. Huh, good work for someone clearly of Non Uzumaki lineage. This person must be a genius by normal standards. Very well, let's go to the…Senju Estate?
Why would you be living in the Senju Estate? Where is the Uzumaki Estate in this place?
What is this place anyway? Why am I sensing all these different flavors of chakra?"
The barrage of questions was endless but strangely, she felt relaxed because of them. It meant that Kenta was not razor focused on violence and she could use that.
"Let's go," she said and then activated the jutsu, finding herself standing in the Seal Room once again. She had actually carved seals throughout the Senju Estate so she could teleport back to any given area with ease.
As expected, Kenta arrived a moment later, with a flash of blood red, his red eyes boring into her, as if trying to read her mind.
And it was a legitimate possibility. It was only due to the confidence she had in her mind arts, something that Kenta himself had invented in his early days, that gave her the confidence to match Kenta's gaze.
For some reason, he had not immediately ransacked the mind of the nearest person he could find, and took all the information he needed out of them.
Something was different and she would get to the root of it.
It would seem that Mito still had a lot of work left to do before she could pass on the burden to young Kushina and meet Hashirama in the Pure Lands.
