Chapter 31: Chapter 31 : Game
Linggis sighed in relief as he sipped the remaining broth from his ramen bowl. "Finally, some peace," he muttered. He gripped his mouse and opened his favorite game, an MMORPG known for its brutal PvP system.
On the screen, Linggis' character — a masked female assassin clad in a long coat and wielding two glowing purple daggers — was preparing to face an opponent in the PvP arena. His opponent this time was "Dewi," a famous player with long blue hair and a massive, gleaming golden sword. Dewi's stats were clearly above average, but Linggis only smirked.
"I've said it before, high stats don't always mean victory," he said as he started moving swiftly.
The battle was intense. Dewi's sword strikes were almost always accurate, but Linggis cleverly dodged and countered. He read Dewi's movement patterns with exceptional precision.
In less than five minutes, the game displayed a notification:
"Victory! You have defeated Rana2452."
Linggis leaned back in his chair, chuckling. "That was easy."
But a new notification popped up on the screen:
**"Congratulations! For defeating Rana2452, you have two reward options:
Fight the Hidden Boss.
Meet Rana2452, who is interested in you."**
Linggis frowned for a moment. "What the heck is option two? Interested? She's just a game player. Why does it have to be weird like this?" he muttered. Without thinking twice, he clicked the first option.
"You have chosen: Fight the Hidden Boss. The battle will begin in 10 seconds."
Elsewhere, a girl with dark blue hair sat in front of her monitor. Her face was beautiful, but now she looked sullen as she glared at the screen. "So he chose the hidden boss over meeting me?" she muttered, annoyed.
The girl — the player behind Dewi — stared at the screen with a mix of curiosity and irritation. "Linggis, huh? You think I don't know who you are? You'll regret making me mad," she said as she hacked into observer mode to watch Linggis' battle against the hidden boss.
Meanwhile, Linggis stared at his monitor with a serious expression. The hidden boss that appeared was a massive, dragon-like creature with gleaming black scales and glowing red eyes. An additional notification appeared on the screen:
"Boss: Abyssal Wyrm. Difficulty: Mythic. No second chances."
Linggis let out a small laugh. "Interesting. It's been a while since I've had a challenge like this." He cracked his knuckles, ready for an epic battle.
