I'm in the world of Young Sheldon TV series

Chapter 31: Paige

A few days had passed since Alex awakened his new abilities.

Because of that, he had been very busy recently, developing technologies that once seemed impossible.

Thanks to his ability to manipulate matter at the subatomic level, Alex felt as though he'd walked thousands of miles in a single step.

A few days ago, the final part needed to assemble his computer was delivered.

Alex tried to cancel the order, but the item had already been shipped. He could only cancel the remaining unfulfilled orders and get a refund.

By now, the computer he had planned no longer served its original purpose—it was a bit of a waste.

Still, Alex didn't discard it. He installed the operating system he developed himself.

Since he was used to Windows 10, the design was quite similar, but with a more high-tech feel.

Alex had developed many other technologies seen only in science fiction movies.

In the lab, Alex stared at a 3D model of Baymax from Big Hero 6.

"How much longer until the prototype is ready?" he asked the empty air.

Soon, a robotic female voice responded: [Sir, the estimated time is two hours.]

"All right. Once the robot is built, notify me through my watch," Alex replied.

He waved his hand and the hologram vanished. After checking the lab to make sure nothing dangerous was left out, Alex stepped outside.

He had been so busy lately that he stopped attending college classes.

But now that he had free time, he decided to go back the next day.

He had heard from Dr. John that a guest would be visiting his lecture—it would be great for both him and Sheldon to meet her.

Alex was very excited. He was finally going to meet her.

...

Alex arrived at college a little late. When he entered the classroom, he saw Sheldon complaining to Dr. John.

Listening in, Alex walked closer.

"I liked it too," Alex said.

Dr. John turned and noticed him.

"Great, now we have all three young geniuses together. I thought you wouldn't show up," Dr. John said.

"Who are you?" Paige asked, curious.

Alex looked into her eyes and replied with a smile, "My name is Alex Coleman."

"Wait, I recognize that name—you're very popular on the science forum," Paige said, surprised.

Sheldon looked at Alex, confused—he had been so busy, he hadn't had time to check the science forum.

"What do you mean?" he asked, puzzled.

"Yes, someone with that name has been answering many difficult scientific threads," Dr. John said.

"Your ideas are innovative—they've left many scientists speechless."

"Your theory on extracting energy from antimatter is very intriguing," Paige added.

Alex didn't say anything—he just sat down. Ever since his mind expanded, he felt like he could do anything.

If they saw all the hidden technologies inside his lab, wouldn't they go mad?

"I'm Paige—I hope we can be friends," Paige said.

"Of course, I'd love that," Alex replied, extending a hand for a handshake.

After introductions, the class went smoothly. Alex enjoyed meeting Paige a lot.

Just like in the TV series, she was cheerful and liked teasing little Sheldon.

After returning home, Alex went back to his lab.

He had been working on Baymax's medical chip. Glancing at the red case in the corner of the room, he smiled with satisfaction.

Since he was still in the year 1990, the internet wasn't very developed, and many resources were hard to find.

That's why Alex had to compile the required medical knowledge himself. He thought creating a neural scanner would be helpful.

The reason he hadn't built one yet was simply that he hadn't felt the need—until now, when he had to write over ten thousand medical procedures by hand.

He realized this technology would be essential for future projects, like nanorobots or the immersive virtual gaming capsule.

His mind began working in parallel to research both fields. With his current capabilities, he could handle more than ten projects simultaneously.

------

This chapter serves as an introduction to the new volume.

In the next chapters, I'll focus more on the dialogue and interactions between the characters.

Baymax or Dabai — I know, it's very cliché — but I didn't want to have to create a T-800 from The Terminator.

I'm not a Star Wars fan, but thanks to my brother, I remember a few scenes. I imagined Alex building some of those robots, spaceships, or even a lightsaber.

I don't quite remember if it's in Star Trek that they have that food synthesizer. A technology that, if it existed in the real world, would be incredibly convenient.

And no, I think it would be weird to create a machine that makes food rain from the sky. Just imagine if a piece of meat fell on someone's head — it could kill them, don't you think?

Jokes aside...

I keep wondering how Sheldon would react. Or maybe Alex should keep those things hidden from everyone?
