Chapter 59: Chapter 59 - Bringing the Future Forward!
Chapter 59 - Bringing the Future Forward!
Baraggan's spiritual pressure had completely vanished.
Both Harribel and Aizen understood what this meant.
Harribel's mind went blank, her bone-like mask, yet to become a full Arrancar, revealed an expression of sheer horror.
No one in Hueco Mundo knew Baraggan's power better than her. She had intended to be the mantis stalking the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind.
Never did she expect Baraggan to be annihilated in one strike, without even seeing the figure who killed him.
What kind of strength was this? A Shinigami capable of such power?
Because she didn't see Gilgamesh in action, she assumed Baraggan was killed by Aizen.
Aizen, Gin, and Tōsen finally understood the true power of Gungnir.
They fell silent.
Gin and Tōsen instinctively looked at Aizen, waiting for his instructions.
Aizen's gaze was fixed on Gilgamesh, his hand holding Kyōka Suigetsu trembling slightly.
After witnessing Gungnir's true power, a fear arose within Aizen that he had never felt before.
Gungnir's power was terrifying. Aizen knew that if he had been in Baraggan's place, he would have died as well.
What could he use to fight against such power? Kyōka Suigetsu?
Why could Gilgamesh ignore Kyōka Suigetsu's complete hypnosis?
Aizen didn't know.
The only thing he knew was that everything about Gilgamesh defied his understanding of the world.
Aizen sensed the gazes from Gin and Tōsen and understood their meaning.
But he didn't know what to do next.
Continuing to fight Gilgamesh was impossible, at least for now.
As for escaping, that was a joke.
Not to mention Gungnir's fate-like targeting, Vimana alone made escape impossible.
The situation seemed hopeless.
On Vimana.
Gilgamesh retrieved all his treasures and sat back on his throne, gently petting the stunned Yoruichi. He spoke, "Aizen Sōsuke, Gin Ichimaru, Kaname Tōsen, Tier Harribel, come forward and meet your king."
Pausing briefly, Gilgamesh continued, "I grant you permission to board this divine chariot of kings, Vimana."
His voice was calm and youthful, yet it carried an undeniable authority.
They instinctively resisted but found their bodies moving uncontrollably.
Aizen, Gin, and Tōsen wondered who Harribel was, as only the three of them were present.
Harribel, on the other hand, wondered how Gilgamesh knew of her and why he wanted to see her.
And why did he call himself a king? What was this "divine chariot of kings"?
Despite her reluctance, Harribel thought of Gungnir and its inexplicable accuracy. She gritted her teeth and headed towards Vimana.
Going might offer a chance of survival. Refusing would likely mean facing Gungnir's deadly spear.
Knowing her choice, Harribel moved towards Vimana.
Due to the distance, Aizen, Gin, and Tōsen boarded Vimana first, standing silently before Gilgamesh.
Gilgamesh sat lazily on his throne, saying nothing, as if waiting for something.
They realized he was waiting for Tier Harribel.
But who was she?
As they pondered, Harribel boarded Vimana.
Seeing her, they were surprised. Gin couldn't help but remark, "So it's a Hollow?"
Aizen's face showed confusion.
Even he didn't know Harribel's name, so how did Gilgamesh? Had Gilgamesh been to Hueco Mundo before him?
Upon boarding Vimana, Harribel's gaze was immediately drawn to the beautiful, regal youth on the throne.
Despite being a Hollow, she couldn't deny Gilgamesh's stunning appearance, stirring emotions within her. Instinctively, she wanted to be close to him.
But as she approached, her desire to be near him subsided, and she became more reserved.
This feeling reminded her of facing Baraggan, but stronger.
"King!" The word floated in her mind.
Taking a deep breath to steady herself, Harribel asked, "Who are you? How do you know me? Why do you want to see me?"
These questions intrigued Aizen, Gin, and Tōsen as well.
Gilgamesh smiled slightly and replied, "Remember this well. My name is Gilgamesh, the oldest Hero King of humanity."
Aizen and Gin trembled at his acknowledgment, though they tried to remain outwardly calm.
Tōsen and Harribel, unfamiliar with the Epic of Gilgamesh, didn't grasp the significance of "the oldest Hero King of humanity."
Gilgamesh continued, "The current ruler of Hueco Mundo has been slain by me. I need a new ruler to manage Hueco Mundo for me."
"And you are my chosen new ruler."
Gilgamesh's brief words carried immense weight, difficult for those present to process.
Harribel instinctively wanted to refuse, but Gilgamesh spoke again before she could.
"There have been three rulers of Hueco Mundo."
"The first was Baraggan Louisenbairn."
"The second is Aizen Sōsuke."
"The third will be you, Tier Harribel."
"I am merely bringing the future forward."
