Chapter 60 - Predetermined Destiny!

The information contained in Gilgamesh's words was overwhelming.

Especially the phrase, "I am merely bringing the future forward," which left everyone momentarily unable to process. Tōsen couldn't help but ask aloud.

"What are you talking about? How could Captain Aizen be the second ruler of Hueco Mundo? He clearly isn't..."

At this point, Tōsen froze, as if realizing something, cold sweat forming on his face as he murmured, "Yes, he isn't now, but in the future?"

The difference between 'foresee' and 'see' might be subtle, but the meanings were vastly different.

Foreseeing the future is more about predicting possible outcomes, not absolute certainties.

Seeing the future means witnessing predetermined events that will definitely occur.

Aizen understood the significant difference between the two. He wanted to say something, but couldn't find the words, only feeling his heart tremble slightly.

As for Gin, Tōsen, and Harribel, Gilgamesh's words struck them like a thunderclap, leaving their minds blank.

Under the illumination of the Omniscient Star, Gilgamesh perceived their thoughts.

Aizen's conflicted thoughts intrigued Gilgamesh, prompting him to ask, "How about it, Aizen Sōsuke? Do you wish to know your future?"

Gilgamesh's ability to perceive his thoughts did not surprise Aizen. He had known this for some time, so he showed no emotional reaction.

Aizen was torn. On one hand, he wanted to know if he would succeed, surpassing the limits of a Shinigami and replacing the Soul King.

On the other hand, the fact that Gilgamesh could see his future meant his destiny was already predetermined.

This was the greatest mockery for someone who had always sought to break free from the shackles of fate.

Gilgamesh's interested expression only intensified Aizen's sense of fate's maliciousness.

To Gilgamesh, the fate that others desperately wanted to escape seemed like a toy he could manipulate at will.

Clenching his fists, Aizen's heart roared with defiance.

Gilgamesh watched Aizen's inner turmoil.

Before Aizen could decide, Gilgamesh made the decision for him, saying, "Your fate was indeed arranged from the start."

Aizen lowered his head, his body motionless, as if lifeless, falling into a deep silence.

Gin and Tōsen, overwhelmed by the implications of Gilgamesh's words, had no time to think about Aizen.

Gilgamesh turned his gaze to them.

Meeting Gilgamesh's eyes, Gin and Tōsen swallowed hard, sensing what was coming.

Sure enough, they heard Gilgamesh say, "Your fates, too, were arranged from the start."

Gilgamesh looked at Gin first, "Meeting Rangiku Matsumoto, witnessing Aizen Sōsuke take her soul fragment, vowing to avenge her by staying close to Aizen..."

Then he looked at Tōsen, "Born blind, meeting Kakyō, witnessing Kakyō's tragic death, Aizen's redemption, and deciding to carry out your own justice..."

"All of it is meant to serve Aizen, not to fulfill your own goals. Afterward, you will 'retire'."

At the last words, Gilgamesh's expression grew ambiguous.

He then turned back to Gin, "Honestly, I initially wanted to kill you."

"Between you and Aizen, I chose Aizen."

"But now, I give you a chance. It's up to you."

Though Gilgamesh didn't spell it out, Gin understood his meaning.

Even knowing everything was fate's design, could he let go of his hatred for Aizen?

At this moment, Aizen suddenly asked, "Can fate truly be rewritten?"

Gilgamesh paused before answering with certainty, "Yes, but only I can rewrite fate."

"So far, I have rewritten many fates."

"You have seen Baraggan's and Harribel's fates rewritten."

"In the future, I will rewrite even more fates."

Aizen, silent for a moment, looked up at Gilgamesh and asked, "Was our fate arranged by the Soul King?"

Gilgamesh anticipated this question, answering, "The Soul King can indeed see the future and influence its path."

"But even that is part of fate, including its own creation."
