Kakashi and the others stood up, looking toward the tree.

A man with his face wrapped in bandages and a slanted forehead protector stood atop the large sword embedded in the tree.

"The rogue ninja from the Village Hidden in the Mist, elite jonin Momochi Zabuza?"

Kakashi's expression turned grim as he recognized the man.

He had heard of Zabuza—the brutal man who had slaughtered all his peers during his graduation exam.

Naruto and the others gasped when they heard Kakashi's words, staring at Zabuza with wide eyes.

Although they didn't recognize the name, they understood the terms rogue ninja and elite jonin.

Even Naruto knew what that meant.

After all, Kakashi himself was an elite jonin. Not understanding this would be an insult to Kakashi's rank.

A dense mist spread out, covering the entire area and obscuring everyone's vision. Zabuza's figure faded into the mist.

Naruto and the others were stunned. "He—he disappeared?"

Kakashi's eyes grew serious. He sighed, pulling up his forehead protector to reveal his Sharingan. "Stay alert. Protect Tazuna. He'll come for me first, but you should still be on guard."

"Kakashi-sensei, your eye?"

The group was stunned as they stared at his exposed eye.

"Oh, this?" Kakashi replied expressionlessly. "A friend gave it to me. But this isn't the time to explain."

Hearing that, Naruto and Sakura stopped asking questions and moved closer to form a protective circle around Tazuna.

Sasuke, however, remained rooted to the spot, staring at Kakashi in disbelief.

He couldn't believe his eyes. That was clearly the Uchiha clan's Sharingan.

As one of the last two Uchiha, even he hadn't awakened his Sharingan, yet Kakashi already had a fully developed three-tomoe Sharingan.

"Sasuke, are you okay?"

Sakura noticed his expression and asked worriedly.

"I'm fine," Sasuke said, shaking his head.

He moved to join the others, pushing down his curiosity for now. This wasn't the time to ask questions.

Suddenly, a voice echoed from all directions.

"Eight spots—"

"Throat, spine, lungs, liver, carotid artery, collarbone, kidneys, heart…"

The sudden voice made everyone tense up.

"Which one should I go for first?" Zabuza's cold voice rang out again, accompanied by an overwhelming killing intent.

"Ahhh!"

Overwhelmed by fear, Sakura screamed and fell to the ground.

Kakashi noticed her reaction and frowned, but before he could say anything, he sensed something. His eyes narrowed as he pulled out a kunai to block.

Clang!

Zabuza appeared in front of him, his massive sword clashing with Kakashi's kunai.

"Impressive reflexes, as expected of the famous Copy Ninja."

Kakashi didn't respond. With a quick twist of his arm, he deflected the sword and counterattacked with his kunai.

Zabuza dodged, retreating back into the mist.

Kakashi's face darkened as he formed hand seals at lightning speed. "Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!"

A fierce gust of wind blew away the surrounding mist, revealing Zabuza once again standing on the water's surface.
