In Order to Live as an Immortal, I changed a martial artist world to a xianxia world

Chapter 31 - Martial Heroes Gather on Mount Wudang!

Chapter 31: Martial Heroes Gather on Mount Wudang!

“If you refuse to surrender your swords,” Mo Shenggu declared coldly, “then your entire Emei sect can remain here!”

His words brought the atmosphere to a tense standoff.

Miejue Shitai froze, staring at Mo Shenggu in disbelief. This isn’t how things are suppose to unfold!

In her eyes, Wudang had always accommodated Emei in the past, typically avoiding outright conflict. Why, then, is Mo Shenggu suddenly taking such a firm stance?

Shock quickly gave way to fury. As the leader of Emei, Miejue Shitai could not tolerate being humiliated in front of so many martial artists. If she didn’t reclaim her dignity now, her reputation in the martial world would be in tatters.

A chilling aura emanated from her as she turned her steely gaze to Mo Shenggu.

“What now? Are you planning to fight?” Mo Shenggu raised his brow, his voice steady yet sharp.

The imposing energy of a Grandmaster of Celestial Phenomena radiated from him, clashing with Miejue Shitai’s own aura.

In the past, Wudang had shown leniency toward Emei, primarily due to Zhang Sanfeng’s presence. But today was different. Zhang Sanfeng, the legendary Land Immortal, was absent.

Moreover, the martial artists climbing Mount Wudang had no goodwill. Allowing Miejue Shitai to bring the Emei sect’s swords onto the mountain would set a dangerous precedent, undermining Wudang’s authority.

Around them, murmurs spread as the gathered martial artists watched the rising tension.

“What’s going to happen?”

“Are they really going to fight?”

“This is getting intense!”

Those gathered began to back away cautiously. While the martial artists present were strong, the most powerful among them only reached the Spiritual Pivot Mastery realm. None dared intervene in a battle between two Grandmasters of the Celestial Phenomena realm.

“Amithaba,” came a solemn voice, breaking the silence.

[Amitabha translates to “Infinite Light” or “Boundless Radiance.” It is often used as a greeting or exclamation in Buddhist practice, meaning “May the Buddha bless you” or “Homage to Amitabha Buddha.”]

A group of monks clad in kasayas appeared, led by Abbot Kongwen of Shaolin.

[Kongwen can be interpreted as “Hearing Emptiness” or “Awareness of the Void,” reflecting deep spiritual insight, mindfulness, and mastery of Buddhist teachings.]

“Revered Shitai,” Kongwen addressed Miejue Shitai calmly, “since Wudang has its rules, we must respect them. Today is Zhang Sanfeng’s birthday celebration. Let us observe proper decorum.”

Kongwen’s words were measured yet firm. He understood that nearly everyone present had converged on Mount Wudang with ulterior motives.

However, clashing with Wudang prematurely would only complicate matters. Zhang Sanfeng, even in his absence, was a figure whose influence loomed large. Any rash moves would be foolish before they could confront Zhang Cuishan directly.

“Fine!” Miejue Shitai snapped. “Since Abbot Kongwen has spoken, I will defer.”

Turning to her disciples, she commanded, “Surrender your swords and ascend the mountain!”

Relieved, she seized the opportunity to avoid an unnecessary battle. Still, her face was ice-cold, as if conceding not to Wudang but out of respect for Shaolin.

“Understood, Master!” The Emei disciples quickly obeyed, leaving their weapons by the Sword Releasing Stone.

[Sword Releasing Stone (卸剑石): A traditional site in Wudang where visitors leave their weapons, symbolizing respect and peace while entering sacred grounds.]

Kongwen turned to Mo Shenggu. “Will this suffice, Mo Daxia?”

His tone carried an edge, making it clear that Shaolin’s patience had its limits.

Mo Shenggu, however, was unmoved. With a curt nod, he replied, “Abbot, you may proceed.”

Kongwen gave a slight bow and began his ascent, followed closely by the Shaolin disciples.

“Move!” Miejue Shitai ordered her followers as she swept up the mountain.

Mo Shenggu’s gaze lingered on her retreating figure before addressing the remaining martial artists.

“Anyone else wishing to ascend must leave their weapons here. Refuse, and you may leave instead!”

Intimidated by Mo Shenggu’s unyielding demeanour, the martial artists quickly complied, surrendering their weapons.

Inside Zhenwu Hall, Song Yuanqiao and the others watched the growing congregation of martial artists on the mountain.

Their expressions were grave. Among the arrivals, they had already identified several Grandmasters of the Celestial Phenomena realm. While no Land Immortals had appeared yet, the sheer number of powerful individuals was cause for concern.

The pressure weighed heavily on them.

“Let’s go,” Song Yuanqiao finally said, breaking the silence. “It’s time to meet these esteemed martial artists.”

He knew all too well why these visitors had come, but Wudang could not afford to show weakness.

“Agreed,” Zhang Songxi said with a faint smile. “Let’s see if they truly believe Wudang is so easily bullied.”
