Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System

Chapter 140: Bella breaks character, Opinion on the Girls...?

After catching up to her 'husband,' Bella went on a long rant about how much she liked kitties. It was only after nearly half an hour of her yapping at a dessert shop that she brought up a different subject.

"Yoush goingzz to da schoolss tomorrow, aren'tt ya?" she asked while cupping her stuffed cheeks in delight.

Cassius struggled to maintain his deadpan expression while staring at the normally serious girl acting like she was. Answering her question, he said, "I am indeed going to school tomorrow. Same with you?"

"Mhmm~!" Bella responded with a euphoric look on her face. "Dis cake is sho goodz~! You wants shome!? Here, have shom!"

Without waiting for his response, she spooned up a bit of the strawberry pastry she had been munching on. Filling his mouth with it, she expectantly waited for him to give his opinion on it.

At first, Cassius was just going to swallow it and say it was good regardless of how it actually tasted, but once the cake melted on his taste buds, his eyes lit up. After chewing and swallowing it all, he said, "It's good."

Bella was silent for a moment, then her face brightened up as she said, in a happy tone, "I know, right?? Hihi~"

Cassius had been feeling that something was off with the Goddess of his school for a while now; however, it was in moments like these that he felt he had just been imagining things. A large part of him simply believed that Bella was sort of like Aya or Stella in a way, all of whom pretended to be someone they weren't. He wasn't certain that this was actually the case, but it was the best theory he could come up with on his own.

'People are complicated living organisms, and women even more so,' Cassius thought to himself while enjoying his time with the girl that shone like a blinding star. 'Since the Idle Evolution System came into my life, I have met many unique girls, all with their own unique stories.'

'Stella, I feel the most kinship with as we have similar unsolved pasts. Her mysteries are my mysteries.'

'Memphis, I see as a younger sister, with her past also fully laid out before me.'

Ooof. She felt that one while hunting A-Rank Monsters in Low Purple-rank Gate in New Zealand.

'Sasha, an excellent mother, is very unlike how she was in my previous timeline. On top of everything else that came along with this whacked Isekai, I am extremely grateful that I was able to experience the real version of Sasha. Her kindness will surely bring her daughter to great heights.'

'My father truly doesn't deserve a woman like her… Haiz…'

After a brief pause, he continued where he left off:

'...Aya, she is… a good girl, but has a serious case of Tsundere. Her personality will definitely bring her a lot of trouble in the future, particularly when it comes to boyfriends. But oh well, I'm sure she'll make it through it all just fine. After all, she's very… uhm… aggressive.'

Cassius sighed while thinking about that troublesome girl, yet he still wore a fond expression.

Suddenly recalling the faint silhouette of an angelic girl, his thoughts once more swirled:

'Grace, a shy girl who acts oddly forward when one least expects her to. Adorable describes her quite well. As for her past, I don't know much besides the name of her household, that she comes from an affluent background, and… nothing else… I know a lot of what she likes and dislikes. She likes sweets, likes fuzzy animals, likes her pomeranian, Snow, and likes the simpler things in life. I also know that she dislikes spiders, any other creepy crawlies, and horror movies.'

His expression turned thoughtful. 'However, I have no clue what she had been doing before she met me. I've never seen her family; I don't even know their names. If not for her saying that her parents were strict, I would begin to think that they were no longer with her in this world…'

Cassius originally believed that Hellion had the most mysteries surrounding her, but now he felt like Grace was up there as well.

That was when a far-fetched idea appeared in his mind.

'Grace wouldn't happen to be the Vampire that bit me, would she???' It was a crazy thought, but it wasn't completely out of the question. 'If she's a Duke Vampire Descendant, then it's very possible that she bit me without my knowledge when I was weaker. But even if this insane speculation was actually true, why would someone as sweet as Grace do something like that behind my back? It doesn't make sense…'

"Hey, Cassius, are you seeing this right now!? The waiters are bringing out a large multi-layered cake! It has sparklers sticking out of it!" an excited girly voice momentarily interrupted Cassius's thoughts.

He looked over and saw Bella's pearly white canines shine through her wide toothy grin. Responding to her exhilaration, he smiled and blew out a few of the sparklers.

Getting back to his inner thoughts, Cassius finished up the wrap sheet that compiled all of his ambiguous relationships: Discover hidden tales at My Virtual Library Empire

'Grace… I will look more into it later. And even if she does turn out to be the Duke Vampire Descendant that bit me, I won't be mad. In fact, I'll have to thank her for increasing my strength by another few notches. There's also all the useful Abilities that the biter gave me. As I'm discovering more and more of them, I realize more and more just how versatile and powerful a Duke Vampire can become.'

His heart filled with a little appreciation before his mind traced back to the last couple of girls on his list.

'Bella… Hmm…' He observed the happily munching girl and instantly erased anything negative that almost formed within him. 'She's an odd one; too serious a lot of the time, and hides beneath both a mask and inside a shell, but she's nice to be around when it really comes down to it. Her past is also transparent, as I know my father knew her father, and they were business partners or something of the sort. I also faintly recall a beautiful silhouette who should be her mother. Bella, as well as her whole family, are very wealthy to boot, though I can't say for certain in recent years as I haven't met them since I was but a child.'
