Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System

Chapter 451: 20,000 Evolution Points

Necro's melancholic reply was paired with the recalling of blurry memories that showed all the times Yi Yu would stop by and make sure he was doing well.

All the way up until the day she stopped coming…

Everything after that was blended together. Only after his consciousness truly started to form did his memories become clearer.

"That's enough of that," Necro said to change the subject. "Why don't we talk about your accommodations?"

"Accommodations?"

"You plan to sleep, don't you?" asked Necro.

Lang Qingyue blushed, lowering her head. While twirling the ends of her hair strands, she softly said, "I can just sleep… inside you…"

Silence…

"No."

Instant rejection!

"#2, #6, and #7, go build her a small house over by that large tree," Necro instructed. "Hmm, wait, let me first show you how it should be made."

He used a thin sliver of one of his branches to draw in the dirt the architectural designs described in a simple home blueprint he happened across some time ago.

After some time of explaining, only to receive confused head tilts in response, Necro finally got through to the Shadow Tree Soldiers. They then immediately got to work on the construction of the house.

It only took them a little more than half an hour to make a quaint home that looked almost professionally done!

"Wow!" Lang Qingyue clapped. "You guys are so awesome! Thanks so much!"

The Shadow Tree Soldiers that made her residence showed smug looks. Those looks stayed even while they were leaving the scene with smoothed chunks of wood on their shoulders.

Could this be considered cannibalism?

Possibly…

"Your helpers are scary at first glance, but they're actually so talented," Lang Qingyue said in awe. "I wish I had some of my own—"

"You can. I'll give you one."

"Huh…?"

She meant it as a joke, but did she actually have a chance of receiving a gift so grand!?

"N-Necro, I was just kidding," Lang Qingyue said with a scarlet blush. "You shouldn't do something so nice for someone like me…"

"It's honestly fine," Necro said casually. "In fact, you'd be doing me a favor by getting this to do something."

"???"

"You see," Necro began, "These guys are created from a part of me. They're like my children, in a sense. And though the majority of them are perfect subordinates and servants, there was one who…"

"Well, simply put, he's a defect," Necro finished, disappointedly shaking his head. "Somehow, as the first of my children, he was the only one to develop a unique personality trait."

"Is he rebellious or something? Maybe a deva??"

"No…" Necro made an ashamed expression. "He's just really, really—"

"—Lazy."

"Pfft~"

"What's so funny?" asked Necro, genuinely puzzled.

"It's just that… Isn't he basically a carbon copy of you, Necro?" Lang Qingyue giggled, imagining two versions of Necro trying to reach for a snack from a couch but both failing horribly.

"Hey, I'm not that lazy…"

"Whatever," Necro huffed. "Come on out, Lazy. Meet your new Master."

Thud!

Rustle, rustle!

From a formation of bushes, a shadowy wooden figure who could barely even walk straight approached the massive tree with the core at the center.

"Guh… Guh…?"

Lazy seemed to be trying to say, "What the hell, man! I was sleeping good, ya know!? I even fell off a tree because my name was called!"

"Lazy can't speak the language of humans, and even I can barely understand him, but it's not like much is going on in that head of his anyway." Necro beckoned Lazy over, though had to wait a good second for him to fumble over. "Although I don't know if it's possible, you can try to whip him into shape."

Lang Qingyue smiled and hopped over to the drowsy-faced tree humanoid who looked far different from his brethren.

"My name's Lang Qingyue," she announced with a smile. "It's very nice to meet you, Lazy!"

Lazy's squinted eyes traced the woman up and down.

However, they suddenly opened!

"Guh, guh… guh…"

Translation: 'Beautiful, cute, beautiful…'

Necro conveyed the message to Lang Qingyue, to which she said, "Thank you very much, Mr. Lazy!"

With a marveled look on his wooden face, Lazy turned to his Creator. A thumbs up was given, acting as if he approved of this new Master.

"Maybe you'll work a little harder for her sake then," Necro said in a hopeful tone. "Perhaps one day, you'll even join the others in the Hunting Parties."

Lazy revealed a look so disgusted that he nearly puked out a pinecone just imagining a future like that.

"...Or not…"

Necro sighed, realizing that change for this one might just be the equivalent of wanting to steal the moon.

"Haiz… Just go check out the house with Lang Qingyue, and be good," he said to Lazy. "Remember, no one is allowed to disturb me."

"I'll be right here when you wake up again, Necro!" Lang Qingyue waved his way, blessing the world with a blinding smile. "I want to be the first person you see, hehe~"

"...Okay…"

Closing his eyes, Necro returned to his state of hibernation.

Winter rolled on by, giving way to spring. It was on a day when the temperatures started to rise for the year that news related to the 'subjugation' of the Barbarian Tribes to the south circulated.

It didn't take long at all for this whole section of the Forest of Jagga to learn that over five of the Barbarian Tribes had been completely wiped out. And though it was with many sacrifices, the Righteous Faction managed to get Barbarian Lord Usopp to negotiate terms with them.

However, in the Mountainpass where Necro was obscured from view, this information never reached him.

But something else did…

[Your total Evolution Points have surpassed 20,000!]

"20,000…" Necro murmured. "Even with half of my Shadow Tree Soldiers venturing along the coastline to the North in search of stronger opponents, EP acquisition has definitely slowed down a lot…"
