"Hm?" Necro looked at Su Yu with a puzzled gleam in his alluring eyes. "I'm a human. A completely normal human. I've just been living in the forest my whole life, so I took on a few properties of a tree."

Huh…!?

How in the hell would that make any sense!?

You don't just turn into a tree person if you spend prolonged periods of time in a forest!

That was possibly the dumbest shit Su Yu had ever heard before.

"Tell me the trut—"

"You criminals!" A group of armored figures in the Qi Condensation Realm suddenly appeared on the other side of the gaping hole in the barrier formation. "Forcibly intruding into River Mountain City is a grave crime and sin that is accompanied by the death sentence! So tell me, criminals, are you ready to di—"

"Get lost!" Su Yu cursed. She was already frustrated and annoyed over Necro's nonsense, and now there were these nobodies thinking they could sentence her to death.

How infuriating!

"How dar—"

"Be quiet, idiot!" A guard hurriedly covered the mouth of a different guard. "Are you really blind, or can you not see the insignia that's stitched onto her dress!?" he whispered.

"!!!" "!!!"

That was when the ignorant among them viewed the insignia and felt waves of dread wash over them.

"My Lady!" They bowed, with large beads of sweat running down their foreheads. "We greet the Heir of House Blue Legion—Su Yu, the 6th Young Lady!"

"At least you have eyes at this juncture," Su Yu scoffed arrogantly, shooing them off. "Now get out of my sight right this instant. And tell your superiors to overlook this incident; the barrier will fully recover in a couple minutes anyway."

"Yes, ma'am!"

The guards ran away like their lives depended on it. They were obviously scared witless, and all because of the insignia stitched on a dress.

"Fufu~! That was pretty impressive, wasn't it? Wasn't it??" Su Yu dropped the pompous young lady act as soon as the guards disappeared, and was now staring at Necro with sparkling eyes that begged for attention. "Am I not so awesome!?"

Necro nodded apathetically. "Your family is indeed awesome."

Su Yu's cheeks filled with air. "You're such a meanie!"

"That may be the case," said Necro as he lifted up Lolipop and started walking toward the giant hole in River Mountain City's protective barrier. "But first and foremost, I'm a hooman."

"Bah!" Su Yu grumbled and laughed at the same time, and although she tried her best to make herself appear angry, she came off as more cute than anything. "You're just a big wild dummy!"

She then ran off ahead of Necro.

He sighed before speeding up to match her speed. However, seeing how effortlessly he did this only worked to further irritate Su Yu, urging her to put everything she had into running.

And yet…

"Huff! Huff!"

"You're quite fast," Necro said casually, watching indifferently as Su Yu gasped for oxygen. "You're only of the 3rd Layer Qi Condensation Realm, yet you're roughly as quick as a 5th Layer Qi Condensation Realm Cultivator."

Even though Su Yu liked the compliment, for some reason, she felt that he said it in a condescending way. She glared at him in an adorable manner.

"Ptui, and what realm are you in, you cheater??"

"What Realm?" Necro repeated. "I have not begun to cultivate, so no Cultivation."

Silence…

"You liar dummy!" Su Yu became even more aggrieved. "Do you think I'm stupid or something?? How else could you possibly be so powerful if not for a high cultivation base!? You even caught up to and exceeded my speed while carrying around Lolipop! And yet… to not just lie about having a lower cultivation but also outright state that you're a regular Mortal…"

"Shameless!" she declared before hugging her small breasts and averting her pouty face.

"You are free to believe what you want to," Necro said with an unbothered tone. "That is one of the primary principles of us humans, is it not?"

"There you go again speaking in that unusual way, gah!" Su Yu softly and repeatedly punched him in the chest, her pretty face contorted in adorable anger. "If not for your face, I swear I'd hit you for real, you jerk!"

"...What about my face deters you from doing that?" Necro asked.

Su Yu was taken off guard. A blush quickly painted her complexion a dark shade of red as she fixated on those near-godlike facial features of his.

"I-It's nothing, you dummy!"

She fled in the opposite direction, leaving behind a long trail of embarrassed smoke.

"How perplexing," Necro pondered while touching his face. "What about this prevents one from hitting it? And can I share this effect with the rest of my body?"

If that were possible, then wouldn't he become… invincible…?

"I should ask that strange human girl about it later," he said as he flickered in the direction Su Yu disappeared to.

The Array Formation Barrier that protected River Mountain City mostly covered an area of regular old forests and mountains. However, if one ventured far enough into the interior of the barrier, they'd discover a large, prosperous city propped atop a wide, flat plateau.

This was the actual River Mountain City, and had a width and length of over ten miles both ways.

It was also the only official City in the Great Forest of Jagga, recognized by both the Orthodox and Unorthodox Factions that operated in the area. Even those deemed itinerant cultivators and the outliers of cultivator society frequented this city.

"River Mountain City may not be the biggest or strongest in the Blue Ring Region, but it still has a couple experts of the Foundation Establishment Realm," Su Yu spoke after calming down enough. "Well, you jerk, how is it? Does the might of my family leave you in awe??"

Necro gave a listless response, but instead of getting angry again, Su Yu chortled. "You may be just a big dummy, but you're very honest and straightforward. I like that about you, Necro."

Her face turned red as soon as she said that.
