Is It Wrong to Abusing Cartoon Tropes in Dungeon?

Chapter 194: CA [194]: Legion

In Gensokyo, Hestia cemented her status as the queen of children. Her penchant for showing off was a hit among the litle girls, who, naive and trusting, believed everything she said. As a goddess, and Altair's goddess, no less, her words were gospel to them.

Hestia reveled in their collective adoration, her vanity soaring to new heights.

Sadly, none of the litle girls were keen on fighting, so no one joined the Hestia Familia. The Familia gained only two new members: Kayo Senju and Tina Sprout.

While Kayo and Tina became official adventurers, many litle girls opted against adventuring but expressed interest in visiting or living in Orario occasionally.

This suited Hestia perfectly. As the child queen, she'd often been left alone when Altair and Kirari ventured into the Dungeon, but now, with a horde of litle girls at her side, she could happily play with her "peers" while they were away.

To facilitate this, Altair granted Hestia administrative access to Gensokyo, allowing her to enter and exit at will. Studying Gensokyo's mechanics, he'd learned he could assign managers, so he made Hestia one, letting her visit the litle girls whenever she pleased.

The Hestia Familia's phone shop had needed staff, but with so many litle girls available, recruitment was no longer necessary. They could simply draw from Gensokyo.

A litle girl goddess running a shop staffed by litle girls, what could be more idyllic?

Sure enough, the day after receiving her admin rights, Hestia activated them, summoning a gaggle of eager litle girls. In front of Altair, she led her litle girl brigade out of Utopia City, charging toward the Hestia Familia's under-renovation phone shop.

Orario's adventurers on the main street that day witnessed an astonishing sight: a litle girl army led by the litle girl goddess Hestia, strutting with such confidence that everyone parted to let them pass. The adventurers gaped, dumbfounded.

Basking in her litle girls' worship and elevated status, Hestia couldn't wait to flaunt. After showing them the shop, she marched them to the Hephaestus Familia's base, catching a bored Hephaestus off guard and rubbing her success in her face.

Two new official members and a swarm of premium litle girls, Hestia practically shoved this triumph in Hephaestus's face, gloating shamelessly. The darker Hephaestus's expression grew, the smugger Hestia became.

One goddess sulked behind the counter, glaring daggers, while the other met her scowl with defiant smugness.

Hestia was one step away from saying, I've been dying to see that jealous look on your face!

Of course, if she'd said it, Hephaestus would've pummeled her. Without her divine powers, Hestia was no match for the forging goddess, who could swing a hammer with ease.

While Hestia stirred up trouble with her litle girl legion, Altair took Kirari, Kayo, and Tina to the Dungeon.

After an expedition with the Loki Familia, Altair had mapped most of the route to Floor 58. He was now ready to lead his own Familia on a solo expedition. Though they were only four, with him leading, they were more than capable.

Having reached Level 4, Altair didn't need to worry about leveling up for now. To reach Level 5, he could farm experience in the Dragon's Vase on Floors 51 to 58. This trip was to train Kayo, Tina, and Kirari.

"This is the Dungeon?" Kayo marveled. "It's incredible. How does it work? So many floors above, yet no support columns below, how doesn't it collapse? It's unscientific."

Coming from a scientific world, Kayo's 250 IQ couldn't crack the puzzle.

"It's not about science, it's magic." Altair said. "I don't know how the Dungeon formed or why it's like this. I just know it's alive and won't collapse."

"Such a fascinating place." Tina said, nodding. "Like Onii-chan said, unscientific but very magical."

She casually pulled the trigger, sniping a newly spawned monster in the distance.

"Today's just to get you familiar with the Dungeon." Altair said. "Your current weapons are fine for lower floors, but they'll fall short deeper down. I'll craft custom weapons for you later."

The litle girls' weapons, brought from the Black Bullet world, included Kayo's arsenal of submachine guns, grenades, and rifles for frontline offense, and Tina's large-caliber sniper rifle with defensive gadgets.

After joining the Familia, both gained unique skills. Amusingly, their primary skills were identical: enhanced damage with ranged weapons, simple but potent. Kayo also had a dodge blessing, giving her a chance to evade attacks at close to mid-range, while Tina's second skill, Clairvoyance, let her see far-off targets without a scope. Their skills perfectly suited their roles as a skirmisher and sniper.

Altair planned to forge magic-conducting weapons for them using the remaining Crown Ore from Loki, which was more than enough.

He also needed to focus on Kirari.

"Kirari, have you decided on your path forward?" He asked.

He'd enhanced several Loki Familia members but held off on Kirari, waiting for her to choose her direction. The Loki members already had established growth paths, which he'd merely amplified.

Werewolf Bert favored close combat, so Altair gave him Wolf Breathing and Werewolf Six Forms. Ais, a wind-based swordswoman, received Windblade Swordsmanship for her agile style. Tiona, a reckless brawler with a passive that boosted attack as her health dropped, got Tempest Swordsmanship. Altair had considered giving her a Barbarian King template for a low-health, high-damage rampage, but its health-locking ultimate was too overpowered, so he settled on Riven's abilities.

With the Loki Familia's allies upgraded and his own growth secured, it was time to enhance Kirari.

Kirari gripped her sword, gazing at the Dungeon, lost in thought.

She recalled her expedition with the Loki Familia, assigned to Ais and Lefiya's team under Altair's arrangement. Though she fought alongside Ais, her ability to handle monsters was limited. Past Floor 39, the massive creatures were nearly impervious. Her Kirisame could barely scratch them.

It wasn't just her, Ais's sword struggled too. Against dragons, Ais's blade, even with Windblade Swordsmanship and magic, only sparked harmlessly. The monsters shrugged it off.

This was the reality for melee fighters in the Deep Floors. Even Loki's Level 6s, except for the mage Riveria, faced the same issue.

Kirari refused to be like them, useless against tough monsters. Though she accepted Altair's protection, her family's teachings drove her to avoid being a burden. She wanted to slay Dungeon monsters with her own strength.

With that, she settled on her future path.

"I want to be faster, blindingly fast." She said. "And stronger, immensely strong. I want to help you fight giant monsters, not stand by helplessly like before."

"So, you've chosen your direction?" Altair asked.

"Yes, I have." Kirari affirmed.

She trusted Altair could grant her power and welcomed it. As his partner, her duty, per the Momobami family's values, was to accept, master, and wield that power to aid him.

Hearing her resolve, Altair rubbed his chin, pondering her skills.

Blazing speed, immense strength, and the ability to fell large monsters…

Got it. That's the one.

"You've already figured out how to help me, haven't you?" Kirari said, smiling, sensing his decision.

"Yep." Altair said. "I've got the perfect ability for you. It matches your needs: unmatched speed, devastating strength, and powerful slashes to cleave giant monsters."

He raised a finger.

"It even comes with an epic BGM called 'Sinner's Elegy.'"
