Chapter 1101: On the other end, another emergency
[Rein's POV: ] Discover hidden tales at My Virtual Library Empire
White flames.
They weren't just white in colors, they were entirely white and they burned.
It wasn't just about the white light that was produced because something was burning. It was not about the emission of energy due to the flue's burning. This was beyond the fundamental knowledge.
'These flames did not require a source to burn. They were the source themselves, and instead of consuming something that interacted with them, these flames gave their pure properties to that element, being or object.'
The ground around these flames started returning to its former, livelier self.
The black fog had vanished under the presence of these flames, and if that was not enough, these flames had entirely consumed the puppet of a divine being that had almost destroyed everything that was present around it.
"You sure you're fine? You just fainted-."
"That's the fifth time you're asking him that question, Elle. Let him rest instead of bothering him with these questions."
Del was not fine. That dark thing that was inside of her was not planted by the three puppets that had arrived here.
'According to her, it was something that had been present inside her for a while now.'
I never saw it, even she knew it was only a tiny fragment that would not spread anytime soon.
'The headmaster had already helped her take care of it but it was not possible to cleanse it out of her body permanently. Even I could not do it with my powers.'
It was not demonic, but something that was related to her family… specifically her father and was close to an Origin skill.
'She said there was nothing to worry about, and yet the condition she is in right now does not show the same.'
She was in a bad condition, president Zod was in a bad condition, and even the headmaster who had returned to his previous, normal state, was in a bad condition.
'Everyone had used up a huge portion of their energy so everyone was tired.'
And if that was not enough, Eon had awakened his Legacy, his special gift, the stigma that he had told me many times about.
"I'm fine, Rein… don't worry about me and instead take care of yourself.
I can tell you're not in a good condition either."
He knew I used the divine powers of my eyes. He knew I did it to save Del and he was fine with it.
Also, since this matter involved that 'seed' that was inside her, one that reacted so strongly with the external divinity, he knew what it was connected to… and he did not tell me anything about it.
"I'm much better. I wasn't being tortured by that fucking shit."
He told me a little about what he went through inside of that darkness.
He did not tell us all the details, but I could feel whatever happened there was in no way something as simple as he made it sound like.
'He most definitely went through something bad. Something horrible.'
The look in his eyes, the emotions that he was trying to hide, the way he was reacting… I could tell it with my eyes that he was in a much worse condition than he let it out.
At least, he was not mentally stable just yet.
"I'm worried about you, Eon… you should take a few more of those red potions."
"They aren't cure of everything, Rein. Besides…"
He was lying on my lap, looking up at me. But then he looked up in the front, at the artifact that now held something that would soon change the perception of the entire world towards what we understood as 'resurrection'.
"I'm not really hurt or anything. I can deal with the rest over time."
With his memory and mind being as strange as it is, I knew it would be a difficult thing to overcome the trauma that he has suffered.
Still, the smile on his face as he looked at the fruit of his months of efforts was so bright that I could not even be angry at him.
'Even though there was an unforeseen problem, we did not lose the results that they had worked so hard to produce.'
They had achieved their goal. And more than the emotions of what had just happened, the emotions that flooded the three's hearts were that of excitement, happiness, and triumph.
"You still need rest, do you hear me? You're in no condition to move, much less do something stupid again."
He was already weakened, but now he was in a worse condition. The energy channels inside of his body were torn apart because of the awakening that he had just had.
'His healing abilities had improved absurdly, but at the same time, the sustenance energy that he needed had also increased by a lot.'
It was crazy now that I took a good look at him…
"Your energy circuits did not just widen, they now have a higher purity of Mana flowing through them."
I could tell with my eyes that it was not just about Mana.
Even his Aura and Solnova had become purer.
'And if that wasn't enough, the reserve power that he needs for the maintenance of his Stigma expanded his requirements.'
All that was not a good sign. If anything, this was bad, but he wasn't going to listen to me about this since he knows his body the best and also knows what he needs to do.
He was now looking at me with eyes that said I was worried for nothing.
But then again, he knew I could not help but worry about him since, that's just how I was.
"Let's just rest for now, alright? I'm sleepy now…"
"Yes, sleep."
Placing his head back on my lap, I patted his head.
"Sleep like a baby, ok?"
If anything that might help him right now, even by a little, then that would be a good sleep.
'After all that shit, I don't think I need anything more than a good nap either.'
Headmaster seemed worried about a lot of things.
Eon's flames, those puppets, the reason they were here, the [Lifeblood] as they called it, and also the situation that we have just faced.
The headmaster was worried about a lot of things.
There were many things that he wanted to do and many that he needed to take care of, so he was already doing that as he chatted with his familiar, Harry, and relayed his message to him which the owl would then deliver to the 'people' that the headmaster was going to report to.
'I can already tell this isn't the end of all the crazy stuff.'
There is no way all of that will end with only this much. If it does, I will dig out the culprits behind this incident myself and punish them for what they did to my darling.
'Even if they are gods, they are still limited beings.'
I will punish them even if it means ascending to their level first. I am not in any hurry, but this grudge will remain with me until the day we perish.
They will see the same amount of horrors as my darling did, perhaps worse, and when that time comes…
"Rein?"
"Hmm? Yes?"
"It seems like Zoe wants to talk with all of us."
Hmmm?
"With all of us? Is she worried as well? Did you tell her there's no need for her to come-."
"It looks like it's about something else."
Something else… well, it must be about something related to this whole incident.
'Eon ended up awakening the power that he received from Zoe's mom, and this whole fight with divinities happened out of the blue, so it was obvious Zoe must be worried about him.'
The two of them were connected with a unique bond of their own so they knew everything that the other was experiencing. Besides, it was obvious for a little sister to worry about a brother who constantly jumped from one dangerous problem to another.
"Headmaster?"
"I'm listening. You can connect the connection."
He was busy already, so Eon did not bother him with more questions and connected Zoe through Celes' connection.
[{ "Hello, everyone." }]
She sounded serious.
Her usual, cheerful and carefree voice was nowhere to be heard at the moment.
[{ "I know you all have gone through something terrible, however…" }]
Just from that voice alone, all of us knew there was something wrong with her or with something.
This was serious for all of us, so, all of us paid more attention to what she was about to say.
[{ "You were busy with your fight and all so we did not disturb you previously. However… now that everything's wrapped up, I hope all of you make haste and return." }]
She wasn't talking from just her side. She was saying something concerning the whole family was happening right now.
'And whatever it was, it was serious enough for her to be in this serious state.'
And, this was no good from any angle…
[{ "Anna has gone missing." }]
That one statement from her exploded like a wildfire. And, Eon suddenly got on his feet.
[{ "Anna?! What do you mean, Zoe?!" }]
He was in no state to stand, so that sudden movement of his sent a strong pain surging throughout his body and he fell back on my lap.
Still, that did not take his sudden tension away from him…
[{ "You all should come back quickly. It is not something… I can talk about like this." }]
She did not want to talk about it either…
And it concerned Anna, so…
'This is much worse than I had imagined.'
We needed to go back this very instance.
And, even the headmaster understood that…
