Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer

Chapter 1102: Anna's disappearance

[Eon's POV: ]

"Eon, Eon! Calm down and listen!"

"Listen to what?! Rein, this is serious!"

There was nothing more serious than this.

My injuries, the pain, the wounds, the… nothing was more important right now.

All that mattered to me was this… Anna had gone missing. And, there are many implications of that simple sentence.

'Maybe the ones that attacked us were behind this, maybe there was something else, something might have happened, perhaps there was a kidnapping that the others did not know about… there were a lot of possibilities and NONE were good!'

We needed to get there as fast as possible and flying at this speed was not enough!

'With the headmaster in his weakened state, we had to use other spells to fly all the way to the main archipelago. And even that was not going to be enough.'

There was something that I did not understand yet… Zoe was being awfully serious about this matter, so there was definitely something more to this whole situation.

"Eon! Calm down a little, will you!?"

Rein was in a bad state as well, but she was shouting at me and asking me to calm down… it wasn't something I could do even if I wanted to. There was nothing I could do about how I was behaving right now.

All that mattered to me right now, was my Anna.

"She's fine, alright?! Don't you think Zoe would have come to us or would have connected us much earlier if the situation was serious?!"

"Things were different for us, Rein! We were isolated by a boundary! Not a barrier but a divine boundary! I don't even know if she knows the kind of shit we went through!"

Being aggressive about this whole situation was foolish. I did not want to act like this but there was nothing I could do to calm myself right now.

'After seeing that hell… after being in that darkness for more than a few months… the only thing that appeared before my eyes were bad things.'

I tried thinking logically, I tried applying all the worldly knowledge that I possessed to this situation, but the only thing that I could think about at this moment were things that had happened with Anna… or the illusion that the being in black had created.

'I could not help but think about how Anna would die. I could not help but think about what the people that might have kidnapped her would do to her. I could not stop thinking about things that might happen to my Anna!'

And Rein was simply making things worse for me by shouting at me… it was not supposed to be like this!

"Please! Can't we just stop this for the time being?!"

I shouted at her in a way I had never done ever since we have been together.

"...?!"

It was a shout so intense that the three others with us were stunned by it, and if that wasn't enough, Del even got scared for a moment.

"Hey… calm down man."

She wanted to stop me from shouting at me, from making my own condition worse, but her words of comfort or complaint were not going to reach me right now.

"Leave him."

The headmaster knew about my current state so, he advised them to leave me be.

And, even though Rein did not like how I was behaving… I know just how bad she must have felt after that scream of mine, but I… I don't know anymore.

'I might have gained more powers but there is nothing I could do about the thoughts that I have right now.'

They are not only clouding my head, they are simply not going anywhere even with Lucy's help.

'Since the things that we saw were not mere illusions but scenarios made with divine authority, according to Lucy, they were things that, in a way, had actually happened.'

While I felt I did not have any senses active in that space, all the things that I was seeing, all the things that I was feeling, were actually being injected throughout my physical and mental body.

'The authority that the dark puppet had used was more dangerous than what I had imagined, what any of us had imagined, and… my current behaviour was a good example of its lethal nature.'

If it were anyone else in my position, they would have broken down way earlier and their minds would have been corrupted.

They would then seek nothing but chaos, the Nahility of the world, and the end of everything including nature.

'I somehow survived that authority, but it has deeply affected my entire being.'

Recovering from it will be a difficult task and I know I won't be able to simply get past it with the mind that I have.

'Since they are worse than memories, since they are experiences that I have had with my entire being, it will be difficult to lock them away like many other memories of mine.'

Still, with the new powers that I have gained, and with Lucy's assistance, I should be able to handle this situation.

'It wasn't important right now.'

That was why I did not pay much attention to it myself.

If anything, I needed to go faster…

We needed to go faster.

-SWIIIIIIIIISH…!

We were going at a pretty fast speed, we were travelling faster than the speed of the Harv birds, but that still was not enough.

'We needed to go faster than the supersonic speed.'

At least, that was what we needed, but even I know just how bad the headmaster's condition is right now. Explore hidden tales at My Virtual Library Empire

'He had not released all his restrictions. He simply took off half of it, and even though he should not have done that, he ended up using his Soul Armament in the fight against the blue one.'

It was a bad decision as it put a great pressure on him. And ultimately, things turned out to be bad for him.

He won, surely, but he was momentarily weakened, and he needed at least a little rest to get back to his normal conditions.

"How much longer?!"

"We are almost there, Eon."

There was an endless blue under us, the rays of evening sun were shining down from behind.

The water under us was not gold, but looking back, we would see one of the prettiest sights we might find in this part of the ocean.

The archipelago, and the light from the lighthouse was visible to us now.

The dock and the boats, we could soon see the Heliox castle as well so we hurried.

The spells that we all were using were combined together with the spell that the headmaster was using, and ultimately, the speed we achieved was pretty decent… not enough, but it was fine for now.

"We are here!"

Del breathed a sigh of relief when we landed right before the heliox estate, and the president tried talking with me, but I had already used my movement skill and went inside of the rest of them including Rein followed behind me with their own skills.

"Eon…?"

"Eon!"

"Big brother!"

Everyone was gathered outside of the estate. There was a large commotion happening.

The knights were presents and so were mages.

Mom's expression looked confused instead of grim. Dad was worried but he did not look tense at all.

On the other hand, there was a heated argument going on between all four of the elders.

'What the… hell?'

Grandpa was arguing against Elder Aunt, grandmother was arguing against elder uncle.

The two parties did not seem to be on the same page about something, but that something did not seem to be a normal thing.

'What… happened?'

The knights were trying to maintain security and were trying to prevent anything from happening.

Carla was sitting down on the ground, her hands on her head. Alf, on the other hand, was talking with his mother.

Uncle Theo and Uncle El were not here but I could tell they were inside. Aunt Aug however, was staging at the back, before a certain area that was completely burnt.

'Wait…'

Looking at that area, sensing a certain kind of energy that should not have been here, and feeling the strange increase of Mana levels in the atmosphere around us… a sudden thought crossed my mind.

"No…" It should not have been like this.

I did not want my thoughts to be the reality at this moment. If anything, I wanted this sudden thought of mine to be simply a mistake.

"Big brother…" However, seeing Zoe's sad and uncertain expression, it did not seem like I was wrong at all.

If anything, what was going on right now indicated exactly what I was thinking.

"She awakened…"

And those words, those two simple yet endlessly complex words shattered something profound within me.

"It seems something happened after that. She vanished right when she was awakening, and…"

I could not see Miss Nerissa anywhere, but just like my uncle, I could feel her presence inside.

"I think she somehow went to the great forest."

Looking at Zoe's expression of uncertainty, I could tell she was also confused about this whole situation.

She knew about Mr. Rice and the safety measures I had taken for this very day, but, I did not want today to be that day.

'Not when we have just gone through something so… something so…'

So…

'I can't even simply call it horrible.'

Doing something that should not have been possible, facing and defeating divinities, awakening my Stigma and learning about my master's past… it had been an eventful day already, so I did not want anything else.

All I wanted was some good rest with my family, with my Anna, however…

-Thud.

It looks like that will be impossible now.
