Kakashi Masters All Elements, Rewrites the Ninja World for Rin!

Chapter 43: Chapter 43: Mission to Roran

Let's go back five days.

Minato, who had just finished breakfast, was heading to the training ground as scheduled when an Anbu suddenly appeared in front of him.

"Minato-sama, the Hokage requests your presence for an urgent mission."

The Anbu ninja, directly under the Third Hokage, said respectfully.

Those who had followed Hiruzen Sarutobi for years knew well—though Minato was young, his battlefield accomplishments and the faith the Hokage placed in him meant his position was likely second only to the Council of Elders.

"Thanks for letting me know. I'll be right there."

Minato gave a gentle smile, then disappeared in a flash.

The Anbu was left standing alone in the breeze.

So fast…

Hokage's Office.

"Hokage-sama, you summoned me urgently—has something happened?"

Using the Flying Thunder God mark near the guardroom of the Hokage building, Minato arrived before the Third Hokage in under a minute.

Sarutobi was smoking his pipe as he reviewed a report, nodding as Minato appeared.

"Last night, the intel division stationed in Sunagakure sent us something interesting."

He handed Minato the scroll on his desk.

Minato took it and read carefully.

Since Konoha and the Sand Village formed an alliance, an embassy had been set up in Sunagakure. The two sides exchanged information regularly.

The scroll described an ancient land located in the desert, close to the Land of Wind—Roran, home to the mysterious underground Dragon Vein.

"According to the report, the Queen of Roran passed away a few months ago."

"Since then, Roran has shut off all communication with the outside world."

Sarutobi's tone deepened.

Minato nodded. He understood what this meant.

He had some knowledge of Roran. Though not affiliated with the Five Great Nations, it had long remained at peace and avoided conflicts in the ninja world.

If it was merely about the queen's passing, Sarutobi might not have acted. But the involvement of Dragon Veins changed everything.

These veins were vast energy sources flowing beneath Roran—dangerous in the wrong hands.

The power had been passed down through the royal family, used to protect its citizens. This hidden kingdom had survived through the centuries thanks to this energy.

But if that power fell into the hands of someone with ill intent...

"Who is this Anrokuzan?"

Minato asked, brows furrowed.

The report stated that this man had appeared from nowhere six years ago and quickly became a trusted official of the late Queen.

In half a year, he had climbed to a position second only to royalty.

"We don't know the details—Roran has completely cut off the outside world."

Sarutobi frowned slightly at the name.

"But my instincts tell me… this Anrokuzan may be behind the Queen's death."

A veteran like Hiruzen didn't ignore intuition. Something didn't feel right.

"I want you to investigate Roran along with Akimichi Chōza and Aburame Shibi."

That was the reason for the sudden summons.

"I understand, Lord Hokage," Minato replied. "But I'd like to recommend adding one more member to the mission."

"Oh?" Hiruzen raised an eyebrow.

"My student—Hatake Kakashi."

"Very well."

Sarutobi nodded after a moment of thought.

Given Kakashi's performance against the Raikage, he was more than worthy of further cultivation.

"If we discover anyone attempting to use the Dragon Vein to disrupt the peace, you have permission to eliminate them on the spot."

"Yes, Hokage-sama!"

Elsewhere, Kakashi was calmly waiting at the Konoha training grounds.

It had been three months since he began developing a technique that combined the Chidori and Rasengan.

Due to Minato's constant missions, Kakashi rarely had his teacher around to assist, and the complexity of developing a new technique made solo progress slow and painful.

Also—dangerous.

And so, out of a mixture of obedience and fear of blowing himself into next Tuesday, Kakashi had promised Minato he wouldn't test the final version without supervision.

Unfortunately, the process wasn't getting any easier.

In the original case, Naruto had merely combined the Wind nature into Rasengan—and he nearly lost the use of his hand doing so.

Wind, with its swirling and slicing nature, was a natural fit for Rasengan.

Lightning? Not so much.

Trying to make "stabby zap" blend with "whirly orb of doom" was proving... problematic.

Still, if he could get it stable, there was a silver lining.

Kakashi had once copied two Magnet Release kekkei genkai—one from Rasa, and another from a now-deceased Cloud shinobi. If he could get this working, maybe—just maybe—he could create an Electromagnetic Cannon.

Just saying it out loud made it sound worth the effort.

But for now, he was stuck trying to tame lightning with his bare hands and a prayer.

Man, it would be nice to just "borrow" Naruto's Wind Style: Rasenshuriken. Copy-paste, done. Call it a day.

He let out a quiet sigh.

Even with Lightning Style being trickier, Naruto's technique was a solid reference point.

But alas—he was stuck doing this the old-fashioned way. With blood, sweat, and sarcasm.

"Morning, Minato-sensei."

Kakashi looked up to see Minato appear before him in a yellow flash.

After the Raikage battle, Minato had gifted Kakashi one of his custom Flying Thunder God kunai. Having a direct line to your teacher definitely had perks.

"Morning, Kakashi."

Minato gave his signature soft smile.

"I've received an order from Lord Hokage. We're headed on an S-rank mission to Roran. We leave immediately."

He didn't bother telling Kakashi to pack.

Anyone who'd fought in a war with Kakashi knew—he was the type who carried half a storehouse worth of supplies in sealing scrolls, ready to hike, fight, or build a house on demand.

"Understood," Kakashi nodded. His tone calm. His inner thoughts... less so.

Roran, huh? Strange buildings, time-traveling dragon juice under the ground...

You know. Totally normal.

And more importantly… chakra. Lots and lots of chakra.

Maybe if he could get a sample or two of the Dragon Vein's power, he could solve one of his greatest problems:

Running out of chakra faster than a cell phone on 1%.

Even without the Sharingan draining his reserves like a leaky faucet, and despite now having the Hundred Healings Seal (thank you Rin's persistent training), he still felt limited.

All the cool techniques he had in his arsenal—Forbidden Jutsu, elemental fusions, high-level combos—were all just shinobi cosplay if he didn't have the chakra to pull them off.

More chakra meant bigger booms.

Just look at Madara—he turned a B-rank Great Fireball into a village barbecue.

The Third Raikage? Same thing. Took a B-rank Hell Stab and turned it into tailed beast sushi.

Kakashi?

"Four Chidoris a day," he muttered internally, "and that's only if I skip lunch."

Yeah. He needed that dragon juice.

Badly.

And with Minato leading the mission, things were about to get interesting.

Really interesting.
