Chapter 50: Chapter 50: Anrokuzan’s Power Surges!
"Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
Eager to impress both his younger father and younger teacher, Naruto took the initiative.
Using his clones' help, he quickly formed a small, spinning ball of blue chakra in his right hand.
"Rasengan!"
Naruto leapt into the air, soaring over Anrokuzan's head, and smashed the Rasengan down hard!
Zzz~BOOM!
The compact ball—smaller than even one of Anrokuzan's massive eyes—unleashed a devastating spiraling force on impact!
The oversized puppet body was slammed straight into the thick wall.
"Hey! Did you see that, Dad, Kakashi-sensei?"
"I'm totally strong now!"
Naruto pointed confidently at the fallen puppet, spinning around to beam at Minato and the others.
"Don't let your guard down, Naruto," Minato warned, eyes locked on the collapsed puppet. "This guy's not ordinary."
Screeeeech—BANG!
The massive puppet, seemingly unconscious, suddenly writhed.
Its twisted limbs groaned as it yanked itself free from the cratered wall.
"Heh… Did you think it'd be that easy?" came a low, eerie voice.
The puppet—half human face, half spider—twisted its neck in a sickening, unnatural angle.
At the same time, countless chakra threads burst from its body, extending in every direction.
They latched onto the broken mech that once restrained Kakashi, as well as debris scattered throughout the battlefield.
With an awful screech, the pieces merged into a monstrous spider—over fifty meters long.
"Choza!"
Minato called sharply.
"On it!"
"Partial Expansion Jutsu!"
Akamichi Choza hurled his enormous arm forward, driving a giant fist straight into the monstrous spider puppet.
BOOM!
Once again, Anrokuzan was embedded into the wall.
"Shibi!"
"No need to yell." Shibi adjusted his glasses calmly.
"Ninjutsu: Bug Ball."
A sea of black insects burst from his sleeves. He pressed his hands together, and the insects swarmed forward, an unstoppable tide.
In seconds, they engulfed the spider's massive body.
"NANI?!"
Anrokuzan's panic broke through his usual cold demeanor.
His vision darkened, his chakra drained rapidly by the consuming horde of bugs.
"AHHHH!"
He screamed and collapsed again, the bulk of his puppet frame crashing through the ground and into the level below.
"Did we get him this time?" Naruto asked, peering over the edge alongside the others.
But as the dust settled… snap!
Chakra threads blasted out again.
Same setup. Same eerie glow. Same bad feeling.
"…Seriously?"
Even Naruto couldn't hide his disbelief.
"This guy's got more comebacks than Sasuke in a family argument."
"Let me show you the power of the ultimate puppet weapon I created!" Anrokuzan's chilling voice rose once more—this time with a weight of menace.
SSSSSSSHHHHH!
Steam billowed from the crater like a volcanic vent.
BOOM!
A hulking, 100-meter-tall puppet—shaped like a monstrous scorpion—exploded from the ground and slammed into the surface!
Meanwhile, Sara, having successfully unchained the captives, was guiding them back to ground level.
"Sara!"
Spotting the queen, Anrokuzan ignored the ninja and charged at her with terrifying speed.
"AAAAAHHH!"
"What kind of monster is that?!"
"We're gonna die—we're all gonna die!"
Just as the civilians tasted freedom, they were plunged into terror again by the grotesque machine towering over them.
Some collapsed in panic, others froze. The bravest among them?
...Wet themselves.
"Everyone, please—pull yourselves together!"
Sara shouted above the rising cries of fear.
"It's no use," muttered a man with a broken collar around his neck, approaching her with a defeated look. "There's no way out now."
"If we'd just stayed in the factory, maybe we'd still be alive!"
"No, we still have hope!"
"Look behind you! The Konoha shinobi are still fighting!"
Sara's voice rang out, echoing with something new—conviction.
She finally understood Kakashi's frustration—how it felt to risk everything for people too afraid to resist.
"But how can they possibly beat that... thing?"
"Yeah! We'll die no matter what!"
"I say we go back to the factory. Maybe Lord Anrokuzan will spare us if we apologize..."
"We could send Queen Sara to negotiate?"
"ENOUGH!"
Masako burst through the crowd, her children and a few brave women behind her—each clutching makeshift weapons.
"Listen to yourselves—do you even hear the garbage coming out of your mouths?"
"Queen Sara risked everything to save you, and this is how you repay her?"
"Are you even human anymore?!"
Her words hit like kunai to the heart. Guilt filled the eyes of many.
Even the most cowardly among them began to fidget, ashamed.
Unlike other lands, Roran had seen peace for generations. Its people were not warriors—they'd never known war.
But Masako's anger cut through that peace like a kunai through silk.
"Brothers!"
A new voice rang out. A young man stepped forward—the same one who had helped Sara unchain the prisoners.
"We're men, aren't we?! Are we gonna let our wives and kids fight while we hide behind excuses?!"
"If you've got anything hanging between your legs—stand up!"
The silence broke. People rose. Fear didn't vanish, but pride replaced it.
They would fight.
Sara's eyes glistened as she stepped forward once again.
"My people!"
"My fellow countrymen!"
"Follow me—we'll take shelter in the central square!"
"YES!"
