Leviathan's Stomach

Jintsuu felt a tremor ripple through their surroundings.

Shigure: "…It's shaking?"

Miyuki: "…Is it gonna sneeze or something?"

Murakumo: "Enough with the Pinocchio talk!"

Hatsuyuki: "Murakumo, too loud… They'll notice us."

Jintsuu: "Let's stay ready to move."

Dante charged alone toward the Abyssal fleet, dodging their barrages while closing in. He slashed a battleship with Rebellion, fending off approaching light and heavy cruisers with shots from Ebony & Ivory. A shotgun blast took off the battleship's head. Abyssal carrier planes swarmed him, but Dante strummed Nevan, unleashing bats to shred them. Amid the chaos, Blood-Goyles joined the fray.

Dante: "Running out of hands here!"

The shipgirls fought demons and Abyssals, but Leviathan kept steaming toward Japan. Even if they reached the defense line and joined forces, the situation looked grim. If Leviathan hit Japan, demons pouring from it would wreak havoc on humans. Time was running out.

Dante activated his Doppelganger ability, Afterimage, creating a shadowy clone. Transforming into his Devil Trigger form, the two Dantes split up, mowing down Abyssals and Blood-Goyles.

Dante: "Is that thing spitting out planes?"

He spotted an Abyssal Carrier Wo-Class launching planes from a purse-like headpiece.

Dante: "Get that annoying head out of here!"

Weaving through a bullet curtain, Dante closed in and smashed the carrier's head with Beowulf, destroying its planes and triggering an explosion. His magic drained, the Doppelganger vanished, and Dante reverted to human form.

Dante: "Mimic's exhausting… Still more?"

He charged the remaining Abyssals.

Tenryuu: "Abyssal attacks are slowing down!"

Kongou: "Thanks to the Admiral, dess!"

Akagi: "But the demons are still…"

Kaga: "We're losing ground unless we stop that Leviathan…"

Blood-Goyles kept spawning endlessly from Leviathan. It had to be stopped, or the demons would overwhelm them.

Houshou: "How's the submarine situation?"

Naka: "Almost done!"

Destroyers and light cruisers dropped depth charges, sinking submarines.

Satsuki: "Torpedoes!"

Torpedoes closed in on the fleet.

Inazuma: "Houshou-san!"

A torpedo nearly hit Houshou, too close to dodge. Kongou jumped in, shielding her.

Houshou: "Kongou-san!?"

Kongou: "No worries, dess! Battleship armor's not just for show!"

Dante, firing Ebony & Ivory at Blood-Goyles, returned to the fleet.

Dante: "How's it going?"

Akagi: "Some took hits, but only minor damage. The demon numbers aren't dropping."

Dante eyed Leviathan.

Dante: "Gotta stop that thing."

Fumizuki: "How?"

Dante: "Go inside it."

Houshou: "What are you saying!? That's too dangerous—I won't allow it!"

Kaga: "Just because you escaped once doesn't mean you can again."

Houshou: "Escaped once?"

Houshou frowned at Kaga's words.

Dante: "Got a better plan? I'm all ears."

The shipgirls fell silent, stumped for ideas. A radio crackled.

Yamato: "This is Combined Fleet flagship Yamato. Is everyone safe?"

Akagi: "Yamato-san?"

Yamato: "We've sighted the enemy and are joining the fight."

They'd reached the defense line—time was up.

Dante: "No time to waste. I'm going in."

Houshou: "Wait!"

Dante equipped Nevan and activated Devil Trigger. In his demonic form, he flew toward Leviathan's mouth, blasting Blood-Goyles with Thunderbolt. He dove inside.

Tenryuu: "Holy crap, he transformed…"

Tatsuta: "And flew, too~"

Kisaragi: "He shot lightning from his hands…"

Fumizuki: "Our commander's amazing, isn't he?"

Inazuma: "He is, nanodesu…"

Akagi: "That's the Admiral's demonic form…"

The shipgirls had seen Dante and Vergil's Devil Trigger in a dream, but witnessing it live shocked them.

Haguro: "This isn't the time for gawking!"

The Combined Fleet joined, and the shipgirls resumed fighting demons.

Leviathan's Stomach

Dante landed inside Leviathan and deactivated Devil Trigger.

Dante: "Still smells awful."

Jintsuu: "Admiral?"

Dante: "You guys are here?"

Jintsuu: "Why are you here?"

Dante: "Came in through the mouth."

Hatsuyuki: "The… mouth?"

Miyuki: "Not eaten?"

Dante: "Jumped in on purpose."

Murakumo: "What's wrong with you!? Jumping in to get eaten!?"

Dante: "Harsh words. Saved me the trouble of finding you, though. Who's the new girl?"

Shigure: "Nice to meet you, I'm—"

Murakumo: "This is Shigure. Why'd you jump in?"

Poor Shigure, cut off mid-introduction.

Dante: "Got a plan."

Dante started walking. He spotted a strange spherical object sprouting from the ground(?). Slicing it with Rebellion, a bone blocking an entrance below retracted.

Dante: "Gotta smash all these."

Miyuki: "Then we're out?"

Dante: "First step to getting out. Let's go down."

Hatsuyuki: "How?"

Dante: "Jump, obviously."

Jintsuu: "Wait. Jumping from this height… There are demons below."

Normally, a fall like that could break bones. The shipgirls, geared for anti-submarine warfare, lacked main guns and couldn't fight demons effectively.

Dante: "You're shipgirls, tougher than humans, right?"

Murakumo: "What do you think we are?"

Murakumo fumed, but Dante didn't notice.

Dante: "Loud, disobedient, troublesome—"

WHAM! Murakumo punched Dante's stomach.

Murakumo: "You're the one who never listens!"

Miyuki: "Whoa, no punching!"

Hatsuyuki: "Violence is bad…"

Miyuki restrained Murakumo, while Hatsuyuki rubbed Dante's stomach. Dante was unfazed. Shigure and Jintsuu watched, chatting.

Shigure: "Must be a fun naval base."

Jintsuu: "Sorry for the embarrassing display."

Dante: "Hold on."

Dante jumped down alone, clearing out demons, then vanished somewhere.

Hatsuyuki: "…He's gone."

Dante hunted down and destroyed all the spherical objects.

Hatsuyuki: "…He's back."

Dante: "Jump one at a time. I'll catch you."

Murakumo: "No way!"

Dante: "I said I'll catch you."

Murakumo: "That's… um…"

Dante: "What?"

Murakumo: "My… panties might show!"

Dante: "…"

All wore short skirts—once ships, now women with modesty. Dante gave them a cold look.

Dante: "You know we're inside a demon's gut, right? Just jump. I don't care about kids' panties."

Murakumo: "I'm gonna deck you…"

Dante: "Looking forward to it."

Miyuki: "I'll go first!"

Miyuki jumped, and Dante caught her. No one else followed.

Dante: "Don't make this harder."

Dante activated Devil Trigger, flew up, grabbed the shipgirls under his arms and on his back, and landed below, deactivating immediately. Jintsuu and Shigure, seeing his demonic form for the first time, were stunned. Jintsuu, told Dante was half-demon, had been skeptical.

Jintsuu: "Admiral, that form…"

Dante: "First time showing you. That's my demonic side."

Hatsuyuki, Miyuki, and Murakumo, who'd seen it in the dream, were less shocked, even accepting.

Hatsuyuki: "Commander, say 'Transform!' next time."

Hatsuyuki grinned mischievously.

Dante: "Why?"

Hatsuyuki: "…For the vibe."

Dante: "What's that mean? No time, let's move."

Dante explained the outside situation as they walked.

Jintsuu: "So everyone's…"

Dante: "Why I said to hurry."

Murakumo: "Say that first!"

Dante's patience snapped.

Dante: "Everything's my fault, huh? Outside, the fleet's fighting endless demons. We're in this thing's gut. I can't take it down while babysitting you. You're dead weight! Want out? Shut up and follow me!"

Dante stormed ahead. He rarely got mad, usually laughing off their antics. Being scolded by someone so laid-back left an awkward silence.

Shigure: "Let's follow him. He seems to know the way out."

Shigure spoke brightly to lighten the mood.

Jintsuu: "Let's go, Murakumo-san."

Murakumo: "…Right."

Outside

The demon battle raged on. Even with other naval bases' shipgirls joining, nothing changed. Yamato heard Dante had gone out but couldn't see him.

Yamato: "Where's Dante-san!?"

Kaga: "Inside that Leviathan!"

Kaga launched planes while answering.

Yamato: "He was eaten!?"

Kaga: "He went in on purpose!"

Yamato: "What!?"

Leviathan's Intestine

Dante's team navigated around acid pools in silence.

Miyuki: "Hey, isn't that like the stuff in the factory?"

They spotted a Time God Statue.

Dante: "Need insurance."

Dante offered a Red Orb for Holy Water. Slicing a membrane blocking their path, they reached a chamber with a writhing organ protected by a giant membrane.

Jintsuu: "This is…"

Dante: "The demon's heart."

Miyuki: "Smash it, and we're out?"

Dante: "Not yet. The membrane's in the way."

Hatsuyuki: "…What now?"

Dante: "Keep moving."

They pressed on into another intestine.

Dante: "Run!"

They sprinted as a centipede-like demon, Gigapede, chased them with gaping jaws.

Miyuki: "No way! No way! No way!"

Hatsuyuki: "Impossible! Impossible! Impossible!"

Jintsuu: "Kyaaa!"

A membrane appeared ahead. Dante slashed it, creating an exit too small for Gigapede, which thrashed at the opening.

Hatsuyuki: "…I can't… I wanna go home." collapses

Dante: "No time to rest."

They pushed on, encountering Hell Envy, one of the Seven Hells. Dante fought through them, the shipgirls following.

Outside

Tenryuu: "Where's the Admiral!?"

Fumizuki: "I'm exhausted~!"

Satsuki: "Can't hold on!"

Yamato: "Type-3 shells, ready! Fire!"

Explosions chained in the air, scattering Blood-Goyles.

Akagi: "Admiral, hurry…!"

Leviathan's Evil Eye Chamber

The team reached a wider space.

Miyuki: "Hey, I can see outside!"

Jintsuu: "…Is this the demon's eye?"

Dante: "Yup. Everyone, center up."

Shigure: "What's happening?"

Dante: "Showtime."

A swarm of Hell Envies appeared.

Dante: "Those who can fight, form a circle and attack all directions. They'll come from everywhere!"

Shipgirls with main guns deployed their rigging, firing at Hell Envies. Dante dashed around, covering all angles alone.

Murakumo: "Something's coming!"

Murakumo, with only anti-submarine gear, couldn't fight but noticed something. Red Orbs from defeated demons gathered at the center, summoning something.

Dante: "Keep it up!"

The orbs formed the Flame of Envy, a spherical item. Hell Envies stopped spawning. Dante grabbed it, and Leviathan's interior darkened.

Dante: "This'll end it. Stay here. I'll come back for you."

Murakumo: "Wait!"

Dante: "More complaints?"

Murakumo: "No… I'm sorry for mouthing off."

Dante: "…Murakumo."

Expecting a scolding, Murakumo was surprised when Dante handed her the Holy Water.

Dante: "Use this if demons show up. It's the only one."

Murakumo: "What's this?"

Dante: "Hatsuyuki knows. Ask her."

Dante headed through a different entrance.

Murakumo: "What's this?"

Hatsuyuki: "It's got holy water, good against demons."

Miyuki: "Why the smug face?"

Jintsuu: "He's not mad anymore. He trusted you with our only insurance."

Murakumo: "…Yeah!"

Shigure smiled warmly at Murakumo.

Leviathan's Intestine

Dante was chased by Gigapede.

Dante: "Such a pain!"

He reached the stomach again, ignoring wandering Hell Envies to head for the heart. Using the Flame of Envy, he dissolved the heart's membrane. The heart, lungs, and Hell Envies attacked. Dante activated Devil Trigger.

Dante: "I'll end this quick!"

Minutes Later, Leviathan's Evil Eye Chamber

Jintsuu's team was overwhelmed by Hell Envies. Their main guns weren't enough.

Miyuki: "We're done! Murakumo, use it!"

Murakumo: "How!?"

Hatsuyuki: "…Dunno."

Jintsuu: "Hurry!"

Miyuki: "Throw it!"

Murakumo: "Take this!"

Murakumo hurled the Holy Water. It shattered, scattering light that obliterated the Hell Envies—just as Dante destroyed Leviathan's heart.

Leviathan roared and crashed into the sea. Blood-Goyles stopped spawning. The exhausted, ammo-depleted shipgirls cautiously approached the floating Leviathan. Its eyeball twitched unnaturally. Shipgirls with ammo readied their guns. The eye split vertically, spewing blood rain as Dante and the others burst out.

Dante: "Phew, not bad."

Jintsuu & Shigure: "…"

Miyuki: "That squishy eye…"

Murakumo: "What was that feeling…?"

Hatsuyuki: "A lifelong trauma…"

Blood-soaked, Dante was unfazed, but Jintsuu's team looked dead-eyed. The watching shipgirls were horrified—nobody expected people to burst from an eyeball. Some looked ready to puke.

Naka: "Jintsuu-chan!"

Jintsuu: "…Naka-chan!"

Naka rushed to hug Jintsuu but stopped short, backing off.

Naka: "…You smell like blood."

Jintsuu's eyes died again.

Dante: "You guys okay?"

Kaga: "Barely. Stay back."

Dante: "What, no hug to celebrate?"

Dante grinned mischievously, arms wide, inching toward Kaga.

Kaga: "I said stay away!"

Kaga fled.

Dante: "Akagi, hug time."

Akagi: "Uh!? I'm… tired, so I'll pass!"

Akagi bolted.

Dante: "Houshou."

Houshou: "Stay away."

Houshou refused with a bright smile.

Dante: "Inazuma!"

Inazuma: "Eek!? Um, uh… Inazuma hears nothing, nanodesu!"

Inazuma covered her ears and ran.

Dante: "Tenryuu, Tatsuta."

Tatsuta: "Want to die~?"

Tenryuu: "Idiot! We can't beat the Admiral! Run!"

Tatsuta: "Wait, Tenryuu-chan~"

Dante eyed Kongou and Haguro.

Kongou: "Oh, tea time, dess! Gotta go…"

Haguro: "S-Sorry!!"

Tenryuu, Tatsuta, Kongou, and Haguro fled.

Dante: "Yamato's here too…"

Yamato: "I-I'm busy, excuse me!"

Dante: "Naka."

Naka: "Naka-chan's everyone's idol, so no hugs!"

Yamato and Naka made excuses and ran.

Dante: "C'mon, hug it out."

Satsuki: "Huh!? Wait—ow!"

Fumizuki: "Don't push, Satsuki-chan~!"

Kisaragi: "Nooo!!"

Squelch…

Kisaragi: "Why just me…? My hair's ruined…"

Kisaragi, hugged by Dante, joined the blood-soaked crew. Other naval base shipgirls watched the farce in silence.

The shipgirls returned to their bases. Dante's fleet sailed back, kept at a distance. Jintsuu's team was silent.

Dante: "What's up? Outcasts like us should have fun heading home."

Jintsuu: "…I can't anymore."

Miyuki: "Squishy…"

Hatsuyuki: "Eye, eyeball, eyeballs…"

Murakumo: "Hatsuyuki, say more, and I'll hit you…"

Kisaragi: "Why just me…"

Shigure: "Hey, Admiral."

Dante: "Oh? You'll hang with me?"

Shigure: "Sure, but I didn't properly introduce myself. I'm Shigure, Shiratsuyu-class destroyer. Nice to meet you."

Dante: "Yeah, nice to meet ya… I need a shower."

Shigure: "Yup."

Back at the base, the remaining shipgirls greeted them, but Suzuya's "Ugh, gross!" upon seeing the bloodied crew crushed Jintsuu's team's spirits.
