Chapter 47: Chapter 47 : A New Use

Immediately afterward, Anduin took out his wand and cast seven or eight Scourgify charms inside the house, followed by an Aguamenti to thoroughly rinse the room, leaving no corner untouched, including the walls and ceiling.

After draining the water used to wash the room through the window, he cast several drying charms inside. Only after being busy for quite some time did Anduin feel slightly satisfied with the result.

At that moment, Sirius's voice came from downstairs: "Hey, I have to step out for a bit. I need to meet up with some friends. Stay put, and I'll bring dinner back later. If you get really hungry, there are some Muggle restaurants nearby. There's an Italian place with pretty good pizza. Be careful and don't let any nearby Muggles see you casting spells."

After speaking, Sirius disappeared with a crack, Apparating away.

'Meeting up with some friends? He's probably going to a meeting of the Order of the Phoenix', Anduin thought. He didn't dwell on it further and continued cleaning the room. After a while, the atmosphere inside finally met Anduin's standards.

He went downstairs and frowned again at the unhygienic state of the house. He also noticed that Sirius had quite a few Muggle appliances, including a refrigerator, a radio, and electric lights. There was even an oven, probably a built-in feature of the house, but sadly, no TV to watch.

After wandering around the living room on the first floor, Anduin couldn't stand the mess any longer. He rolled up his sleeves, ready to clean the entire house thoroughly.

"How can you guarantee fighting spirit if you can't even handle house chores properly?" Anduin muttered about Sirius before getting to work.

First, he went to the kitchen, turned on the faucet, and waved his wand. The pots, plates, and pans in the sink lined up neatly in the air like soldiers. One by one, they passed under the faucet and, under Anduin's command, were rinsed until clean. Then, they moved aside to be wiped down with a cloth. After being cleaned, they were washed again, repeating the process three times before receiving a final Scourgify charm.

At the same time, Anduin used Aguamenti to rinse every corner of the kitchen while casting cleaning charms to remove stubborn stains. After working for a good while, the kitchen finally looked clean and tidy.

Then, Anduin moved to the living room and repeatedly used cleaning charms and Aguamenti on the sofa, which was covered in grease and stains, but the effect wasn't noticeable. The dirt seemed to have fused with the fabric of the sofa.

"So stubborn?" Seeing this, Anduin couldn't help but stroke his chin, lost in thought. Suddenly, a good idea occurred to him.

He pointed his wand at the sofa again, but this time he didn't use a cleaning charm. Instead, he used the Extraction Charm he had learned at Hogwarts, employing unique casting techniques. Under the spell's effect, the stubborn stains on the sofa were extracted piece by piece.

I never thought that after learning this spell, I would first apply it to cleaning, Anduin thought with a wry smile. Moreover, the spell's effect was amazing. After extracting the stains with the Extraction Charm, the sofa looked as good as new.

Suddenly discovering a new use for the Extraction Charm, Anduin repeated the trick, applying it successively to the carpets, tables, and floors on the first floor. This was even faster than using cleaning charms. Before long, Anduin had cleaned every corner of the entire first floor and rearranged the furniture so it was no longer crooked.

Afterward, he also emptied Sirius's refrigerator, throwing away all the moldy, unidentifiable items inside. He even ran to the nearby Muggle supermarket to restock with a batch of food.

"Mission accomplished," Anduin said, looking at the refreshed living room. His mood brightened as well.

In the evening, around eight o'clock, the Muggle streets outside were empty of pedestrians. Every house was brightly lit, and some were already decorated for Christmas. Sirius, carrying a pizza box, walked leisurely toward his home.

Sirius slammed the door open and was about to enter as usual when suddenly he looked startled. He stepped back outside and looked around, muttering,

"Okay, the outside of the house is mine. Why don't I recognize the inside?"

As if wanting to confirm, he went back inside. All the furniture, carpets, and curtains in the room looked brand new. The air was filled with a sweet aroma, and the lights seemed brighter. But that wasn't the main thing. Why was there a Christmas tree standing next to the fireplace in the living room?

The tree was decorated with many small pendants depicting lions, snakes, eagles, and badgers. At the top of the tree shone a golden five-pointed star. Sirius called out uncertainly,

"Anduin?"

A young man came out of the kitchen, with dark eyes and black hair barely reaching his ears, casually spread out. He was wearing an apron and holding a large plate of roasted lamb chops. It was Anduin, who placed the lamb chops on the clean, tidy dining table with an expressionless face, saying to Sirius as if nothing had happened,

"Oh, you're back. I have good news for you. Your oven still works, and it's pretty good."

Only then did Sirius dare to fully confirm that this was his home. He held his head in his hands, looking at Anduin with disbelief, and said,

"You . . . what did you do to my house? I've only been gone a few hours. How did it end up like this? And what the hell is that Christmas tree?"

Anduin looked at Sirius with a slightly puzzled expression. Wasn't it a good thing that his house was cleaner? But he still replied,

"It's nothing. I saw your house was a bit dirty, so I casually cleaned it up for you. As for the tree, I saw a man selling them when I went shopping at a nearby supermarket. I thought you didn't have any Christmas atmosphere, so I bought one. The decorations I made with Transfiguration. What do you think? Not bad, right?"

Sirius still seemed to be living in a dream, speechless.

"You call this casually cleaning it up? You've clearly redecorated my house!".

"So, are you going to eat or not?" Anduin asked, taking off his apron and sitting down at the table.

"Eat!". It was the only thing Sirius could say firmly upon seeing the situation.

"Good, good, delicious, but I still have to ask, how did you do this?" Sirius asked, stuffing large mouthfuls of lamb into his mouth.

"It's very simple. Grind pistachios into nut crumbs, fry the lamb chops until golden with butter and rosemary, coat them in the nut crumbs, then put them in the oven. I baked them medium-well. If you want them rarer . . . ".
