Chapter 49: Chapter 49 : The Gathering
Sirius Black turned to Anduin to confirm, "Is it okay, Anduin?"
Anduin had no problem at all and was quite eager to see the so-called Order of the Phoenix, so he nodded and said, "No problem".
Dumbledore in the flames also nodded and said, "Yes, a very straightforward young man. This makes me even more certain of the authenticity of the information. Thank you, Anduin".
Anduin replied calmly, "You flatter me, Professor. I'm just trying to protect myself; after all, I'm a Muggle-born wizard, or at least I think I am".
"A humble young man. Then it's settled. I'll notify you in advance tomorrow. The location remains the same." After Dumbledore finished speaking, he disappeared into the flames.
"Alright, Anduin, get some rest early. I'll take you there myself tomorrow." Sirius Black stretched and laughed.
"Okay." At that moment, Anduin wasn't thinking about the Order of the Phoenix or the Death Eaters, but about the communication magic Sirius Black had just used. It seemed very convenient, and he wondered if it had any limitations.
But now wasn't the time. He planned to find time to learn it from Sirius Black.
The next day, Sirius Black hadn't slept well. Anduin, respecting privacy, hadn't cleaned Sirius Black's room, so when Sirius Black returned, his usually comfortable bedroom seemed dirty and smelly to him. As the saying goes, there's no harm without comparison. After getting used to the atmosphere and air in the living room, Sirius Black couldn't get used to his broken bedroom.
Sirius Black walked downstairs, rubbing his stiff neck. As he came down, he smelled a strong fragrance. The dining table was already full of a hearty breakfast, but Sirius Black looked around and didn't see Anduin. He opened the back door and saw Anduin practicing boxing in the small courtyard behind the door. Anduin was jumping up and down, and the wind from his fists made a "whoosh" sound in the air. Sirius Black had never seen anyone with such good skills and couldn't help but stare blankly for a moment.
After a while, Anduin finished a series of Tongbei-style punches, stood still, retracted his power, exhaled, and after calming his breath, noticed Sirius Black yawning behind him and asked, "Waking up so late? Aren't you hungry? And you still have time to be standing here?"
"I usually don't eat breakfast. By the way, Anduin, what kind of dance were you doing just now? It looked absolutely cool," Sirius Black said, yawning with tears in his eyes.
Anduin was too lazy to explain and casually replied, "Don't worry about what kind of dance it is. Just think of it as exercise. By the way, are you going to eat breakfast or not? If not, I'll clean it up."
As soon as Sirius Black heard this, he quickly said, "I'll eat, I'll eat, why wouldn't I? I usually don't eat because no one makes it."
Anduin rolled his eyes. This guy was really lazy.
Later, near noon, Sirius Black received a signal from Dumbledore through the fireplace.
At that moment, Anduin had already changed his clothes. Seeing this, Sirius Black didn't waste any time and directly grabbed Anduin to Apparate out of the cottage.
The two appeared in a dilapidated alley. Sirius Black looked around to make sure no one saw them, then led Anduin to a broken wooden door in the alley. He took out his wand, held it against the door, and murmured a few words. A phoenix pattern flashed on the door, and it opened in response.
Sirius Black led Anduin through the door, across a backyard, into a room, and then opened another wooden door. Descending the stairs behind that door, they arrived at a basement.
Anduin observed the surroundings. The building was made of bricks and wood and looked a bit old. In the center of the basement was a large wooden table with many old wooden chairs. Nearby were shelves and wooden barrels filled with supplies. It didn't look like a secret base, but rather a spare storage room for an ordinary run-down restaurant.
Several people had already arrived in the basement. In the very center was Dumbledore, and next to him was Mad-Eye Moody, the Auror Anduin had seen before. Next to Moody was a witch who looked less than thirty years old and had an elegant demeanor.
On the other side were also two wizards. One was a middle-aged man with a beard, a broad chin, and a slightly plump figure, who looked very dignified. The other was a strong middle-aged wizard with short, reddish-brown hair and no beard, with a kind expression, who looked like a friendly uncle.
When Dumbledore saw Sirius Black bringing Anduin in, he smiled slightly and said, "Good afternoon, Sirius Black, Anduin. It seems everyone has arrived. Let's sit down and talk."
Everyone has arrived? Anduin was stunned. Including Sirius Black, there were only six people present. He thought it would be a large gathering. But he still obediently sat down next to Sirius Black.
Sirius Black took Anduin to a seat and kindly introduced everyone: "Anduin, you've met Moody. Next to him is Emmeline Vance. Next to Dumbledore is Edgar Bones, and next to him is Gideon Prewett. Everyone, this is Anduin."
Anduin nodded to greet everyone, and those present also nodded back at him.
"Ha, I knew you were a bold kid. I didn't expect you to be involved with the Death Eaters already. Are young people today not afraid of death?" Mad-Eye Moody was seeing Anduin for the second time. The last time, he and Sirius Black had fought the Death Eaters, and now, just a few months later, he was seeing him again. He couldn't help but find it funny.
Anduin could only reply resignedly, "It's precisely because I fear death that I can't blindly run away. In this tense situation, the more you want to escape, the more likely you are to become a victim. That behavior of covering your eyes and thinking everything will be fine is the most irresponsible thing for your own safety, isn't it?"
Upon hearing Anduin's words, those present couldn't help but look at the young wizard with new respect.
Dumbledore nodded approvingly and said, "See, Moody? I didn't expect young people today to be smarter than many adult wizards."
The other members of the Order of the Phoenix nodded in agreement.
"Then let's get back to the topic. Can you explain the information you received to everyone again?" Moody also restrained his expression and asked Anduin.
Then Anduin repeated the content he had told Sirius Black the day before.
Dumbledore and the others listened silently to Anduin's words. When he finished, he asked thoughtfully, "Then, Anduin, what is your opinion on this matter?"
