Chapter 77: Chapter 77: How Much Is Conscience Worth?

Peter lowered his gaze, and when he saw it clearly, he heaved a long sigh of relief. "That's good… that's really good."

He had been genuinely startled. For a moment, he thought the workbench had actually been equipped with that kind of item for A Fei.

After recovering from the shock, Peter looked at A Fei with curiosity. Since A Fei didn't have that particular function, why would he want something like that?

In Peter's impression, wasn't A Fei an expert in human feces research? Why had he suddenly abandoned the field of excrement to start looking into this kind of… adult health product?

Peter cleared his throat. "Ahem. I do have that kind of thing in stock. But what do you need it for? As far as I know, your White Zetsu clones don't have that function, right?"

Upon hearing that, A Fei's face lit up with pure joy. So the boss really did have this item!

He explained excitedly, "Boss, today a man came to me and asked if there was something that could help men regain their virility. He said he'd pay a high price for it! So I immediately thought of you…"

After listening to A Fei's explanation, Peter's mouth twitched uncontrollably. How could someone be this clever?!

He wasn't even sure whether this type of blue pill had ever appeared in the original story, but judging by the circumstances, probably not. Regardless, he couldn't help but admire A Fei's sharp business instincts. This guy was sourcing products based on customer demand and flipping them for a profit. A proper middleman!

"No wonder you became the second-in-command of the company," Peter praised sincerely. "You've really got a head for business!"

Peter wasn't the least bit angry about A Fei coming to his shop to earn a profit. The goods in his shop were all clearly labeled with fixed prices, and he didn't adjust prices arbitrarily. If someone wanted to buy in bulk and resell, that was their own right.

On the contrary, he welcomed it. The more A Fei bought, the more he earned. Lately, business had been a little slow, and Peter was worried. But now, with A Fei stepping up to take on the role of a distributor, he might just establish a regular sales pipeline. That would mean steady income flowing into Peter's account daily.

Peter's heart stirred with excitement at the thought. "I didn't expect that I'd become a supplier… Capital really does make money faster!"

"Boss, can you show me the product?" A Fei asked eagerly.

"Of course! Give me a moment." Peter stood up quickly and walked over to a counter. He opened a drawer and took out a small transparent bottle containing several blue pills.

He placed the bottle gently on the table in front of A Fei and smiled. "Boss A Fei, this is the product you're looking for."

A Fei picked up the bottle and examined it curiously. "So this is the stuff that helps men regain their virility?"

"That's right," Peter said confidently. "Just one pill and you'll feel like you're eighteen again. You can party all night without a problem—no side effects whatsoever."

A Fei nodded slowly, a puzzled look on his face. "Got it… I understand… I understand…"

Peter stared at him blankly. "???"

Understand? You don't even have the biological equipment for this. What the hell do you understand?!

Peter's mouth twitched again. "It doesn't matter if you understand or not. Just introduce it to the customer using those exact words."

A Fei looked at Peter with wide eyes. "You really are the boss! You saw right through me—I had no idea what you were talking about. Amazing!"

Peter: "…"

His heart was screaming with frustration. Why do you have to look so shocked all the time? It makes me feel like the idiot here…

"Boss, how much does this pill cost?" A Fei asked seriously.

Peter slowly held up three fingers. "It's not expensive. Only thirty thousand taels per bottle."

Compared to the other goods in Peter's shop—some of which cost millions—this was dirt cheap.

Each bottle contained three small pills, meaning each one cost only 10,000 taels. And for people dealing with this kind of issue, price wouldn't be a concern. They'd gladly pay, regardless of the cost.

Hearing the price, A Fei let out a relieved sigh. "Wow, that's really not expensive." He had mentally prepared for a price in the millions, but to his surprise, it was just thirty thousand.

Peter chuckled. "So, how many bottles does Boss A Fei need?"

A Fei thought for a moment, then raised five fingers.

Seeing this, Peter's eyes lit up with excitement. "Five hundred bottles? Boss A Fei, you're really something!"

At thirty thousand a bottle, five hundred bottles would amount to fifteen million taels!

And this was just the beginning. Once A Fei built up the reputation of the blue pill and more people started coming for it, sales would soar.

Peter had already begun to imagine a future where he didn't have to lift a finger—just sit in the shop and count stacks of cash.

Hehehe… now this is living…

But just as Peter was envisioning his luxurious future, A Fei's voice brought him crashing back to reality.

"Boss, I want five bottles," said A Fei.

Peter paused for a moment, still in disbelief. "Come again? Did you say… five bottles?"

"Yeah…" A Fei nodded sheepishly. "Five bottles. I want to buy five."

Peter was silent, his excitement crumbling. Five bottles? That's it? That's what you meant?

He was speechless for a long time. Then he asked, "So… how much are you planning to sell them for?"

"Thirty thousand, of course," A Fei replied earnestly. "I bought them for thirty thousand each, so I'll sell them for the same."

Peter stared at A Fei's innocent expression and sighed deeply. He took back everything he had thought about A Fei's business sense. He had assumed the man was here to turn a profit, but clearly, he was just running errands. No—worse, even a courier charges a delivery fee.

"A Fei," Peter said seriously, "do you want to make money?"

"Yes!" A Fei's eyes sparkled. "Boss, I want to make money!"

"I have a way for you to do just that. Do you want to hear it?" Peter asked, his tone slow and patient.

"Of course, Boss! Tell me, please!"

Peter nodded, satisfied with the enthusiasm. He pointed to the bottle of pills on the table.

"This bottle is thirty thousand taels, right?"

"Yes," A Fei replied obediently. "Thirty thousand taels."

"You bought it from me at that price. But you can sell it to someone else for… one hundred thousand taels."

A Fei's eyes widened. His jaw dropped in disbelief. Was that even possible?

He looked at Peter with deep admiration. As expected of the boss… such a genius idea!

But then, hesitation crept onto A Fei's face. "Boss… isn't that a bit unethical?"

Peter smirked. "Conscience? How much is a conscience worth, really? Making money is more important. Besides, my product is effective. It's not fake or harmful—it just happens to be expensive. If people think it's too pricey, they can simply choose not to buy."

"The boss is right!" A Fei nodded with sudden excitement. "Conscience is worthless, and I'm not human anyway, so I don't even have one!"

Peter's mouth twitched again. He hadn't expected A Fei to take his logic and run so far with it.

Watching A Fei's eager expression, Peter started to feel a little uneasy. After a pause, he added, "Well… to be fair, you still need some conscience in business."

He was genuinely afraid that A Fei would take things too far—like breaking each pill into thirds to sell individually and cut costs...

That would be terrifying.
