Chapter 86: Chapter 86: Evil Uchiha

Konoha Village, Commercial Street

The sun hung high over the bustling commercial street of Konoha, casting long shadows beneath the colorful awnings and shop signs. The air was filled with the chatter of villagers, the clatter of merchant stalls, and the tantalizing scent of grilled skewers and fresh produce. Yet, amid the lively atmosphere, a single figure walked with an air of calm detachment.

A stern-faced boy from the Uchiha clan strolled leisurely down the street. His dark hair was perfectly arranged, and his sharp eyes scanned the surroundings with quiet confidence. The Uchiha clan—known far and wide for their unparalleled strength and formidable prowess—were also famed for their striking appearance. Whether male or female, almost all members were exceptionally handsome or beautiful. This boy was no exception. His features were sharp and defined, with an unmistakable aura of nobility and power.

However, as the villagers caught sight of the bold Uchiha crest emblazoned on the back of his cloak, their faces quickly shifted from curiosity to a mixture of awe and fear. They instinctively stepped aside, avoiding his path as if he were a fierce lion prowling through the market. Whispers rippled through the crowd like a chilling breeze.

"An Uchiha…" someone muttered.

"Better not get too close," another warned softly.

The boy was well accustomed to this reaction. He was like a wild beast—majestic but feared. He paid no attention to the wary glances and hushed whispers, his gaze fixed straight ahead, unmoved by the tension his presence caused.

He continued his solitary walk, the only sound accompanying him being the faint rustle of his cloak.

Suddenly, from a narrow alley beside the bustling market, a chubby, mischievous-looking boy came running out with wild energy. Clutching a skewer of grilled meat tightly in one hand, the younger boy was clearly too excited to be careful. His cheeks were flushed from the heat and exertion, and his eyes sparkled with delight.

In his haste, he didn't notice the Uchiha boy walking calmly ahead.

Bang!

The two collided head-on with a heavy thud.

The little boy was sent flying backward like a cannonball, landing unceremoniously on his rear with a grunt. Tears instantly welled up in his eyes from the shock and pain, and his grip on the skewer loosened. The food flew in a graceful arc through the air before hitting the dusty ground a few feet away.

The Uchiha boy frowned, a hint of irritation flashing across his otherwise impassive face.

"Children…" he muttered quietly to himself, "I hate them the most."

Despite his gruff tone, he bent down and helped the smaller boy to his feet. His voice was stiff but carried a trace of concern, "Hey, kid, are you alright?"

The younger boy, however, seemed oblivious to the question. His attention was entirely fixed on the fallen skewers, his small hands trembling as tears streaked down his cheeks.

The Uchiha boy's patience thinned. He hated wasting time—even on children. His tone grew colder. "Little boy, I'm asking you a question."

The sudden sharpness startled the child, causing him to shudder and burst into loud, heart-wrenching sobs.

"Wuwuwu… Big brother! You have to compensate me for the skewers!"

The Uchiha boy froze, completely taken aback. He had been walking peacefully when the child had run into him, and now he was being asked to pay for the damage?

Around them, the commercial street's lively chatter hushed into an uneasy silence as the child's crying echoed through the square. Curious villagers stopped their shopping to watch the unfolding scene.

There stood the tear-streaked child, snot running down his nose, loudly crying.

Opposite him, the Uchiha boy remained still, caught in an awkward standoff.

The villagers whispered among themselves, their expressions hardening into scorn and disgust.

"The Uchiha clan, always so cruel... not even sparing a little child."

"Everyone says they're evil, but to see it like this... it's truly something else."

"The Hokage's warning about these powerful families bullying the weak is clearly justified."

The Uchiha boy's sharp ears caught every word, and unease began to creep into his chest.

He quickly spoke up, his voice tense but desperate to clear the misunderstanding.

"You must have misunderstood. I did not bully this child."

The villagers' eyes narrowed in suspicion.

A man sneered, "Who would dare accuse an Uchiha? They always get away with anything."

Despite their fear of the clan's power, some still dared to taunt them.

The boy hurriedly added, "No, I swear, I didn't!"

He crouched down to the crying boy's level and offered, "Little one, tell everyone what really happened. After that, I'll buy you some barbecue to make up for it."

The child wiped his tears and smiled faintly, eyes wide with hope.

"Really? You'll do that, big brother?"

"Of course," the Uchiha boy nodded, relief washing over him. "Now tell them."

The villagers leaned in expectantly, their faces a mix of skepticism and intrigue.

"Come on, little one. Don't be afraid. We're here to listen, and no one will hurt you."

"Yes, tell us what happened, and we'll settle it."

The child bowed his head politely before taking a few careful steps backward, creating space between himself and the Uchiha boy.

The boy's heart sank as a bad feeling blossomed inside him.

The child pointed at the Uchiha boy with an accusing glare.

"Uncles and aunts, this big brother tried to snatch my skewers from my hand. I refused, and he kicked me down! Then the skewers fell to the ground, wuwuwu..."

The villagers looked toward the fallen skewers lying in the dust, now clearly dirty and ruined.

"The Uchiha are truly despicable! They steal even from children!"

"Is this the clan the village leaders trust? I'm beginning to think we were wrong."

The accusations poured in, fueled by years of fear and rumors about the Uchiha.

The boy's confusion turned to disbelief. "What nonsense are you talking about?!"

The child, sensing the rising tension, ducked his head and whimpered, "Big brother, please don't poke my butt with the skewer again!"

Instantly, several villagers stepped forward, shielding the child behind their backs.

"Don't be scared. We're here for you, little one. No Uchiha will harm you today."

"Thank you, everyone!" the child said gratefully, casting a triumphant look at the Uchiha boy.

Anger flared in the boy's chest at the child's provocations and the crowd's readiness to believe lies. He realized he was the victim of a plot.

Unable to bear the growing hostility, he covered his ears and fled down the street, the villagers' insults echoing behind him.

"Typical evil Uchiha, running away after doing wrong!"

"They're all disgusting, the lot of them!"

While the villagers vented their rage, no one noticed the child slipping quietly back into the alley where he had appeared.

In the shadowed recesses of the alley stood two figures, their faces hidden behind animal masks—silent watchers waiting patiently.

The child approached them respectfully, bowing low. "My lords, I've completed the task as you commanded."

One nodded approvingly, then pulled a scroll from within his cloak, tossing it casually toward the child.

"Here is your reward."

The child caught the scroll eagerly. "Thank you, adults. With this money, my father's illness can finally be cured!"

Gratitude shone in his eyes as he hurried away.

But unbeknownst to him, a dark shadow moved silently behind.

A kunai flashed through the air, striking the child with deadly precision.

He collapsed silently to the ground, life extinguished in an instant.

The figure who had thrown the kunai stepped forward, glancing coldly at the body.

"Dispose of him carefully," one whispered. "We might still use this to frame the Uchiha."

The commercial street returned to its usual bustle, but the shadows of suspicion and malice lingered like a dark cloud over Konoha's heart.
