Chapter 30: The Abduction Of Hinata
The morning sun bathed Konoha in its warm golden glow, casting long shadows across the rooftops. Merchants called out their wares, shinobi walked purposefully through the village, and children played under the watchful eyes of their parents. The peace was deceptive—a thin veil over a world that was never truly safe.
Perched silently atop a high rooftop, Raven, known publicly as Sayuri Arata, secretly as the enigmatic leader of Uzushio, and in truth as the reborn Kushina Uzumaki, observed the world below.
At four years old, she looked like any other child. But beneath the surface, her chakra roared like a bound storm, refined and deadly, thanks to her connection with the World Tree. Her reserves had now grown to a staggering 75 Standard Kakashi Units, an amount unheard of in one so young.
"Another peaceful day," Yuumi mused beside her, lounging lazily, her tails flicking as she stretched. "So, what's the plan for today? More training? Expanding the Yuri Empire?"
Raven smirked but before she could answer, a pulse of foreign chakra crackled against her senses—a frantic burst, followed by an ominous stillness.
Her hidden Rinnegan pulsed, automatically fine-tuning her perception. She focused, extending her chakra senses, catching fragments of hurried whispers and rapid movement near the Hyūga compound.
Something was wrong.
"Yuumi," Raven murmured, her voice sharp. "Something just happened at the Hyūga estate."
Yuumi's ears twitched. "Hmm… your knightly instincts tingling? Gonna go save another damsel?"
Raven ignored the jab, already vanishing into the shadows of the rooftops. "Time to find out."
Within the Hyūga Clan's main hall, tension crackled in the air. Hiashi Hyūga, the clan head, stood rigid, his powerful Byakugan eyes locked onto the shinobi kneeling before him.
"The heiress is missing," one of his guards reported, his voice barely concealing his frustration. "She was last seen in the garden. The guards were unconscious when we arrived."
Hiashi's hands tightened into fists, but his expression remained composed. "Who took her?"
A grim silence filled the hall. Then another voice, low and sharp, answered.
"Kumo."
Gasps rippled through the room. Kumo. The same village that had long coveted the Byakugan, the same village that had schemed for years to steal the Hyūga's power.
"If we don't act now, they will escape," one of the elders warned.
Hiashi's jaw clenched. "Konoha will handle this."
But Raven, crouched in the rafters above, listening intently, already knew the truth.
Konoha wouldn't act fast enough.
If the Hyūga forced a confrontation, it could mean war. If the Hokage handled it diplomatically, Kumo would stall and the trail would go cold.
They were wasting time.
"So, what's the plan?" Yuumi purred in her mind.
"I'm going after her after all. How can I let that shy cutie get kidnapped."
Yuumi sighed dramatically. "Of course you are."
Without hesitation, Raven activated her seals, and in an instant, she vanished from Konoha in a flicker of space-time.
Deep in Fire Country's forests, a squad of five Kumo shinobi moved swiftly, their prized captive, Hinata Hyūga, held securely in their formation.
The three-year-old clutched her tiny hands together, her wide pearl-colored eyes brimming with silent fear.
"She hasn't made a sound," one of the Kumo nin muttered.
"The Hyūga must be trained from birth to suppress fear," another said. "Still, doesn't matter. Once we reach the border, the Byakugan is ours."
"We should just kill her and take the eyes now," a third suggested, eyeing her coldly.
Hinata flinched, but didn't make a sound.
"Orders are orders," the squad leader, Hoshikawa, grumbled. "The Raikage wants her alive for negotiation leverage. Besides, Hyūga eyes are tricky—removing them without damaging the optic nerves is difficult."
The other Kumo ninja grumbled but followed orders.
But something shifted in the air.
An eerie stillness settled over the forest.
Then came a whisper.
"You should have run faster."
From her perch high above, Raven watched the Kumo ninja carefully, already plotting.
She wouldn't attack yet.
No, she wanted to play first.
They stole a child from her home. They needed to suffer before they fell.
"Alright," she muttered. "Let's make this fun."
Raven spread her chakra subtly, placing invisible sealing tags along the forest floor, tree trunks, and even the Kumo ninja's weapons.
Then, she activated them one by one.
First: The Whispers.
A low, chilling voice slithered through the air, seemingly coming from nowhere and everywhere.
"You should have run faster."
The Kumo ninja froze, their heads snapping in all directions.
"Did you hear that?" one of them whispered.
"No one's there…"
Second: Sealing Their Rations Shut.
One of the shinobi reached for his canteen—only to find the lid wouldn't budge.
He tried again, straining, but the seal refused to open.
"The hell…?" he muttered, pulling out a food ration pouch. It was sealed shut too.
A second ninja tried their own supplies. Nothing opened.
A cold sweat ran down their spines.
"Something's wrong," one muttered.
Third: Looping the Terrain.
Using Wood Release, Raven shifted the forest paths subtly, forcing the Kumo ninja into a loop without them realizing it.
"Wait," Hoshikawa muttered, looking around. "Didn't we pass this tree before?"
The others fidgeted uncomfortably. "No, we've been going straight."
"Then explain why the broken branch on that tree looks exactly the same as it did ten minutes ago."
A shiver ran through the group.
Hinata, still bound, glanced around nervously.
She felt something… someone.
And then she heard the whisper again.
"You should have run faster."
This time, she recognized something in it.
It was calm, but dangerous.
It wasn't the Kumo Ninja's.
It was someone else.
Her heart pounded.
Someone's coming… Someone is here…
Hoshikawa gritted his teeth. "Enough of this. We're moving faster."
But before they could even take a step, a figure dropped from the trees, landing lightly before them.
A small figure, barely taller than Hinata, clad in dark robes, silver-white hair glowing in the moonlight.
Her glowing violet eyes cut through the shadows, a smirk playing on her lips.
Hinata's breath caught in her throat.
The girl—no, the knight—stood like she belonged to another world.
Her movements were effortless, her presence undeniable.
Raven revealed herself, ready to kick some kidnapper butt.
