Chapter 42: Behold The Pizza Empire Begins
The scent of bubbling cheese, roasted garlic, and fresh herbs filled the Crusty Kunai, the Kamizuki family's humble pizza shop. The restaurant had long since closed for the night, yet within the warm glow of the kitchen, an entirely different kind of training was about to begin.
Raven Kamizuki—formerly Kushina Uzumaki, future Sage of Six Slices, and wielder of the Rinnegan—stood in the center of the room, her violet-ringed eyes glowing softly as she turned to face her parents. Her small frame barely reached the counter, yet the weight of her presence filled the entire space.
With a deep breath, she placed her hands on her hips and spoke solemnly.
"Mother. Father. There is something I must tell you."
Aiko Kamizuki, arms folded, leaned against the counter, watching her daughter with suspicion. "If this is about you stealing my secret sauce recipe, we already know."
Raven scoffed. "That was never proven." She quickly shook her head, dismissing the accusation. "No, this is about something more… profound."
Her Rinnegan shimmered, the soft glow reflecting in the metal kitchen appliances.
Aiko and Hajime fell silent, observing their daughter carefully.
"I no longer feel the need to hide my power from you," Raven declared. "My eyes, my abilities... I have accepted them fully."
Hajime stroked his beard, a knowing look in his eyes.
Aiko, however, remained unimpressed. "That's great, honey. Now, are you going to use your godlike powers to help me clean the kitchen, or is this just another one of your dramatic monologues?"
Raven ignored the sarcasm. "With great power," Hajime intoned, raising his coffee mug like a sage before a sermon, "comes great pizza-making responsibilities."
Aiko exhaled sharply. "Not you too."
Raven nodded solemnly, arms crossed as she gazed at her parents. "Indeed. I accept this burden."
Her mother stared at her, deadpan. "Promise me one thing."
Raven tilted her head. "What is it?"
Aiko tapped her rolling pin against the counter. "Promise me you won't try to take over the world with the power of pizza."
There was a long silence.
Raven slowly nodded. "I solemnly swear not to destroy the world with pizza."
Both of her parents exchanged a satisfied nod, as if this was the most normal conversation they had ever had.
Yuumi, lounging atop a sack of flour, watched the exchange with absolute bewilderment. Her silver tails twitched in annoyance before she finally broke her silence.
"What... what are you even talking about?"
Raven turned to her fox companion with a knowing smirk. "Never mind, Yuumi. You wouldn't understand the path we walk."
Yuumi groaned and flopped onto her back. "Forget I asked."
Aiko sighed, rubbing her temples. "Alright, now that the sacred oaths of pizza destruction have been taken, can we get to the actual training?"
Raven's grin widened. "I thought you'd never ask."
The kitchen became a battlefield.
Before her, six balls of pizza dough floated effortlessly in the air, suspended by her Deva Path's gravity control. With a flick of her wrist, she set them into motion, spinning them like planets in orbit.
Aiko narrowed her eyes. "You're supposed to knead the dough, not put it through a celestial dance routine."
Raven ignored her.
She focused, channeling her chakra control exercises into the process of making the perfect pizza.
"Now, the true test begins." She raised her hands, directing the floating dough with careful precision. "Observe, Mother, as I masterfully apply sauce using only the repulsive force of Shinra Tensei!"
She flicked her fingers.
A bowl of tomato sauce exploded across the kitchen.
Aiko ducked just in time, barely avoiding the red splatter. Hajime, however, took a full-force Shinra Tensei tomato blast to the face.
A moment of silence.
Yuumi snorted. "I think that means you failed."
Raven frowned, tapping her chin. "Perhaps I overestimated the force needed."
Aiko glared. "Perhaps you should just use a spoon like a normal person."
Hajime, his face dripping with sauce, nodded sagely. "A powerful lesson. One must not overextend one's chakra, lest they be drowned in their own ambitions… or marinara."
A rolling pin flew across the room and smacked him in the forehead.
After cleaning up (and making Hajime wash the walls), Raven moved on to the next stage of training.
She placed her hands together, focusing her Outer Path abilities. The chakra flow expanded, wrapping around her mother.
Aiko suddenly moved at unnatural speeds, her hands rolling out dough at a velocity that defied physics.
"Raven!" she shouted, panicked. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME?!"
"I merely amplified your abilities, Mother," Raven said serenely, watching the dough blur into perfectly flattened circles. "With this, you may now reach heights of pizza-making unknown to mortal chefs."
Aiko's eyes widened in horror as she realized she couldn't stop.
The rolling pin slammed into Hajime's face once again.
"WISDOM! WISDOM EVERYWHERE!" he cried before toppling over.
Raven smirked. "The training is a success."
Yuumi rolled her eyes. "This is the dumbest thing I've ever seen, and I once watched you animate a corpse to test pizza delivery speeds."
Raven turned away dramatically. "One day, you will understand."
Yuumi muttered, "Doubt it."
Raven stood atop the counter, arms crossed, cloak billowing in the nonexistent wind.
"With these hands, I shall perfect the Six Slice Pizza—an art that will stand the test of time!"
Aiko grumbled. "If you're so obsessed, go open your own pizza shop someday."
Raven froze.
Her Rinnegan gleamed.
A slow, devious grin spread across her face.
"Oh, I will," she declared. "And it will be glorious."
Yuumi leaned over to Aiko. "You just made a huge mistake."
Aiko blinked. "What?"
Yuumi flicked her tail. "You just gave her the idea to start a pizza empire."
Aiko paled. "Oh no."
Hajime, rising from the floor, nodded sagely. "And thus, the legend of the Sage of Six Slices continues…"
A rolling pin hit him in the head again.
